I have very mixed emotions about this practice, and Ive been going here for years. On one hand, I have had terrible issues with billing resulting in several bills for a few hundred dollars each time I go. Every time I would call to find out what happened, they would tell me that the quote was just an estimate and they never know what will be covered til it comes back. I was NEVER told until today that my newest insurance is out of network for them (I started with a new company 2 years ago). The office manager Krista didnt call me herself, and told another employee to tell me that she had told me theyre out of network several times. Ummm, thats not true Krista, or I would have found another practice 2 years ago, thanks. Shes always been rude, and Im not sure if thats just her personality or if its just me. So if youre a single parent who can afford to cough up several hundred dollars on a whim, and likes to be threatened to be sent to collections any time you inquire about a bill, then this your spot! It doesnt matter that they always get the hundreds of dollars they actually quoted me at the office appt, you better figure out where to get several hundred more right now. I also had a terrible experience with Dr. Diana who did an emergency procedure on me, and I ended up needing a root canal on the same tooth within a week. The only reason I went there for as long as I did (many years) is because Kristas mom, Shelly the dentist, is amazing. Shes very attentive, knowledgable and kind. She made my girls and I feel very comfortable and I will miss her terribly. I also loved the front desk staff and hygienists. I really hope Krista learns much better customer service and kindness as she is a reflection of the practice and could end up getting that office more bad reviews.

I would NOT recommend! Our family moved to Powell and went there for approximately two years before moving out of state. I got my first ever crown done there before moving and then went to a new dentist’s office in Tennessee and they immediately told me the crown was done improperly and it needed to be replaced that I would likely need oral surgery to save the tooth. Totally shocked and always having regular dental appointments with no issues, I decided to get a second opinion from another dentist. A different dentist said the exact same thing and alluded to the fact that I should have never left the office with a crown completed in such a manner. There was a large amount of excess cement on the crown, (clearly visible on the x-rays both dentists showed me) that created a bacteria pocket between the tooth and gum. I ended up having to have very expensive oral surgery to save the tooth and the crown redone properly.

Had an experience for my first cleaning, I go to the dentist regularly every 6 months. However, I moved and went to this place because it was close to home. When I went here, the hygenist cleaned my teeth and said they looked great, then the dentist came with no concern and just said I had 8 cavities that needed filling (just based on Xray) and that was it. No explanation of anything. I felt like they were just wanting to fill to make more business. well, I was shocked because I had just seen a dentist 6 months prior and had nothing. So I sent release of information to them for my previous dentist and for another local dentist. I then received a call a week later from the front desk that they cancelled my appointment for the fillings because I released my information to another dentist and I would no longer be their patient. Definitely not going back here again, would rather go to a more personal place.

The very first time my 3.5yr old and I arrived for our appointments we were treated like family. While I was getting a cleaning (which takes extra long due to TMJ) , Krista was entertaining my little one and manning the front. My daughter loves to go for a cleaning! A couple of months ago we went for a check up and her gums were inflamed due to her molars coming in. She was crying and didnt want x rays bc it hurt. During the cleaning Jenny was so gentle with her she ended up asking for the x-rays! My husband and oldest daughter pair up for appointments and have similar great experiences. Recently she chipped a tooth and we were able to get in immediately to have it repaired. Almost 4 years later Dr. Shelley, Krista, Carol and Jenny (along with the rest of the staff) continue to go above and beyond. For that, I am grateful!

I finally love my dentist office again!!! My favorite dentist recently retired. I went to a dentist in Dublin a few times and had horrible experiences each time. They used pressure tactics to try to get me to schedule an appointment to have things done that were not medically necessary. I went to Powell Dental Group for a second opinion. They confirmed my suspicions that I was being urged to have work done that was not needed. Like me, they care about the structural integrity of my teeth and not superficial, cosmetic dentistry. I thoroughly enjoyed being examined by the extremely friendly and knowledgeable mother daughter team there. I look forward to being in their care from now on.

Dr. Shellie is delightful and makes every visit a great experience. Over the past three years, she placed unique braces behind teeth that should have been implants. She cautioned me on proper cleaning to maintain. This process has delayed significant expense and immense pain. Given she was more interested in her money, she would have taken the easier procedure for her with most money expended. How often do you leave the dentist and wish she could be your best friend??? Likewise, her staff is beyond wonderful. Again, I want to tag each of them as a new friend. Pat Alcorn

We absolutely love Powell Dental Group! Everyone is so friendly, professional, and caring. The office environment is very calming and welcoming. Over the years Ive had a few "emergency" situations and Krista has always been quick to find solutions and get me in as soon as practical. I also appreciate the fact that she is always available for questions. The Powell Dental Group team members are outstanding professionals and they are awesome!! Ive referred a number of friends to the practice and will continue to do so with every opportunity.

This is a money hungry Dentist, that charges $25.00 if you cancel an appointment prior of 24 hours. I had to cancel an appointment at the last minute do to out of my control circumstances and the receptionist stated" Well how do you expect for us to pay our Staff, if we don’t charge you a $25.00 fee", this is unbelievable and no way to run a business. Be prepared to spend a fortune at this Dentist, no matter which one you select. If they are part of Powell Dental Group then I hope you have a fat Check Book!

Our family has been going to Powell Dental group for many years. We feel important from the moment we walk in the door until the very end of every appointment. They are very family friendly! My kids love everything from the TVs at each chair to the quarters they get after each cleaning to use in the prize machine! Dr. Shelley is very knowledgeable and concerned for her patients dental health. We have recommended Dr. Shelley and her staff to many friends and they are happy we did!
