I had a horrific experience at Westover Dental with Dr. Adams. Dr. Adams and the dental hygienist assisting her made no discernible attempt to be gentle during my 90-minute procedure. They banged, pinched and poked without any apparent sensitivity to how stressful and uncomfortable it can be to have two sets of hands and an array of sharp instruments in ones mouth at the same time. They exclaimed over things they found distressing as if they didnt realize this would also cause me distress. Dr. Adams did her best to keep me informed about what she saw, but to the point where she was asking me what I wanted, rather than telling me how best she could help me. Then she drilled and poked my gums without any numbing agent. Seeing me white-knuckled, wringing my hands from the pain, she suggested next time I get an Ativan prescription, implying that I was simply experiencing a common phobia of dentists. To their credit, they did take into account my uninsured status by conferring with me about the cost of the visit, but they did so in such a completely unprofessional manner, I was flabbergasted. I was asked repeatedly to make financial decisions about procedures while I was barely able to talk, their hands still in my mouth. These were decisions that could have and should have been discussed afterwards, not while Im in pain and distress, but it became apparent that Dr. Adams was in a hurry to see the next patient. She and the hygienist bickered pointedly over my head, accusing the other of taking too long to do her job, until Dr. Adams finally left without much explanation or follow-up. The hygienist, while warm and personable, rushed through my patient history enough so much that she accused me of not having a previous procedure that would have prevented my needing so much work today- - a procedure I did indeed have, which Dr. Adams herself performed. I felt rushed and bullied into buying expensive whitening trays to reduce gum inflammation. The gal who showed me how to use them never once made eye contact. She acted rushed and put out to even need to be spending time answering my questions. She was short and sarcastic when I asked her several times for clarification. I work in a health clinic and understand the demands of keeping to a schedule and the frustrations of trying help patients who often ignore their own self-care. However, terrifying and berating a patient or disregarding their need to be comfortable and calm during a procedure indicates a poor bedside manner and a disregard for patient care. Dr. Adams might seem friendly, she might also be quite knowledgeable, but I will never return to this place again. She runs an awful business and she needs to make an appointment at her own clinic to see just what it feels like to have her mouth placed in such dubious care.

I am, as most people are, not a fan of the dentist. I put it off as much as possible, and dread it when I have to go. I am new to Portland, so finding a dentist wasnt something I looked forward to. I chose Westover Dental Clinic from my insurance website, as it was walking distance from home so it was convenient. I gave them a call and was able to get an appointment within a week. Before going to my appointment I looked at the google reviews. That made me extremely nervous because the were mostly not good. I can definitely say I will think twice after reading google reviews again because I seriously couldnt believe how good my experience at Westover was. It is under new ownership, and the dentist is kind, patient, caring, and best of all GENTLE! The staff is friendly and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way. If you are looking for a dentist in the Portland area I HIGHLY recommend Westover Dental Clinic. I am actually looking forward to my next checkup.

I just visited this dental clinic for the first time and it was hands down the best dental experience ive ever had in my life., and im very into my teeth and their upkeep. The staff is wonderful, I always felt completely comfortable, the hygienist was thorough and friendly. the whole experience was damn near painless which is saying a lot bc i have receeding gums from clenching. i also have a smaller mouth and some dentists in the past have just seemed annoyed with me about that. they keep the water flowing through the cleaning so everything is just washed away. very minimal with the scraping effect that ive experienced at so many other places. they were very attentive with the suction as well which is key. they have this little camera that shows this super close up live footage of your teeth on a tv screen in front of you! id never seen such a thing. i highly recommend!

Ive never written a review but feel it is absolutely necessary to do so now. This is the most incompetent and bizarre group of dentists etc. out there. Let me ask you...How do you screw up a filling? Or 2? Or how about 2 on 2 different people from 2 different dentists from the same clinic. Well, they did here. My girlfriend has to have a root canal from her botched up dental job even!! I wish I had done my reseach on this place before hand. PLEASE BE WARNED>>>DO NOT GO HERE!

This is by far the worst dental experience I have ever had. I think I need to report Dr B to someone. His techniques are outdated and he is very rough. He messed up my procedure and I have been in pain for 2 months now as result. His equipment is old and does not always work. He completely lacks competence. His staff are very young and lack professionalism and the office set up is just not acceptable.

Westover Dental is awesome. The office staff are warm and the dental technicians are the best Ive ever been treated by. The user name on the dental equipment is Joe Obama, but Dr. B he never lets on as to which angle is coming from, hes a professional. Also, theres a reserved parking lot right in front.

3 generations of my family and I have been seeing Dr Adams and Dr Belusko for over two decades and they have always done a great job and we wouldnt dream of going somewhere else (unless we happen to be out of the state!). :)

Very knowledgable and professional. Your teeth will be TINGLY clean! 4 stars rather than 5 because they tend to chat with you while their fingers are in your mouth and you cant respond. Will definitely return!
