We have gone to Blakeney Family Physicians for over 6 years. I am VERY picky about choosing health care providers, and with four children and having moved three times in 20 years, we have experienced plenty of medical providers. This is the BEST office we have ever encountered. Dr. Mueller is one of the most caring and knowledgeable family/pediatric doctors I have ever gone to. His level of attention and concern given to his patients is beyond the moon, and it is clear that he expects his nurses and office staff to give the same level of excellence to all patients. They are professional, kind, and always helpful. They spend a lot of time with each patient at each appointment, are never rushed, and we always leave feeling that each and every aspect of our health was addressed. Wait times are minimal, and responsiveness is above any medical office I have ever been to. It is clear to me that he chooses his employees carefully, especially the nurses and associate physicians. I read the other reviews on here and was flabbergasted. I can only assume these were from difficult patients who did not showed up very late to an appointment or possibly were seeking medications that were inappropriate. I have recommended Blakeney Family Physicians to multiple friends, ALL of whom have had the same excellent experience that weve encountered. I often tell people that if we did not have Dr. Mueller and his office as our medical provider, I would be devastated. I have NEVER experienced a better medical provider in my forty plus years, or 20 plus years as a Mom who expects the very best in medical care for her children and family. We feel incredibly lucky to have found this office and Dr. Mueller. I HIGHLY recommend this office for your family medical needs. You will not be disappointed, and your family will get the HIGHEST level of care, bar none.

Please dont waste your time going there. The staff is extremely unprofessional - my wife is the one that goes there and we are not people that need to see our doctor very often. The first time she went she arrived early to fill out their forms and total time spent at the doctors office was almost 3 hours. She spent 2 hrs in the waiting room and an extra 30min in the exam room before the doctor came in for a physical. She thought that they might have been having a busy day having never gone there before and decided to give them another chance. However, her second time going into the office was the same, the total time spent in the office 4hrs, 2 hours in the waiting room and an hour and a half in the exam room before being seen. If you need to call and ask a question the staff immediately builds up walls between you and them. There is NO patience-doctor relationship and absolutely no courtesy to you at all. As others have stated they do not give you any common courtesy by letting you know if they are running behind and expect you to wait. There was no mention of a time frame for when one could get in and out of a place. The staff behaves as if you , the patient, are an inconvenience to them. We are not picky individuals and are pretty laid back when it comes to life, but this office is a circus act. You could probably go to the slums of Charlotte and receive better service and this certainly isnt the service you expect in the Blakeney/Ballentyne area. This is a doctors office and you should be able to trust your doctor and rely on them. I would not wish this bad experience on anyone. Dont walk away from this office - RUN!!

My daughter was seen today by her dermatologist, who wanted her to have blood drawn due to the medication she takes. We were told to go down to Blakeney Family Practice, located in the same building, and the lab was there. After we were taken to the waiting area outside the lab, a lab technician approached me and said my daughter shouldnt have gone to the bathroom, but should have come right back since they close down for lunch at 11:30am. I wasnt sure what she was talking about because my daughter and I came straight from her doctors office to the lab, which I relayed to her. I also told her we hadnt been informed what time her lab closed for lunch, which she replied, "Well, they (the staff in the dermatologist office) know what time we close." The entire conversation took place in front of other patients. As a nurse, myself, I found the technicians behavior very unprofessional. She should have taken this up with either the Blakeney Family Practice front office staff, who took us back to the lab or the dermatologist office. Never is it okay to talk to the patient in this manner. There is no way we could have known that they went to lunch at 11:30am. Would have rather been asked to come back in the afternoon, than to be talked to that way. The technician should be counseled on her attitude and needs to understand that you never know what a patient has just just been told and why they might need those labs drawn. I truly hope this was a one time thing and she doesnt treat other patients in this manner.

You know those stories you hear about being exploited by a doctor? Perfect place to experience it. Came in because I thought I broke my finger. Doc took a look at it, said she needed X-rays, said it was broken and I need to see a specialist to see if any tendons are broken. Called me later that night to tell me its not broken, but I should still see a specialist to see if any tendons are broken. I go to the specialist. He takes a look at it, no x-rays, and just tells me just to ice it and wrap it and its just a bad sprain. No special treatment necessary. No prescription. Then recommends I go to a physical therapist to learn some techniques to heal faster. Therapist shows me how to strengthen my finger by bending it in certain ways. Took less than 5 minutes. Total cost with insurance: $1000! A thousand freaking dollars. Even after the bill was paid, they constantly kept calling me saying it was unpaid even though we had proof of a cleared check and everything. I highly recommend finding a doctor that can actually tell if your finger is broken without having to give you the runaround and charge $1000 just to tell you its sprained, just ice it and wrap it and then constantly harass you for more money despite having already paid it.

Dr. Ratliff may have saved my life. After visiting the Urgent Care over a weekend and subsequently being sent to the ER for elevated D-Dimer levels in my blood, the ER docs (who were very fast, friendly and efficient) ran tests determined the pain in my leg to be a strained muscle, prescribed pain medication and sent me home. Dr. Ratliff saw that I had been in over the weekend, reviewed my tests and followed up with me to see what the ER said. When I told her what happened, she immediately sent me to a hematologist for additional tests, who determined I had a severe blood clot and needed to begin medication immediately. Had Dr. Ratliff not been concerned, the pain medication would have masked my symptoms and the clot could have caused severe damage or killed me. While the wait at Blakeney is sometimes longer than wed like, Ill take the personal touch any time.
