Truly one of the worst dental office experiences I have ever had. My first appt. was for cleaning, the hygienist, Sylvia, was very nice, friendly and caring – turns out she was a sub/temp, but towards the end it felt as if someone was standing in the hall making “wrap it up motions” as she hastily went through the flossing. Dr. Pasalic came in to look at my teeth and x-rays and evaluate the pain I was having. She told the hygienist I needed a root canal – not me, the hygienist. They didn’t want to do the root canal in their office because of the way the root was formed and gave me a referral to an endodontist who did not take my insurance plan. Fortunately I called the insurance company before going in for a $1,200 procedure that would not be covered. The insurance company gave me the name of an endodontist in my area who accepted Delta Dental insurance and I called Blue Bell Dental back to have the referral changed. I was in serious pain. After days of calling back and forth between them and the insurance company they still had not done anything to straighten out the referral – my understanding was that all they had to do was contact the insurance and tell them “she needs to see a specialist because….” and they would put the referral number in my file so that I was cleared to go to the specialist. I was in near tears to the customer service rep at the insurance company and they gave me an “emergency” referral to go see the endodontist for an evaluation and asked that I have his office then put in for an “urgent care” referral number to cover the full procedure and only pay the $300 copay instead of the entire $1,200 that I guess the people at Blue Bell Dental think people don’t mind paying so they don’t have to do their jobs. This was extra work for the endodontist’s staff and not their job, but they worked with me and were fantastic about it so it worked in the end, but people should not be made to jump through hoops to get the care they need. After the root canal I went back to Blue Bell for the temp crown, which was mostly fine, and then scheduled an appt. to have the permanent crown affixed and two fillings repaired/redone. The appt. was scheduled right before Christmas, and they cancelled it because the dentist decided she wanted a day off – not that I didn’t have better things to do that week too, but really, schedule your days off in advance of making appointments or stick to your commitments. I went in for the rescheduled appointment, but they didn’t have me in their records. The squeezed me in to put on the permanent crown, but did not have time to do the fillings, so I had to go back yet again. Also they do not give you any kind of invoice/statement when you walk out that breaks out the specifics of the procedures so you can compare it to your insurance schedule and know what you’re being billed for and just to keep your own records of what was done. Past dentists have given me this, even my vet gives me this. The quality of the dental work was fine, just did not like the way I was treated AT ALL. Oh, and they wanted to pull my wisdom teeth, which are not impacted since I had molars extracted before braces as a teen, just because "theyll need to come out eventually anyway (oh, and we want to make the money off of it)." LMAO at the 3/10/10 review by RIMPLE down below. She IS the front desk staff, so nice “they” remember her by name and greet her with a smile – I’d be kinda worried if “they” didn’t. Sad really. She was the one who didnt seem to care to get my referral fixed.

We are in the middle of a replacement of an old crown. There was little discomfort in the removal of the old crown and in the buildup for the new crown. The temporary crown fit well and is sturdy. The new crown goes in on September 8. I have been happy with the treatment I have received from this office for the past several years. Crown replacement successful. Now moved to fantastic new office. Update 4-27-2017. I am now in the process of getting another crown replaced. Dr. Karsalia found that there was significant decay under an old crown. The replacement involved crown lengthening, which is a periodontal procedure. I was not given an estimate of how much this procedure would cost, so I was a bit surprised. However, I did a bit of research and concluded that the cost of this procedure was fair. The procedure was lengthy, but the periodontist made the procedure as painless as possible. I go back for a check up in two weeks, and the crown will be replaced after that. As you can see, I have had a lot of heavy duty work done at this office, but I think that it was all necessary and I dont suspect pushing of unnecessary services. I am just grateful that I have most of my teeth in the seventh decade of my life.

I have had a pulpotomy and a root canal done at Blue Bell Dental Associates and I plan to have more dental work done there in the future. Both times I was treated in the most considerate and kind manner by both the staff and the dentist who worked on me, a Dr Pascalia. I cant say enough about Dr Pascalia, she is very gentle, explains the procedures thoroughly, and is very soothing and professional. When I explained that I do not have dental insurance, my options were explained (an extraction or a root canal to save the tooth) and when I decided to opt to save the tooth, I was given a hefty discount on the procedure as a non-insured patient. This is a lovely courtesy that you do not often see. As for the office itself, it is in an unassuming little house turned into an office, but the equipment is state of the art. My root canal took only about an hour! The place is cozy, and warm, and I highly recommend the practice to anyone who has, like myself, suffered from arrogant, dismissive or rough dentists in the past.

Overall is OK , I was scheduled for a regular cleaning and they told me that I actually need a deep cleaning .. which will not be covered by insurance as the regular cleaning. They told me it is about 3 hour procedure. I said OK and I scheduled Few days latter I came for the cleaning. I did felt rush .. as someone canceled and they fitted me in the schedule. .. . Doctor did not wait for the gel anesthetic to work and she injected the Novocaine in my gums within seconds after the gel was applied . She did not took the time and it was PAINFUL . The deep cleaning took a little less than 1 hour (even if they told me is probably 3 hour procedure that most of the time is done in two appointments. ) Beside what my insurance paid I was charged $120 . I think the hygienist did a good job , I did felt that she was rushing as it seam to have another patient waiting .
