My sister-in-law referred me to Dr. Southard when my 100 llb 10 year old rottweiler had an inter-digital tumor on his paw. From scheduling, care, cost, I couldnt have been more happy with them. Also took care of checking teeth and pulling a few while he was under for the other procedure b/c he could see issues with 2 of them. Even sent me home with a towel for the ride home, tape, and additional gauze, free of charge. Overwhelmed!

This place represents everything good about a country vet. No over priced services or sales pitches, and I never feel ripped off. Smart, practical, no nonsense animal care. Kind and gentle natured docs and techs. (Although the long time receptionist IS a bit gruff) Weve taken all our dogs there for the past 15 years. We live in The Polaris area and we are still happy to drive the 50 mile round trip to support Dr. Southards practice.

Dr Anderson and Stephanie are rude, unfriendly, and unprofessional. Did not have a good experience with them today. They have no tolerance or patience for children. I understand its not a pediatric facility, however the way my children and I were treated today is unacceptable. So beware before taking your children into this animal hospital! They dont like kids there! You will be treated poorly if you have kids with you!!

Dr. Southard is by far one the best vets! He is not all about money and truly cares for you and your pets! We have taken pups for check ups to regular check ups surgeries to even losses and he has been wonderful everytime. Highly recommend him personally to anyone looking for a vet that truly loves his job and the love of the animals not just the paycheck!!

We were previously with another vet in Johnstown whose staff was extremely rude every single time we were there. We switched a few months ago to Dr. Jenkins at Alexandria Animal Hospital and wished we had made that change years ago. Dr. Jenkins and her entire staff genuinely care about the well-being of your pets. Highly recommended by our family!

Weve to taking our cats there since 1991. Weve had what seems like a dozen cats during that time. Dr. Southard and Dr. Jenkins are both very kind and have treated our feline family members with great care. During the tough times at end-of-life, they have been very compassionate and professional. I hope to be treated as well when my time comes.

This place is amazing. My puppy had parvo and stayed here for a few nights. They basically saved her life and only charged me about 1/3 of the cost of anywhere else. I will never go to another vet.
