Where do I start. Well its been a few years but I took my dog here after a trip to the emergency vet(which was closing and referred us to a couple vets but this one was a mile down the road so we went here) because he ate a Popsicle stick and was vomiting uncontrollably. They ran a lot of test and the vet was convinced that our dog was "stressed" because we had just move to NC from TN(we are a military family and this was our and his 5th move including a move to and from Germany so we knew it wasnt stress). We visited this vet 5 times throughout the week and it wasnt until our Saturday visit and we seen a different vet that they found a mass in his abdominal area. Well the mass was a perforation of his intestines from the Popsicle stick that we originally took him in for. We were then referred back to the emergency vet(who were outstanding by the way) and they did emergency surgery along with blood transfusions to try and get the infection under control. After $3000 in vet bills(between the regular vet and the emergency vet) we had to make the hard decision to put our little boy to sleep and stop his pain. I then contacted Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital about this through letter and received a letter back from them saying they would review my dogs case. Weeks later I then received a letter from Wrightsville Beach again saying if I signed the enclosed letter and agreed to take no further action that they would refund HALF of my money I paid for our service with them. Needless to say I did not sign the letter and still have all documentation because the money back would not bring back what I really wanted which was my dog back. Even though it has been a few years since this happened its worth passing on to anyone who may use this Vet to consider!

We moved to Wilmington from the Charlotte area and needed a new Vet for our puppy. Before we even had a chance to get settled, he ate something and got very sick! It was a Saturday and we were sure we were going to have to pay for an emergency vet, but we didnt thanks to VCA Saturday hours. We call just an hour or two before they were due to close and they got us right in! They ran the test they needed to run and allowed us to determine what was necessary or not to keep the cost to a minimal. They stayed over an hour later than their closing time and did not charge us extra or act like we were inconveniencing them on a Saturday. They gave him his medication , and thankfully he was back on his feet the next day. He just had his check up there today and we signed up for the puppy care plan . It is an awesome plan that saves you money and is a convenient way to take the stress out of getting the quality care you need, for your per year round. My pet had some issues with the first vet that we chose in Charlotte and not having a good experience with them. VCA was so understanding of this and has been so patient and loving with my Oscar. I would agree with some others that the prices are a bit higher, but you get what you pay for. I truly appreciate their caring and friendly staff and so happy we have found a great Vet for our boy! I would definitely recommend them.

I went to vca today to bring my little baby, Dr. Daniel is super nice and was helpful in helping me understand my puppy. I would have given all Stars but my only disappointment was one of the vet nurses. I know I am not very knowledgeable of everything about dogs and the different breeds but I am ready and willing to learn to make sure my baby boy is healthy and has the best care. After she gave me the run down of everything my puppy needed and told me how someone elses dogs died because they didnt have a certain vaccine, (which was like information overload), she then gave the care plan pricing, I asked her what kind of payments do they take and she said debit or credit (all I had on me was checks) I then told her I would have to come back later and pay because I didnt have my card on me and all I wanted was the free exam. Well I guess that wasnt good enough for her and she kinda cut me off and said "you do know thats the only service you can get today, the Dr. can only look him over" (which I was very aware of before I even pulled up on the parking lot). To sum it up she caught an attitude for whatever reason and walked out the door to get the Dr. . I understand people are passionate but it wasnt that deep to look your nose down at me because I wasnt ready to pay yet for the care plan. The young lady at the front desk was better understanding of that.

Just moved to Wilmington. Took two puppies in for their last set of shots at VCA due to "free mandatory exam", prior to shots. Nothing was free about it and exam practically non existant.I Was there for two hours and twenty minutes. Most of that time was waiting in the exam room with the assistant coming in every half hour trying to SELL me on an extremely expensive pet plan. I repeatedly said I only wanted the necessary shots. The previous the waitshots were 25.00, including a real exam, nails trimmed, etc with my previous Vet. I was NOT HAPPY at the nearly $200.00 Bill I was slapped with for two pups. Two and a half hours and two hundred dollars ! The price i was quoted for flea pack was considerably more on my bill. The charges were astronomical. The wait was unnecessary and difficult. Will not return to VCA.MONEY MONGERS.

I would highly recommend Dr Simmons at VCA Wrightsville Beach Animal Hospital. I have two dogs and he was very informative about anything from behavior issues weve had, to why we need certain vaccines and why they are important. I recently just moved from the Wilmington area to Florida where I havent been able to find a good vet for our needs yet, let alone a vet that even seems to care. I really miss the expertise and the warm welcoming office that VCA always provided for me, Bacon, and Sophie. Dont hesitate to go there for your animals checkups.... youll be in great hands.

Ive been taking my pup to this VCA to see Dr. Mitlitsky for the past several months and have been very pleased. Recently a vet tech by the name of Jillian came to the rescue and helped my very stubborn and scared puppy. It was the first time Charlie had been to the office without her sister and was having more difficult time than normal. Jillian went out of her way to give Charlie extra TLC and treats to make her comfortable and the visit a less stressful experience. I will gladly refer any friends in town to VCA Wrightsville if they ask for a new vet recommendation.

Dr. Mitlitsky took wonderful care of our familys dog recently. Not only was she knowledgeable, she was compassionate, with amazing listening skills ( I tend to ask alot of questions and I get very emotional about my "babys" health), she also has never-ending patience. We are so very grateful that she took the time to re-explain diabetes and the proper care for our remi-girl. Whenever I got nervous she would leave me feeling prepared, more capable of "reading" signs & symptoms. Thank you so much Dr. Mitlitsky!! I would highly recommend her care!
