The negative review is solely for the billing department. They double billed my insurance and I twice for the same room when I gave birth. They billed in my name and then separately for the same room in my childs name. Then they refused to send me an itemized bill so I would not find out. I checked the itemized claim on my insurance claim and figured it out anyway. When I called billing to ask them about it they completely ignored my question and then hung up on me. This is insurance fraud! Make sure to demand an itemized bill and look over it carefully. They are not legally allowed to bill your minor child for their own birth. How ridiculous. Another bad experience was just hours after my birth billing was in the room waking my child and I up to get insurance information when I provided it to them upon admittance and they didnt record the information apparently. They came in the room all high and mighty stating "since you didnt provide insurance information when you got here I guess you are on medicaid". I had to tell the lady they need to organize their workers better and she better get out of my room immediately to let me get some sleep after delivering my child. That was an incredibly rude and inconsiderate experience. She came two more times within a few hours until I had to yell at her. After that they still committed insurance fraud. Look at your bills and report insurance fraud to the state.

5/5 for Doctor and care 1/5 for administration and billing. I recently went in for a few small issues. Ended up with a fairly sizable bill for what was done. I called in June to get an itemized bill. Scene then I have called 8 times to try to get an itemized bill. Still waiting. Each time they said they would send it. As of now (5 months later) I still havent received a itemized statement. To make things worse They wont change my address either. When I went in for the visit they had me check the paper work. I told them my address was misspelled. The receptionist told me that it would be changed. 5 months later It has not. Each time I called for the statement I called to change my address as well. As of the day of this posting it has not been done. I even called ask them to change my address then immediately called them back and ask what my address was again. Big surprise it was the misspelled one. Mission has one goal. Get there money. Everything else can be forgotten. The worst part is they are working to put my in delinquent payments. I feel like this is legal is some form to deny the client a list of services then demand payment and turn them over to collections because they didnt pay. The worst part of this story is Ive talked to some other friends that this has happened to as well. Be ready to pay if you go to mission regardless of the circumstances.

The doctors providing care are great. However, the hospital is a sham. Watch yourself and your credit! After an 8 hour wait in the ER with my 4 year old, we were admitted. I paid my $500 co-pay upfront and filled out all of my information and shared my insurance card. I ended up being sent to collections because Mission did not even attempt to run my insurance card nor update my address in their system (you know, from all the paperwork they asked me to fill out?) or share my insurance information with their contracted physicians. I was sent to collections (with no bills or notices sent to me). I spent days of my life trying to sort this out. The women I dealt with in "Patient Experience" (where they kept directing my calls and visits) were ridiculously incompetent. After "investigating" what happened for a week, it was determined that in fact my insurance was never billed, and address was not updated. It was also determined that they did nothing wrong. They absolutely do not care. BEWARE!

I arrived in Asheville on Saturday evening. I was driving from my home in CT with my grandchildren to return them to their parents from a 2 week stay with us. On Saturday during the day I was having severe pain in my lower back and belly. It became apparent that I needed medical attention. My daughter in law, who is a nurse drove me to Mission. I was immediately signed in and relatively quickly put in a room. I cant say enough about how kind, attentive and professional each person that came into my room were. It ended up being a kidney stone. I feel blessed that I received this immediate attention and care.Thank you to all the members of the Emergency Room that worked as a team to help me heal. My nurse Sara was incredible. She explained everything to me before and while she did her work. She was kind and caring to me and my family as well. I dont remember all the other names of the staff who attended to me but Sara, thank you.

We drive 45 min now to go to the hospital. Medication was stolen from my wifes room on one occasion and the Hospital did nothing, as their staff is apparently not required to sign or inventory patient medications that they hold during the stay. Patients are treated like they are drug seeking even after having brain surgery within the last 6 months. Thank God the brain surgery was done somewhere else after finding out the number of people who died from infections later. ER Dr. knew nothing about my wifes condition, so he brought her a Wikipedia print out, and said "this says its not always a painful condition, so we arent going to treat you for pain." NP Laura in the ER was straight up rude on our last visit and seemed to intentionally ignore us for 3 hours (suspected pill seeking) before I spoke to a supervisor and got another Dr. Do yourself a favor and die peacefully at home before going to Asheville Mission Hospital.

This Hospital is just a Nightmare!!! Things they are doing can not be leagal. Its completely gross there! And once your in a room they take you out and shove you in another cramped up waiting room with people throwing up IVs hooked to them. Hearding people like cows. Our animal hospital here is way nicer and alot more caring!!!!!!It was terrible like you see in big over populated cities. I grew up here Mission has never been great but its down right awful now. Miss St. Joes so bad they were awesome. I told my wife if I should need medical help take me to Park Ridge or just leave me laying there and I mean that with all my heart!!!!!! I am gonna update this review.....they moved my wife to the St. Joes campus and here they are very good.....feels like old St. Joes. Mission Campus could learn alot from these people over here.

This is the most unfamily friendly hospital I have ever been to! My sister delivered her third child here and I was watching her other two children. When we got here we were informed that the mothers and babies have "quiet time" from 2-4 and told me that the children could go in but I would have to sit in a waiting room for 2 hours. Um no thank you. The nurses were completely unwilling to budge with us even though I was the only one here with the kids that was available to watch them. My sister, who had just delivered, even walked out to the nurses station asking them if there was anything they could do. They said that that was policy and again told me to go sit in the waiting room. Totally ridiculous I have never been to a hospital with a policy like this! Definitely wouldnt recommend it!
