My son n laws parents from England come every summer for a month they enjoy spending 10 days at the coast. This visit in September his mother was chasing the youngest grandson of 3 on the side walk and fell hurting her leg and knee. The doctor in Newport who saw her recommended she wear a brace and crutches. He also suggested we contact Kath Schonao to get a few hours daily to assist his mother . I work with In Home Care agencies on a regular basis in my line of work. I am a consultant for elderly and disabled adults I was so impressed with the quality of care,& the owner stopped by to say hello to her newest client. Kath even gave us a list of place to see or eat, she & staff made a sad situation so enjoyable. I wish she was in Portland to help others in need of quality consistent type care. They returned to England ( Manchester) today both of his parents told everyone of the great care she received so promptly in Newport and how Kath( the Owner) was truly interested in the many travels to United States. Kath Schonau, who owns and oversees all aspects of this community service organization (which has been chosen best care oversight for the last five years through a News Times survey) is an extraordinary individual who has given Newport the choice for seniors living here on the coast to stay in their own homes with highly experienced caregivers.. I chose to work for this company after reading an interview with Ms Schonau in the local paper. She is a RN and serves on the local Hospital Board. I was so impressed with her credentials and her vision for elder home care choices that I met her and asked what I could do without medical training. Since then I have worked for AWHH for a little over three years as a companion, driver and cook. Not only does AWHH take outstanding care of their clients, Ms Schonau takes excellent care of her employees. AWHH is a wonderful asset for our community and I am proud to be a member of her team.

Aging wisely cared for my parents in their home for five years, and had an incredible impact on their lives. Mom and dad were able to stay in their home long after they would otherwise. The caregivers are well trained, caring, and compassionate - they really care about the people they care for. When mom finally had to move to a foster home for 24 hour care, she was more upset about not seeing "her girls" than about leaving her home. Through the years, Aging wisely was incredibly flexible and accommodating to our scheduling needs. I live about two hours away from my parents home, and I cant tell you how many times a medical issue would come up, and no matter what time of the day or night, Aging wisely would keep caregivers with mom or dad until I could arrive to assist. They made a huge difference in my parents lives, but also, as a caregiver, they took a tremendous burden off of me. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Aging Wisely provided excellent service for my father in his home for close to five years. The care providers grocery shopped, prepared meals and did light housekeeping for him. Most importantly the providers were friendly and compassionate. The office staff was always flexible in adjusting the schedule to meet Dads needs. The people in the office were always friendly and very professional. Kath, the owner is incredibly knowledgable about the care needs of seniors. She is also one of the kindest people we have ever worked with. She always took time to listen and offer excellent advice concerning my fathers changing needs. She was extremely helpful in recommending other services once my father could no longer safely live alone. My father was able to stay in his home longer because of the support of this wonderful agency.

I have had the pleasure of working for this fantastic, caring company for 6 years. In those years I have cared for many people who needed very intense medically related care to assisting with light medical care and companionship. The company leadership, nurses, and office personnel are always right on top of things as best they can in an environment that I have seen can be chaotic. Regardless the stress of seeing that every client has proper care and coverage, I have always been treated with a pleasant attitude and have always been assisted with any needs that have had. Aging Wisely was a godsend in our lives, helping us to troubleshoot and problem solve as our mother declined (with dementia). They were available in so many capacities, first as a consultation as we tried to figure out how to support our mother with health care proxies and other long-term planning, and then, with finding a compassionate memory care facility and navigating the social service systems. Kath was our primary contact and she was AMAZING. When it came time to moving our mother half way across the country, her creative ideas were spot on and helped to make a daunting task into something manageable. I have only been working for AWHH for a couple of months, but they are the most impressive in home care agency I have worked for. Over the past 5 years I have worked for two other in home care agencies, and Aging Wisely has absolutely amazed me with the attention to detail and the amount they care for their caregivers and clients. As an employee I have felt appreciated, supported, and well prepared for my assigned shifts. I would HIGHLY recommend them for anybody looking for a rewarding position, or for a family member who needs additional help.

Regarding Tessa Ns review: Aging Wisely with Heartfelt Hands has never had a client by this name and believes that this review was written by a disgruntled past employee. After investigating this review, YELP agreed that it was not a legitimate review and removed it. Google states that they are not able to investigate reviews due to the sheer number of reviews they receive and so cannot remove it. Please note Aging Wisely with Heartfelt Hands has been rated the Best In Home Care Agency in Lincoln County in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015!

9pm. I called my mom, the gal on the phone could not tell me a phone number for the nurses station she said if I had any questions at all I had to contact the office when it was open during business hours and all I wanted to do was talk to mom or talk to the nurse see how moms doing because shes been having a rough few days. My mom is there as a post op from cancer operation and is a late night person. Did not know of any way to call the place or of any phone numbers except the office. After hours phone service??? What service????
