Bad billing practices. Seems like the billing Dept. is dishonest. I was told I needed to "pay in full" at the time of my appointment. I was in to have a couple questionable spots [moles] checked. I paid in full $142. I received a bill a few weeks later for $142 plus $17 for freezing a skin tag. The invoice did not acknowledge the initial payment. I asked for an accurate invoice [weve been told by BCBS of NC to save all bills for reimbursement - they have been having issues since the beginning of the year] only to be sent an identical invoice to the first one. So I paid the $17. THEN, I was sent another bill for $142. Apparently the initial $142 that I paid in full was for just walking in their office. I think they are ripping people off. They say I now owe another $142 for services that day. I asked Dr. Olson at the time, if it wasnt necessary to remove something then dont because I wasnt sure how much it would cost. He assured me that hed freeze it off at no charge. $159 dollars later - I guess that wasnt honest either....or he doesnt know what the billing Dept. is up to.

If youre looking for a dermatologist in the Charlotte area, I highly recommend Dr.Olson. This was my first ever dermatology appointment and with family history of melanoma and other various cancers I was terrified of what might be found. Dr.Olson was patient, knowledgable, and seemed genuinely interested in my concerns. He encouraged my questions and did not make me feel rushed in any way. He gave me peace of mind that I could trust.

I was quoted a price one week for a MiraDry procedure only to be told the very next week that the price had gone up $300. I asked them to honor the price they quoted me at and they refused, which is just bad business practice. I was told that they misquoted me the price. This was the third time I called to schedule and the previous two times I was told the same price. (I ended up doing Botox prior to the third time calling).
