Several months ago, our dog hurt her foot and our nanny had to take her to a vet nearby (our regular vet being an hour away). Cryan was the closest with great reviews, so we gave it a shot. They were super helpful and got her in right away. They are great with both our little terrier and big Doberman. The staff always greets us and our dog with a happy voice and lots of attention. All procedures are explained and even some options for the budget-minded were given when our dog had to have surgery, which was much appreciated. The reminder appointment calls and prompt call-backs with answers and updates are helpful. I also have to give a shout out to them for going the extra mile. I have two young children and taking them to the vet is an adventure. The staff was more than willing to bring our dog out to the car where I was waiting when she was done so I didnt have to schlep both kids into a waiting room--this mom thanks you! Based on Doctor Cryans degrees on the wall, this practice has been around since the 70s and the decor reflects that, but the staff, equipment, and procedures are top-notch and the decor adds a perky charm. I also very much appreciate the procedures they have in place for when someone is putting their pet to sleep--Ive never seen that at a vet before and having that little candle lit on the front desk helps to show they care about pets during their whole cycle of life. Weve only been there a few months, but are happy to have found our new vet home.

This wonderful veterinary practice has been a part of the Westerville community for as long as I can remember, and Im old! Youll always see smiles and happy people who truly love animals. From the front office staff, the vet techs and especially the docs, the moment you walk in everyone is friendly, helpful and caring. My Chihuahua, José Joaquín, sees Dr Hoffman and we love her! She takes her time and listens to all concerns and makes sure I am informed and fully understand all treatment options. Two years ago, when we were unexpectedly faced with a necessary surgery to remove a mast cell tumor, Dr. Hoffman tailored my little buddys treatment plan as to be as affordable as possible without compromising his care. One of the vet techs even called me four times to calm my fears and update me with every step. Once before anesthesia, when surgery began and again when he was safely awake and in recovery. The fourth call was sweetest of all. Time to pick him up! They are able to keep their costs reasonable because they have remained a small practice for over 40 years, still operating from the same building on West St where they have been since I was a kid. And of course, as always, the belly rubs, doggie cookies and tushy scratches are plentiful! Well, I mean for José...me, not so much. I usually pass.

My first baby passed away 20 days before his 16th birthday. Six months later we rescued a puppy that had been born in a very rural area of KY and had minimal human interaction, my sister-in-law is a postal person in the area and had been feeding the Mom & Dad when they had the puppies. She continued feeding them, when one day she went and found all of the puppies had been shot and/or drowned. One was left for dead and wasnt and thats my Lucy Lu. Youd never know they were abused, she has the sweetest disposition. Shes leary of people, but loves other animals. I had her fixed (laser) when she was six months old and her ears cleaned at that time (it looked like tar in her ears) and they had to really clean them out. She got another ear infection shortly after and when I brought her in, youd have thought they were cutting her ear off and they were only trying to look in her ear, they ended up having to muzzle her. She did so good though. And to trim her nails, it takes at least two techs and a veterinarian, sometimes three techs. She always gets scared but when its over shes all smiles and even thanks the ladies. They are so nice throughout the whole process (and it is a process). I wouldnt take Lucy Lu anywhere else. Except MedVet - the most awesome emergency hospital in the U.S.!

We moved out to Sunbury a year ago and I wanted to switch to a vet closer to us. It was a disaster. Not only did they charge more than Cryan ever did, they pushed me to get my 12 year old dog vaccinated which I didnt want to do. It was all about getting me to spend more $. I will never go back there again. We also (when our dog was just a puppy) tried another Westerville vet before we found Cryan and had a similar experience. Two weeks ago, just before our dog died we returned back to Cryan where you are treated like family. They respect your animal and your opinion. I particularly like Dr. Balazs who is more holistic in her approach to treatment (if that is your desire). Our dog was very sick and they were helpful, honest, and kind. There was very little we could do and I didnt want to extend his life for our sakes. He died on the way to Cryan where we were going to put him down. We still went to have the tech check. He also offered to make a paw print and give us a casket so we could bury him on our property (at no charge). We strongly recommend Cryan for your needs. They are very reasonably priced and most importantly do whats best for you and your animal. We will definitely go back if we get another pet even if we have to drive 30 minutes one-way.

Long story short, our dog hurt her leg and started limping around 315pm on a Saturday (Cryan closes at 4pm). So I thought I would call to get their opinion on where we should go for after hours care. Since we live close, they told us to bring her on down directly to them. We got there around 345, and the entire staff was great! They basically stayed open for us until after 430pm (or course they closed the lobby and all that stuff as usual. They were friendly, and help pinpoint that it was a muscle strain, gave us some meds, and we were on our way. 2 days later and she is back to normal. They could have easily turned us away since I called so close to their closely time, but they took the time to see, and they were well priced, even better than what I expected, and I am a penny pincher. I 100% would recommend them!

VERY pleased with my experience at Cryan Veterinary Hospital. They got me in the same day that I called. They even bumped up my appt time when someone else canceled. From the phone calls, Shannon & Kim, to the nurse (Courtney), to the Vet/Partner (Dr. Balazs), we (my cat & I ) were treated with EXCELLENT care. Dr. Balazs & Courtney calmed my skittish cat down. They spent enough time with us to make me feel like they genuinely cared about my cats care. They answered ALL of my questions & did not talk down to me in any way, like I have experienced at other places. I would definitely come back here again & would recommend to friends and family. Thank you, Cryan!
