Incompetent Operative and Post-Operative Care While the staff at Crossroads veterinary clinic is generally friendly and basic care is adequate the poor surgical approach they exercised when handling my dog during his neuter and nasal resection was unnacceptable to me. It is my opinion as a healthcare researcher of over 10 years, and based on the independant opinions of two other highly trained and experienced veterinarians, that my dogs scrotal sutures were significantly overtightend and spaced too far apart leading to a buckling of the suture line. Further, in both the nose and scrotal incision, the staff at Crossroads used a bioabsorbable suture for a transcutaneous stitch which while acceptable in the short term, by their own admission is not acceptable for long term (>3 weeks) implantation. After two weeks, and the time for suture removal, the swelling in my dogs nose had become so severe that he would have bouts of air gulping in the AM. They refused to remove the sutures from his nose siting an inability to perform a conscious sedation which is false. Additionally, they backt-racked with excuse after excuse contradicting their earlier claims as to why it was OK to use the absorbable suture when it was clearly causing issue. When told of the obstructed nares in the morning and how the breathing was compromized during certain times of the day the response was dismissive stating that, "I have a hard time believing that." It is my opinion that belief does not factor into a factual conversation about animal wellfare or the appropriate use of medical supplies. When confronted with the poor and non-standard care they had provided, the half baked excuses did not hold up to scrutiny and they were unwilling to admit an error in judgement or practice or to resolve the issue they had caused. To avoid belaboring many additional points I will summarize by stating that the ability and willingnesss to resolve the problem was completely unsatisfactory. As someone with a body of work experience in human and animal surgical models, and as someone who had the presence of mind to consult other veterinarians before forming my opinion, I strongly advise anyone requiring operative care for their animal to avoid this location as their surgical protocols result in substandard outcomes and care.

Ive been meaning to do this since we had to put our dog down in February, but forgot; until I had to call them yesterday as our new vet isnt open on Sunday. (We have since moved too far away to use Crossroads.) Our main vet was Dr. Smith, but our experience was the same: practical, compassionate, knowledgeable, etc. They even came to know my dog by name when I walked in the door. How cool is that?! Over the six years we use this clinic, our dog had several serious and chronic health issues. We always received excellent care, and loved how they always found a way to fit you in. (Their business hours are super.) Usually we got a couple of different treatment options with different price levels, and clear info on what we would probably "get" by going this option or that, which were very helpful in decision making. Anytime he had a major health event, we got a follow up call to see how he was doing. When the tough day came, we had the same great experience as the other folks did. It was wonderful to be able to drive around back, and receive one on one care, compassion and attention for the last few minutes of our dogs life. I cant recommend Crossroads highly enough.

My German Shepherd was very ill. Turns out she had pyometra. We ended up going to VCA Rock Creek Veterinary Hospital in Hillsboro/Aloha off of 185th. After their $2500 - $3000 quote for the surgery we left discouraged. We frequented Crossroads when we lived closer and decided to wait until they opened the following day. We made the right choice. Our beloved puppy (10 years old) is alive and well. The folks at Crossroads went above and beyond. We would make that drive every time. Dr Keith was attentive to our dog, and to our family budget. We got the surgery done for $1000. This was the best price we found after calling 3 total vets and the service was second to none. Youve won our loyalty and we thank you for all youve done for us.

They care about your animals. They agreed to charge me only $350 for a emergency treatment that other facilities wanted to charge $900-$1,100 for. I must have called them 10+ times over 3 days with questions about my cat and her surviving kitten. They were more than happy to answer them all, AND they gave ME a call to check up on her and her baby. I think Dr. Utsey has great bed-side manners and is super nice and knowlegable! I love this veterinary hospital! And on our very first visit they understood that I had $60 for the visit so they did everything they could to help my animal within my limit! Thanks Again!

Hands down, the best Veterinary Hospital out there. I have been taking my dogs to Crossroads for a decade and have been pleased each and every time. Good customer service, great vets, fair prices etc. The hospital is clean and nice and you never feel as if they are trying to "rack up" the bill on unnecessary services. I have referred two other families as well and they are just as happy. I dont live close to Crossroads, but its WORTH the drive every time.

I have only just recently started taking our dogs to Crossroads and have nothing but nice things to say about all of the staff and vets I have met. They actually spend time with you and I feel comfortable asking all my questions. We also had to put down our dog and they made a horrible situation better. There is a private entrance and the staff were so caring and friendly. I will recommend this vet to everyone I know and take all my animals to see them!

I would recommend to anyone thats going to have there pets ears cropped that they would go to Crossroad Vets. I know allot of people here in the bremerton and Seattle area that breed show dogs and I will highly recommened you to them. Thank so much for everything. 5 stars Michel Meacham

We first took our border collie to Crossroads in 1998. Brook is 18 years old now and still healthy and active -- much of the credit goes to Doctors Smith and Jackson. They have never once gouged us on price. Their facilities are excellent and they treat Brook with all the love that we do. I cant think of another business that I go to, that I endorse as completely as I do Crossroads Veterinary Hospital.

We have been going to Crossroads since 2002. It is an outstanding veterinary hospital that cares for domestic pets with a passion for their well-being like none other I have ever before seen. The staff and Doctors are approachable, knowledge, and generous with their time during appointments, and during drop-off/pick up for boarding. Mrs. Laura Comiskey

The office is extremely clean, the people are professional and friendly. They know my dog by name, and its easy to make appointments in a short time-span. The anal gland and toe-nail trim cards (5 visits and the 6th is free) is the most amazing policy ever. Any dog owner who needs those things done will know how fantastic that policy is.
