Terrible service. Im VERY upset at the way I was treated. While at first *acting* very helpful, when I was unable to afford oral surgery because they did not take my health insurance (understandable) tides shifted for the worse. I found a surgeon who DOES take my insurance, and Katsur outright refused to send a referral. After getting my insurance involved, insurance called to inform them that they are not allowed to do what theyre doing and MUST release me, yet they continued refusal. They did not return my calls and just simply were unhelpful and dishonest all while making me feel like a hostage. Beyond that ordeal, the oral surgeon at this facility was cold and distant, did not even introduce himself or really acknowledge me as a human being. It was a bit off-putting but not the end of the world. The hygenist I saw was very sweet and capable, but she works for a terrible company. Unfortunate. Do yourself a favor and find another dentist, not worth it. ***side note: the hygenists, desk attendants, and other personnel were kind and helpful and I feel terrible that they have to work for such an awful practice. I hope they all find somewhere to work where patients are cared for as people and not dollar signs.

I took my daughter in for a braces tightening she had the worst experience with a tech named Kristy. She was extremely unprofessional and she did not seem to know what she was doing she had to leave the room more than once to ask another tech what to do and the Orthodontist himself was getting agitated with her incompetence. She dug into my daughters gums until they were red, inflamed and bleeding then she proceeded to say it was my daughters fault repeatedly. When in reality the Doctor stated that her teeth looked great. The last straw was when she told my daughter she had bacteria pooping in her mouth because all living things poop. At that point I was flabbergasted! And asked another tech to take over. Her bedside manner leaves one to be desired and her lack of knowledge in her field or in biology for that matter is amazingly frightening. If she knew so much she wouuld know that bacteria does not produce fecal material but it can produce carbon dioxide, furthermore all living things do not poop for example plants, jellyfish, BACTERIA. She really needs to retake biology and re-enter dental tech school she also should not be working with patients let alone adolescents.

My brother went there on 9 March and had about 15 teeth polled they never told him when has a follow-up appointment was never called to see how he was doing after that when I called today 9days after his appointment to see when he was supposed to come in and see the doctor for a follow up the woman was very rude to me on the phone and said that he needed to make the follow up appointment I dont know how someone who just had all them teeth pulled and is waking up from anesthesia is supposed to remember to make an appointment and to top it all off I asked about him getting a refill on his pain medication because he is still in a lot of pain she told me there is no one there today to be able to help him and that he needs to call back Monday I asked for An emergency number she refused to give it to me then she proceeded to tell me she would no longer speak to me because I was not the patient I have been the one to take care of everything for my brother as he works all the time so if I was you I would stay far far away from this place they are by far the worst dental experience I have ever seen in my life

I am not a patient and probably never will be after the attitude I received from the receptionist. I just called in to inquire about a few things like how soon I could make an appointment (we all know that most dentists have a very long wait time!) and if the online new customer exam/cleaning/x-ray for $60 was still valid. The receptionist had a very crappy attitude and snapped at me when I told her was just checking a few different places to see who could get me in the quickest. She said "Well, Im NOT going to make an appointment for you if youre going to be calling around!". Um, lady. I didnt ask you to make me an appointment. She also tried to tell me that CLEANING was not part of the new customer deal when I was looking at it right on their website. After she spoke to someone in the background, she came back and testily said that it WAS included. They dont know their own promos either? It was all so off-putting that I dont think Ill be going there.

I love Dr John affolter but his crew is horrible. One woman that handles the phone is always crabby and the rest of the people are constantly on their cell phones. I had an hour wait which was OK but I cant tell you how many times the crew members were in and out of February the office for smoking breaks. Also you can smell is that when they come back in. Never saw any of them washinges hands afterwards. Also have a problem with them overcharging me more than what my insurance allows. This is the 4th time this happened to me. I am still waiting for a refund after 3 weeks from the day my check was issued. None of the phone numberso they give me are usable.a computer tellscience me someone will call back but nobody ever has yet. Now looking for a different dentist

Lousy customer service. I called to check on the status of a surgical authorization and Patti would not help me stating that it was not her job. I very kindly explained that UPMC had no record of receiving an authorization and could she please check their Katsur system to see if it was requested. She told me directly that it was not her job. She did not handle surgical patients and that I would need to call back the next day when someone else would be in to help me. All she had to do was check my daughters file to verify that a request for authorization was sent but she refused. She then put me on hold and an office manager picked up and told me the same thing. Very unfriendly. Very bad customer skills!

This was THE worst dental cleaning I have ever experienced!! The hygienist completely cut up my gums an excess amount, to where it was extremely uncomfortable. Ive never had this done before. I take very good care if my teeth and floss once a day. I cant see why I would need this procedure done. Its been 1 month and I still have hanging skin. They also power wash your mouth its uncomfortable also, gets all over your face. I think I will be on the hunt for a new dentist!

Wish there was an option for 0 stars. Place is very abusive towards their paitents, the front desk woman has a severe attitude problem. They also refuse to take you if you do not do everything yourself. Ive been going for years, stopped because of the verbal abuse, and called today and its even worse. Such a disgusting place to be. Do not go find somewhere else its not worth your frustration.

The general staff is great, however Dr. Jeff in particular treats his staff terribly. He talks to them like they are idiots and with a tone dripping in contempt, right in front of the patients. I feel bad for the staff, but I wont be back as I cant support such a bully.
