The best eye care center me and my family has ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Orginally I was looking for a close walking distance eye care center because I was not mobile and one that accepted state insurance, and Tacoma eye care center was the only one around me. It was a friday.. I went in to make an appointment for my husband who needed his glasses asap. When I arrived at the location Tacoma eye care center office is part of a plaza which looked like it predominately catered to Asian people but when I went in lady at the front desk was very welcoming and she was able to fit my husband in later that day at 5pm (closes at 6 on friday) since she was able to fit him in I asked if I was able to be fitted in too and she was which is rare...but great for us. We we got there there was no waiting time the Dr saw us right away by the time both of our exams were completed it was 15 mins til closing time. The tech that helped us was very knowledgeable very easy to speak with and offered his input on things that we didnt know. We ended up pickin designer frames and after that he asked the Dr who was now waiting to close up if he could wait 15 minutes to get my glasses made for me (WHICH WAS THE BIGGEST BEST SURPRISE FOR US) because we assumed like everywhere else weve been for eye care that our glasses wasnt going to be ready for a few weeks but THEY DO IN HOUSE PERCEPTION GLASSES....but I wasnt ready for that lol. To wrap this up, Tacoma eye care center has exceeded all of my expectations with the great friendly knowledgeable staff and the Dr was very professional explaining everything that he was doing and going the extra step to educate me on the importance of my eye care. I would highly recommend TACOMA EYE CARE CENTER TO ALL PEOPLE. if anyone sees or writes any bad reviews about Tacoma Eye Care Center, I would only believe that /those person/people has a bad day before interacting with Tacoma Eye Care Center!!!!! Dr. Jason Gim is an excellent doctor who has honed his skills throughout the years in order to be efficient and precise with his eye exams. It is very unfortunate when a receptionist has to taint that good image with their naive ignorance. Today, I called in to ask whether they take Walmart insurance. (Despite the blatant name I guess its okay to not know what kind of insurance WALMART insurance is...) I eventually had to give the male receptionist the phone number to my insurance to which he finally had the will to take up to his duties and look it up. He said that they didnt take our insurance and hung up. He just hung up. No, there was no "Thank you. Goodbye." but, honestly, I didnt dare expect anything polite from this guy. I called a few more times because I had a few more questions. No answer. Finally, on the 5th try he answered! He gave me some excuse that he was suddenly busy with customers... I guess its okay to ignore a patient by just hanging up.

I called last minute with a new vision concern (after recent move to Lakewood area). It was important to me to be seen this morning. This was the third optometry office that I called. When I arrived, it was a little intimidating that there was so much asian writing on the sign, but all the forms were in English (as well as some asian language, I think maybe Korean) and all the staff were friendly and spoke excellent English. I had almost no wait (none after the forms were complete). The equipment was very impressive and gave me more confidence than I expected in the quality of the evaluation that I received. I was not the most cooperative patient ever - not that I didnt try but my eyes didnt cooperate - and have had some impatient examiners in the past, but felt none of that with Dr Gim. This is definitely my optometrist office as long as I live here, though not the closest to my home or office.

i am college student here for the summer and i needed a routine eye exam. i was referred to tacoma eyecare center by a family friend and was not disappointed because the equipment is really patient friendly. we all dread getting our eyes dilated with the 15 minute wait period for that special eyedrop to take effect and the oversensitive eyes afterward. Tacoma eyecare center had a machine that took a picture without pupil dilation and Dr.gim.took the time to describe what the image of my eye showed. the atmosphere Is great with friendly and knowledgeable staff. They have a great selection of.frames in designer brands from versace to raybands. Overall my experience there was very satisfactory and i highly recommend them; you will not be disappointed

I have no insurance so I called around looking for offices in the area with the most reasonable price on eye exams and contact lense exams. This office was without a doubt well worth every penny! Dr. Gim was able to find my exact contact lense fitting within minutes! My old brand of contacts is now out the door due to these amazing new comfortable ones. I suggest this office to anyone looking for a quick complete detailed exam! BTW, they had tons of frames and sunglasses! Just to name a few I liked, Raybans, Gucci and a few others that were very AFFORDABLE! definately coming back! check them out

I had no idea which clinic to choose to get my eye exam. So I looked on the internet and found Tacoma Eyecare. The office staff was very professional, polite, and answered any questions that I had. Dr. J. Gim gave me excellent service, he has some of the best equipment I ever seen in an eye clinic. He thoroughly explained everything step by step. The best part about my visit was I received my glasses within 15 minutes. I think Tacoma Eyecare has gave me the best customer service I have received in a long time. Thank you so much Dr. J. Gim and staff.. :)

Two thumbs up! One for being supper friendly and kind. - Both the doctor and staff took time to answer my questions and showed a genuine interest in my well-being. Another thumb for being extremely competent - Very modern machines (during the second visit the doctor took a cat scan of my retina). - Doctor Gin is was very knowledgeable. A third thumb for being affordable :)

I am going to college this autumn so I decided to get new a pair of glasses because I feared that my eyesight has gotten worse. As Dr. Gim examined me, it turned out that my eyes were same as before. The procedure only took few minutes and after I got my new glasses, the staff members gave me few extra tips which helped me a lot. If you have trouble with your eyes I assure you to visit here.

I believe I worked with Jason. He helped me out and was very patient with me in deciding my first pair of prescription sun glasses. I had questions and he delivered answers. I had a very specific request about my eye wear and he got me exactly what I needed. Thanks man it is very appreciated.
