The feeling I get in this office is a feeling of genuine concern for quality and clarity. Anyone who wants a fast appointment, check in/out in a fixed amount a time, probably has more than one kind of vision problem. And probably should go to a Lens Crafters or someplace else. I have used Dr. Stephen Demko at Professional Eye Associates since I was 18 years old, when he was probably an extern. Its been over 24 years since my first consultation with him. I have not lived in the same state since 1993, but I still consider him my eye doctor. In fact, I have lived abroad from the past 14 years and visit the office perhaps only once every 3-4 years for a check up on my complex eye prescription. I am not an easy client. In fact I am probably a real PITA (Pain In The A..) I barely call in advance. And I always need things in a rush. I have found that without fail, Dr. Demko and his staff have always risen to the occasion. Sure, I do wait in the waiting room. And I see others waiting in the waiting room when my eyes are in a state flux between tests. But the sheer fact that I am never rushed in, or more importantly out, tells me that the doctor and all of his staff are paying attention to my vision problems and needs. I have not been to Dr. Demko since 2008 and called just last week on a Friday (June 2012) to see if I could be fit in to the schedule during my short stay in the U.S. Though they could not immediately find my records, the persistant Anita promised to search them out and did. And was able to schedule my appointment for the following Monday. When I arrived, I noted that Anita remembered some details of our brief discussion on the phone, as I witnessed her doing with several of the patients that followed. It was nice feeling. I appreciated her thoughtfulness for certain. In the waiting room, Dr. Demko immediately recognized me though it has been 4 years. And when in the examination room, he is always candid and consistent with his diagnosis and recommendations. I do recall him telling me in the late 90s about a possible surgery that might help my problem, only to tell me in the later years that he thought it wouldnt be right for me. I find him engaging and informative without pushing unnecessary products or procedures. More importantly, I am certain he has a clear vision for the patient in mind. Its only Wednesday and I am already wearing my newly fitted lenses - feeling great about the entire experience. I can say with confidence that over the years his team has helped me see clearly and comfortably. And with a +6.50 prescription, thats no small feat. They are thorough, extremely competent, patient and honest. I know its a fast-paced world most Americans think they live in, but I personally dont mind slowing down to get my vision corrected. "Clarity, clarity, surely clarity is the most beautiful thing in the world"

DO NOT GO HERE! Very unprofessional and terrible. I spent 3+ hours with their "doctor" only to have my prescription read by a machine, which read it 3x lower than the prescription that I had when I walked in the door. When I pointed that fact out the "doctor" said that this wasnt an uncommon occurrence and that I would be fine. They then proceeded to dilate my eyes and allow me to put my contacts back in THEN check the prescription. So of course with dilated eyes any prescription would look okay. The next day when I couldnt see a thing, I called to figure out what was going on and try and get back into the office, I was offered an appointment back to fix the problem, with the lovely notification that I would "have to pay for the appointment, of course", AFTER I had already paid nearly $200 to have the WRONG prescription given to me in the first place. Ugh. Waste of time. Waste of money. Dont waste your time. Go to a real doctor, not a hammer house thats just after your money.

My first experience with this eye doctors was how thorough they were in examining my eyes! I learned I have a few things wrong and the compassion Dr. Demko has is unbelievable. His staff talks to me more like Im a friend rather then a patient... I never leave a room without a few laughs, which always calms me down! Dr. Demko will come in and talk to me about whats going on and then tell me Im doing great during certain procedures, although I am an adult it is comforting to hear to that. Its extremely easy making appointments, they pick up on what days work best for me and when I walk in they know who I am. Im very cautious with doctors and this was by far the best decision I have made. I cant believe I ever saw anyone but them! I am now on the road to better eye health. My eyes are in good hands and Im grateful for that!

With insurance still very expensive. Red head girl with bob hair cut, she sits behind desk in front of entrance door, she is unprofessional and has no idea what customer service courtesy and manners are. Even if I am dissatisfied with pricing, you still say thank you for your buisness. This is not the first-time I dealt with her rudeness and smugness.

Been going to Dr.Steven Demko, O.D.Since the late 90s He is very thorough and he does sit and explain things to you so that you can understand. The staff is always friendly too. He is so much better the my old eye doctor in Staten Island and these local places up on the mountain. I would definitely recommend Dr. Steven Demko for your eye doctor.

The eye exam service was good. But they charged extra $20.00 for some scan without telling. When I asked what’s for the extra charge, the girl showed me a consent I signed 2 and half years ago and told me that time I agreed to pay for that. Do you think anyone can remember what you signed 2 years ago?
