My son went to the Urgent Care Center on University Pkwy in Sarasota FL on 11/17/16. I thought he was having a panic attach but he wanted to go to the urgent care just to be sure. He arrived around 4 pm and saw a male doctor. He cant remember his name and we didnt get any paperwork. The doctor told him that something was wrong with his heart and he needed to go to the hospital right away. OK the hospital is only a few miles from the center and my office is only a mile from the center. The doctor tells him that there isnt enough time for me to come get him and go to the hospital and calls an ambulance. He also says that Lakewood Ranch Hospital which is only 2 miles from the center wont be able to handle the emergency and I should meet him at Sarasota Memorial which is 9 miles away. Sarasota Memorial is the affiliate hospital with the urgent care center. When the ambulance gets there they say the doctor was wrong its not an emergency and they are going to take him to Lakewood Ranch Hospital. The hospital confirms that he was having a panic attach the whole time. The point is the ambulance was very expensive which was not necessary. The doctor at this center was totally incompetent and cost me quite a bit of money. I wonder if he got a kickback from the ambulance company. I will never go back to this Urgent Care Center again.

Went in for an ear pain. Was told by the check in counter that wait would be 30 min. 30 min and was escorted to an exam room was in the back, to which I told the woman jokingly "dont forget about me in here!" She replied stoically that it would be hard to (I guess because of the systems they have in place?) after her brief exam she told me i had one person ahead of me and the doctor would be in. I waited 45 minutes and listened to many conversations of a personal manner before coming out and asking how much longer it would be. She asked me who had seen me, to which I said no one since she left. She seemed a little confused told me the doctor had my chart and I would be next. The doctor, when he finally arrived 15min after that, was pleasant enough, and thanked me for my patience while reassuring me that my kind of issues are the ones made for urgent care but unfortunately some others need to be sent to ERs.. meanwhile the two people who came in after me left much before me were there for school physicals (not an ER worthy trip). I think much like I suspected when I was first put in the room I was "out of sight out of mind" Nurse who checked me out was rude for no reason when I asked if they called in prescriptions she told me it was too late.

*Edited 4/17/15* I wish I could say I had the same experience today as I did when I wrote my first review.. The front desk staff, specifically "Chrissy" was completely out of line, rude and definitely did not deliver, "Patient Centered Care". Out of control - obviously not a happy employee, based on the comments she made about SMH. I walked out, because if thats the welcome I get, I cant trust the health care would be any better. My original review: I brought my 12 year old son who was in moderate pain to this facility. We were greeted and filled out forms immediately and were seen within 5 minutes of filling out the form. To be fair, it was a Tuesday morning and the waiting room only had 2 other individuals when we first arrived. Several other people entered after us. The nurses and techs were kind, and compassionate towards my son who was visibly nervous. The doctor was prompt, kind, compassionate and thorough and shared the visual results of an x-ray with myself and my son. He also gave us some recommendations for pediatric doctors as we are new to the area. I hope we never had the need, but if we do I would not hesitate to return for my son, myself or any other family member.

The worst experience by far thanks to the condescending PA Ms. Kelsie, what a cantankerous person with such unhumane attitude!! unprofessional with no sense of humanity, was disrespected by her comments and embarrassed for no reason, which leads me to believe she has issues and must not work in the medical field particularly urgent care where peoples trust and respect is paramount! Ms. Kelsie walked out of the room raising her voice while the tram earnest door is open like Im her 5 year old and refused to hear or allow me to finishe my sentence...the rest of the staff is very nice and treat other with respect. This experience has shocked me while Ms. Kelsie continued her chatting with others about my medical record and sharing laughter!! I thought I was in a third world country! No privacy for my medical condition and clear HIPPA violation! Besides the disrespect and unacceptable lose of sense of humanity to help others.

Honestly the best experience Ive had in a walk in clinic. The waiting room is separated by little cubicals so you can sit and avoid others if theyre coughing or you just want to avoid people and such. The actual inside has a great interior and everything is new. I was put into a room about 10 minutes after I got there. The staff was great, I had xrays done on site. Although it took about an hour or so total. I wasnt upset in my wait. Everything was very nice and I would honestly have rated it 5 stars just for that. But. I just received a letter from the manager apologizing my wait was over 30 minutes. And I gotta say that was very sweet. Seriously this urgent care has been the best Ive been to in Sarasota over the last 20 years. If I need any more urgent care needs I will definitely be using their services.

Walked in yesterday morning with an extended cold from the holidays, and I was greeted immediately with a smile and asked how they could help. I described my symptoms and was professionally directed to put on a mask to protect other people in the clinic from upper respiratory germs. I was given several typical forms to fill out, and when I finished, I waited about 5 minutes before my name was called. Thats probably the quickest Ive been called back to any doctors office, much less a walk-in clinic. The intake nurse, Fabiola, was very caring and efficient, and the PA, Kelsey, followed her soon after, and was very professional, caring, and on point with my symptoms, diagnosis, and remedies. I will definitely use this clinic again as needed and recommend them to family and friends.

On Tuesday, July 12, 2016 upon returning with my husband from his post-op appointment on Cattlemen Rd, I spontaneously stopped at this Urgent Care Center because I am between primary care physicians. Although it was my first visit to this facility, I fortunately had been registered as a patient with the SMH Health Care System from using their outpatient Lab, SMH E.R.. and SMH Center for Wound Healing. So I had some medical history that Dr. Arno Loeffler was able to view relative to my chronic, undiagnosed medical condition. I found Dr. Loeffler to be a very attentive listener as I conveyed my urgent need for a blood test which he agreed to order for me. I would highly recommend this facility for any urgent care medical issue.
