The Eye Department gave me one of the best experiences Ive ever had getting new glasses. For background, I had just had new lenses put into a pair of previously purchased frames at another optometrist, which is fancy enough that I expected quality care, closer to my house. The people there were not very helpful and, frankly, didnt do a very good job with my glasses. They didnt even offer to adjust the frames to my face. I had to ask and then they were so curt about it, that I didnt feel I could ask for necessary additional adjustments to get a proper fit. I had another pair of frames that needed lenses, so I went to the Eye Dept, which had been recommended to me by a colleague. The people working were all friendly, knowledgeable, and they took as much time with me as if I had purchased the frames there. They explained all the options clearly, with no pressure, and answered my (many) questions about the various coatings and materials. My new glasses came back quickly, and then they spent time getting the frames to sit evenly on my face (who knew I had one ear higher than the other?). I even came back a week later to get additional adjustments, and they were super friendly and got the glasses just right for me. While I was waiting, I asked them if they could adjust my frames from the first (bad) optometrist, and they said "of course!" and got those frames to fit me properly too. I whole-heartedly recommend The Eye Department for all of your eye needs. Dr. Annie is incredible and I cant wait to have a reason go back and get a pair of the fabulous frames they sell in the store!

So I showed up at Eye Department for a late afternoon appointment, that I had apparently made somewhere else!?! Oops! Not sure how I managed that one, but I am SOO glad I did! Dr.Annie offered to stay late, and did full eye exams for both me and my fiancé, on what turned out to be a walk in basis! She was amazing, and put us completely at ease. She treated us like we had been loyal patients of hers for years. And when it came to time to pick out frames Zoe and Michelle were a tremendous help! Everyone at Eye Department made me feel extremely comfortable, they were all so knowledgeable, accommodating, and genuinely seemed to enjoy what they were doing. Oh AND my glasses were done a week later; to the date- not a business week later- ONE calendar week later, it was an absolutely ideal experience! To this day I still have no idea where it was that I actually made that appointment, or how I got it mixed up and ended up at Eye Department - But I couldnt be happier- with everything: the overall experience, the staff, the selection of frames, reasonable prices, quick turn around, EVERYTHING. I am so SOOO glad I ended up at Eye Department, it was the best mistake Ive ever made, and from now on both me and my fiancé will be loyal clients

Eye Department made going to get glasses something I had to do, to something that I cant wait to do. I have never had an experience quite like the one I get at Eye Department. Dr. Bacon, or Dr. Annie as my son calls her might be the nicest person on earth and makes you feel so comfortable and welcome when youre there. Shes so awesome she made my son wish he had glasses so he could come see her more often to the point where he was in tears, before telling him he still gets to get his eyes checked every year and see her anyways. Kids and adults alike will feel welcomed and relaxed in their store. I couldnt be more pleased with my experiences at Eye Department. I would recommend it to anyone.

We all know there are many choices when I comes to getting your eyes checked and prescription renewed but for me I insist on being taken care of by someone who is going to provide the best care for me. Dr. Annie is very thorough and complete when it comes to taking care of her patients and she came highly recommended. She is also professional and polite, taking the time to get to know you and decided what type of treatment is going to give the best outcome for your particular situation. You will not be disappointed or let down when you put your eye health in her care.

Ive been looking for glasses for the past 3 months, looking in several different shops throughout Portland. But when I walked in here it felt different. Very welcoming, they actually helped me search for a pair of glasses similar shape to the ones I already have, like I requested. With their help I found a pair- just what I was looking for! Because I already loved it there I scheduled an appointment through them, got in a week later and Dr. Annie was just as helpful as the rest. Ill be making this place my new go to for any eye appointments.

My experience with the Eye Department blew away my expectations. From the friendly staffed that greeted and checked me in, the ultimate professionalism of Dr. Annie, the process of choosing the right frames for me - I have a really small head and have a hard time finding something that looks right - and they took the time to work with me and find a pair that fit perfectly, both in my budget and on my face. I would highly recommend them to serve your eye care and eye ware needs.

I did my annual eye exam with Dr. Annie a few weeks ago and it was very thorough. Great experience – The front desk ladies were nice and warm. Dr. Annie was professional, kind and fun to talk to. In the end of the exam she walked me through a few simple exercise that may benefit my eyes more in short & long term. I’ve been doing them ever since and my eyes already got much relieved from intense computer work. Will definitely recommend this place to family and friends!

From scheduling appointments and the exam itself to navigating insurance policy questions and ordering contacts, I always feel like a valued customer and am confident Im in good hands. Dr. Annie is such a wonderful eye doctor. I have always had trouble with my contacts and she took the time to have me try 3 different sets over a 2 week period. Her patience and determination to get me into something comfortable and to improve my vision was so appreciated. My eyes are not as dry,my vision is better and I can wear them all day and night with no discomfort. I am so glad she offered other lenses for me to try.

Ive had such an amazing experience at Eye Department! The people, customer service, and products/frame selection are awesome! Michelle and Zoe are incredibly personable and professional. Zoe was very attentive and found me the coolest frames ever! I love them! Dr. Annie is so friendly, caring, and fun. She is extremely knowledgeable and thorough. Dr. Annie and her staff are great. I have been going to Eye Department since it opened in 2013 however I have been seeing Dr. Annie for four years prior to that. Dr. Annie does not rush the exam, she takes the time to understand not only your eye health but also your overall health. She also takes time to get to know you on a personal level. Eye Department has a great selection of glasses and options for lenses.
