New doctor, Dr. Wagner is awesome! We took our cats here when it was Dr. Zinni running the show, but we recently went back to have our cats updated on their shots. We were surprised to see a new owner. Dr. Wagner is the new owner and veterinarian. She is young, smart and extremely personable. We felt much more at ease with her than with Dr. Zinni. I know I was hesitant to work with someone new, but I think she has a lot of knowledge on new procedures and techniques. I am not sure how prices will change, if at all, but I will say they are worth it now that theres a young doctor who clearly knows whats going on in the world of veterinarian medicine. My cats were great when I picked them up, and we even had them both bathed by their on-site groomer. I think that service is such a convenience! It may not be the largest clinic, but the animals are kept in very spacious cages. We asked about kenneling, and they told us they walk the dogs several times a day. Several times a day is probably more than most people walk their own dogs when they have them at home. If you dont think thats worth the cost, then Im really not sure why you even have pets.

We moved here in early June, our dog was limping -a sore was on his paw - we didnt know where to take him so we took him nearby - they did an emergency procedure that cost almost $500, I didnt know what to do as I wanted to trust them - now almost $1,000 later our dogs paw is still a mess - we took him to another vet last night - they were wonderful and the total cost for the office visit & meds were $41 - I called several places beforehand to get a comparison in what Animals R Special did up to that point - every single place would have been 40-50% less - this is a HUGE mark up - I will never take our dog there again and pray no one else does - they are taking advantage of people because they are in New Albany -very sad and I would never trust someone with that kind of character - huge lack of morals to be charging people what they are charging. They claim they give quality of care - well our boxer still has something wrong with his paw - we feel we are in good hands now - wish we would have gone somewhere else to begin with - live and learn

I feel compelled to write a review after reading some of the earlier reviews and not liking what I saw compared to my experiences. Dr. Wagner is great and the majority of the time the staff are awesome! From what I have learned, Dr. Wagner took over the practice 4-5 years ago. About that same time, I got my first pup. He has been going to Dr. Wagner ever since and has become a regular of the day care service. Dr. Wagner and her staff have provided amazing care at what I consider a reasonable, or least equal, price compared to other vet practices. She does her best to make herself available since accidents happen outside of normal business hours, and everyone does a great job remembering every pet that comes through the door. Between regular check-ups, accidents, and surgery I always walk away feeling good about Animals R Special. We are getting our second pup this weekend and will be taking him to Dr. Wagner for all of his vet needs!

My dog took a flying leap out of someones arms. I needed to get her seen, but my regular vet does not have Saturday hours. I called around the area trying to get an appointment. Every vet was busy and booked (including Animals R Special), but Animals R Special made the time. While I was very appreciative they saw my dog I was very, very impressed by the staff and the doctor. You can tell they are about taking care of the animals. I did not get that from the other offices I contacted. Also, while there I saw fostered dogs coming in for their care. Another sign they care. As for the price, it was fair (in fact lower than I expected and I have experience with multiple vets over the years). We are seriously thinking of switching vets.

I took a stray kitten here to have her checked out and they insisted on giving her the full round of shots that kittens usually get. Afterwards, she was very sore and sick. My step-mother is a veterinarian across the country and when I told her what was going on, she said that this stray was far too young to be getting these shots AND most vets do not give all of these shots at one time. The price of course was ridiculous (more than what my stepmothers clinic charges in California). The facilities are rather cramped and in an old house? We asked around and found a clinic in Gahanna (Dr. Fu) and we absolutely LOVE them there.

These guys were awesome! They slipped me in last minute between appointments when my regular vet was booked up, which let me avoid going to the ER when my pup was bitten on the ear. They fixed him right up, we were in and out quickly and they took great care of him. The vet and the tech were both very sweet and did everything they could to distract my pup from the pain while they fixed him up. They used glue on his ear which is holding up well and put him on antibiotics as a precaution. Ill definitely consider coming back here! Im just so thankful they helped us even though we are not a regular client! Thank you!!!

I felt like just a number to them. Every time I called I got some snappy girl who cut me off mid sentence and was very dismissive. I went there about seven times for an on going problem we were having, and every time they suggested the same treatment. No one once thought, "this isnt working, lets try something else". They just took my money, gave me the same pills that didnt work the first time, and sent me on my way. I will say the vets are very friendly and answer any and all questions, but the girls at the front desk are rude and snappy. As soon as I visited another vet they fixed us up on the first visit.

Dr. Wagner is the absolute best! My dogs LOVE her and so do we.. When I board them they get excited to go there because they know she will let them run around and not keep them confined to a crate like most places do.. she cares about the dogs/animals she treats.. shes easy to get in touch with/work with..SHE ACTUALLY TAKES YOUR CALLS WHEN YOU HAVE A CONCERN! -- Most clinics would say.. "you need an appt to talk to speak with the doctor"..not here!! shes great! This is a completely different clinic since she took over.. great folks.. no fuss.. no added fees..fair pricing. highly recommend this practice

I take my dog to Animals R Special for all shots and general vet needs. Dr. Wagner is wonderful! She truly loves the animals and wants what is best for them. Her staff also care a lot about how your pets are doing. I always get a follow up call from either Dr. Wagner or another staff member to see how my dog is feeling if we have visited. This shows me how important the health of my dog is to all the staff at Animals R Special. I will be boarding my dog with them in August and know that he will be loved and treated very well. If you do not have a local vet, visit Animals R Special. You will be very happy!
