If there was Zero start to Mark I would definitely Mark a 0 Heres my story I have suffered from acne years so I was looking for a good place to go I found on the internet skin and Laser so I said Im going to try it out I called them and I ask them if they accept my insurance the lady told me that she was going to check I gave her all my information on my insurence card and she told me she was going to check and let me know so i call her back an a couple of minutes later she said I was going to be fine that my insurance was going to cover that it would be fine so i went ahead and scheduled an appointment I waited a couple weeks for my appointment I went and it was ok after my appointment I reschedule because they wanted to see me back in 2 months 2 months later I went back and everything was fine now its been like a couple a weeks later I received a bill in the mail saying that I owe $70 so I was surprised I called them and they told me that $70 because of my insurance I told them that it was not possible because my insurance was going to cover it they even told me that before I even scheduled the first time But to make the story short this is what the lady told me we cannot see you again if you dont pay she repeated this a couple of times you have already owed $83 before for your first visit and we took that out now you owe $70 that has to be pay if you come back. This was for your second viste if you come back you have to pay 70 for each visit but if you dont come back I can just take the $70 out I was like Im not understanding you so youre telling me if I go back I have to pay $70 for each visit which is fine I can pay that and I have to pay the other 70 that youre charging me for the insurance and the $83 are cancel which i never knew about but if I dont go back your just going to cancel the $70 she was like yes So I was like in the first place why would the lady even tell me you did accept Insurance my insurance and she was like well I dont know why she told you that the only one thats In Charge of the insurance its me and I was like then why do they even hand her the phone if she wasnt in charge of the insurance. I mean if someone calls they should direct the call the the right person. Because if they told me that they did not accept my insurance I wouldnt even go there in the first place But whoever that lady was thats in charge of the insurance she was really rude I do not recommend people go in there it was the worst experience I have ever gone through and I cannot believe she told me if I didnt go back out and didnt have to pay anything so shes basically telling me not to go back so I want have to pay anyting how rude..but it doesnt matter theres better place to go to people read review before going to a place I didnt in look what happen

I want to stress to anyone going to Charlotte Skin & Laser - DO NOT GO HERE FOR AN ACTUAL SKIN CHECK OR ANNUAL EXAM. This is primarily a cosmetic dermatologist. I see a place for cosmetic dermatology in the world, but I feel its incredibly irresponsible of this practice to state that they actually do annual skin checks for skin cancer prevention. Its taken me a while to write this post. I went to Charlotte Skin & Laser for an annual skin check. I have very pale skin and a history of skin cancer in my family. She spent maybe 60 seconds looking over me - the SHORTEST time anyone has. It would seriously take me longer to actually look at only my arm, as I have many freckles and moles. She said everything looked fine. Three months later, I was diagnosed with Stage 3A Metastatic Melanoma, which means it had spread from a mole on my calf to my lymph node. I had 3 surgeries, and 6 months of an aggressive and high-side effect immunotherapy. Thank goodness I am No Evidence of Disease for 6 months now, thankfully to my amazing dermatology team and oncology team at Levine Cancer Institute. I contacted the general manager of Charlotte Skin and Laser. He was less than helpful, unresponsive, and rude. I dont have any issues with their cosmetic approach. I do, however, have a GREAT issue with their "skin cancer prevention" and "annual skin check" approach. It is incredibly irresponsible of a medical professional, who has been educated on and knows the risks of skin cancers, to do a skin check on anyone in 60 seconds or less. I do not know how they can do that in good conscience. I pray that there are not other stories like mine. Overall, if you need botox or some other cosmetic type of skin treatment, this is probably your place. If you are looking at getting an annual skin check, please go ANYWHERE else. This practice is incredibly irresponsible and its a shame they can even call themselves "dermatologists." The correct thing for them to do, would be to refer patients who are looking for an actual skin exam to another dermatologist who will actually spend the time to do that.

Where do I start? First, all along I thought I was seeing a dermatologist for acne (their "acne specialist"). Turns out shes a PA-not a doctor, not a derm, not a freaking acne specialist. A PA that walks in with her hand on the door handle for 2 minutes and leaves, then I get charged with a freaking $90 fee. If I am paying you that much for a consultation appointment, sit down and answer my questions! Nurses are extremely rude. ALWAYS making SO many mistakes. Its so inconvenient to always have to call and tell them to fix things. THIS CLINIC IS ALL ABOUT MAKING MONEY OFF OF YOU. They are not going to solve your skin problems from the first day, they want you to keep coming back. They will spend the appointment trying to sell you their products. Edit: now that I am looking at the other reviews, I realize why the appointment cost is too high! Its because its a cosmetic and not a medical clinic so insurance wont pay! The clinic kept telling me it was because I had a high deductible plan and that they accepted my insurance. I am definitely going elsewhere.

Everyone I encountered was very dry and unfriendly. Secretary, customer service Rep, administrative, whatever you want to mask it as, it all translates to "Hello, how may I help you today" with a smile. I went in for a consultation and wasted a 25 minute drive to be looked at from afar for less than 10 minutes and my appointment started late as well. I was told that there is only one option for my skin. No effort to assess my skin, only giving me "advice" on the fact that unfortunately "my skin type" (black) will only respond to one type of treatment for these scars. Some people just dont understand what it means to be professional and not wear their thoughts on their faces when working with the public. These ladies need to practice. The treatments and procedures might be great but judging by other comments and my experience, the customer service part is less than average. I know how these things should go and I know better than to accept any kind of treatment. Ill definitely find another establishment to perform the appropriate procedure.
