A friend of mine has been dealing with increasingly severe abdominal pain for the past two years. During times where she has been unable to bear the pain and could not see her doctor, she was left with no option but to come here. Over the past two years they have treated her as if she were exaggerating the pain or had nothing wrong. At times they have been incredibly rude to her. Every time she has gone there, they have diagnosed her with a different issue. First they said it was a UTI, then scar tissue, then kidney stones, then a "swollen lymph node" She has a VISIBLE lump on her abdomen that has gotten bigger over the last year that she has been forced to come here, and they STILL offer no competent treatment. She decided to go to Aultman and within a few hours they found SEVERAL sebaceous cysts on her ovaries and referred her for surgery. The surgeon she was referred to is on vacation at the moment, but she is required to complete a cycle of antibiotics before they can operate on her. She was told to visit the hospital if the pain gets worse since this could mean serious issues, which it did. Following these instructions, she came here to be looked at. After sitting for TWO HOURS (excuses abound) in the waiting room, in severe pain, she was finally seen by a doctor. This "doctor" (Dr. Potts ), who was the same one who incompetently diagnosed her with kidney stones a few weeks before (the lump on her abdomen is VISIBLE, to give you an indication of how absurd and lazy this diagnosis is) told her that it was "scar tissue" *this time* and sent her home with painkillers. No ultrasound. No CT scan. No blood test. Nothing! Condescendingly telling her "Its scar tissue honey, I cant say why it hurts" and also arrogantly inferring that Aultmans diagnosis was incorrect. I cannot find the words to describe how abhorrent and incompetent their approach to medical care is . This isnt some one-off "bad timing" scenario either. This has been the exact, recurring experience shes had every time at this hell hole of a "hospital". And this is the case with literally every single person I know, including myself, who have had the misfortune of stepping foot into this place. The locals around here call it the "Kevorkian clinic" for a good reason. The fact that this place has a rating above 2 stars is unfortunate at best, though more likely is an intentional and disingenuous effort on behalf of those who would be disadvantaged by an honest rating. I have never met a single person in 28 years who has had anything good to say about this place. EVERYBODY in the area unanimously describes it as the worst hospital theyve ever been to. Edit: She had surgery last week and they removed THREE sebaceous cysts and diagnosed her with endometriosis. Two years she has been dealing with this, over a dozen times she has come to this hospital (even on recommendation by her former gynecologist, who is equally terrible) with absolutely no competent treatment, dealing with constant and increasingly severe pain. Two years! Within a matter of hours, Aultman correctly diagnosed her problem and within two weeks she had surgery to remove the offending cysts and received a proper diagnosis with which she can pursue proper medical care. I would indeed like to speak with the appropriate department/individual about this. How do I do so?

The staff and nurses at Union Hospital on the Intensive Care Unit are very friendly, welcoming and compassionate! However, one nurse specifically needs to reconsider other employment due to her lack of empathy and compassion towards loved ones of the patients in the ICU! Each time Ive been there to visit she has not been very welcoming in saying so much as hello or have a good evening when leaving! In addition, those who are or may be contagious are ask to wear gowns and gloves upon entrance to the patients room, but she does not properly gown up! She never fastens the neckline of her gown and has even emptied the garbage, left the room still gowned and after disposing of the garbage returning back to the room with the same gown. While family and friends are asked and expected to not exit the room gowned, due to the possibility of spreading infections or other contagious illnesses, this nurse thinks it acceptable! Again Union Hospital is a wonderful facility that provides good quality care, but unfortunately there are always those who lack the compassion and personality for their job position!

While staying at Union Hospital due to a blood clot I thought about my whiskey barrel and how it had been left unattended. I watched as all of the angels came in and out of the barrel the last two days taking small and some very large amounts of the spirit from my barrel. They would wake me up in the middle of the night to have me remove the Bung for them. But what could I really do? If those angels had not taken some of the spirit from the barrel then I most likely would have given up my entire spirit completely. So to those angels...the women of course were all heaven sent and came into the barrel like angels with harps and elegant long flowing hair...your Angels Share that you took was greatly appreciated. Hmmmm...Angels...

Far superior to any hospital in the area, Union Hospital has the feel of a small medical facility, but the quality of a larger one. Originally from an area with world-class medical facilities, I have recently had to take a family member for treatment at three hospitals in the area (central SE Ohio), and the experience at Union was by far the best. Every volunteer and staff member was pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable, and each one treated my loved one with dignity, respect and great care. My family member hates medical treatment of any kind, but the experience at Union Hospital has made them much less apprehensive about a trip to the hospital.

Dr. Levitt is a extremely knowledgeable surgeon. I have had numerous infections in my leg recently and he has the best bedside manner out of any Doctor I have experienced. I dont want someone to wait on me hand and foot but, he takes the time to explain everything which is very important. He also treats you as a human being which is out of the ordinary at Union Hospital. He could be a surgeon at many larger hospitals. Please Union hospital dont lose one of the great physicians do whatever you have to so Dr. Levitt will not leave.

The nurses and Drs are nice and friendly. The hospital is very nice and clean! But sat in ER over 2 hours! But its like as soon as the Dr. Sees you they totally forget about you! Sit in the damn room waiting and waiting! How do they feel when theyre made to wait a long time for someone???? WoW!
