My experience there was around two years ago, so my memory is a bit fuzzy. I got admitted for suicidal thoughts; I couldnt take it. I went to Moore County Hospital and we waited for any place to open up. This, sadly was the only place that opened up. I went in, no self-harm or anything, being told that I didnt belong there because I didnt self harm. Then they tried to put me on extra pills without me knowing. If you didnt eat, you risked staying there longer. They only wanted you to miss home. You got to talk to your family twice a week and it was for maybe five minutes. Im sorry, I thought we were helping people with mental health issues, not throwing them in a prison. There were days all I did was cry because this place locks you from the outside world.

Groups were helpful staa was courteous pleasant but not as professional. Families are not treated with the level of respect they deserve. Patients are shipped out whether they are still facing issues. Drs are not stepping and conducting one on one as they should prior to prescribing meds that do more harm than good in the long run if they do not take the time to make fsmily members a part of the treatment plan. Furthermore the system in the US is broken therefore professionals in the field are really not able to perform at the capacity necessary to provide quality service!

Erroneously admitted against my will. On my first visit with the house psychiatrist, he said I didnt belong there, but I had to do the time anyway. Left in worse shape than when I went in. They obviously admitted me for my insurance money. My roommate in there who had no insurance, said he was refused admittance even though he said he was suicidal. He had to go to the police and they helped him get admitted.Theyre just after insurance money.

Enjoyed the staff and treatment received. Everyone must go in with an open mind and take advantage of every opportunity BHH has to offer. They cant cure you, they can only provide you with the coping skill and tools you need as an individual to help yourself. Once obtained, the rest is up to you.
