I didnt realize how much I loved this practice until it was gone! I started with this practice with Dr Young following my sisters advice but he retired shortly after we started using the practice. We ended up staying with Dr Hooker who was the doctor replacing him after retirement. We were happy with his care. Then Dr Hooker left. At this point, neither of my kids were newborns anymore, and I realized I never got a primary care physician for myself, so I decided to leave and join a family practice we could all use together. Boy was that a mistake! The doctor at the family practice seemed to be bothered by us when we came in and I was unnecessarily sent to the ER twice because, in my opinion, the family practice doctor wasnt competent. I begged to be taken back at Peidmont Pediatrics! They agreed to make an exception since we had lost two doctors in a row and understood my faulty logic in leaving. They were so forgiving! Unlike the family practice, Peidmont Pediatrics has always gone the extra mile. Once when my oldest was about 18 months old, he cut his finger badly right before lunch time. Dr. Rom, who was not our primary doctor, stayed during his lunch break and put a stitch in my toddlers finger. He did a fantastic job and saved us a trip to Urgent Care or the ER. Talk about doctors who care!!! I wont take this place for granted again!

We chose this office after having our child at womens hospital do to the fact that it is in network with our insurance company and was recommended by a nurse. Dr. Young seemed to be very knowledgible in the hospital and we were pleased with his in-hospital visit. However, our first experiences in this office were not so good. The office staff was not friendly and not compassionate to my child at all! Then, when seeing Dr. Young, he became very condescending and rude in all of his explanations. I am not sure if he thinks everyone surrounding him is an idiot or if he is just oblivious to how he sounds when speaking to people. Also, from the 1st visit to the 13th he called our son a she each time. I would not recommend this office to anyone, and actually am surprised that Dr. Young is still practicing with the attitude he has toward his patients.

Happy with the place but I could be talked away. They staff is helpful and courteous but Im not blown away by the doctors like I was when we first selected it.
