I THOUGHT I WAS FORTUNATE TO BE ACCEPTED BY DR. ERICKSON WHEN MY PCP RETIRED SUDDENLY. IT TOOK ONLY A TWO VISITS AND DOZENS OF CALLS TO HER OFFICE, IN AN ATTEMPT TO SPEAK WITH AN ACTUAL PERSON, TO REALIZE THAT SHE AND I WOULD NEVER BE A MATCH. I HAD SOME PRE SURGICAL TESTING DONE (AS PER MY SURGEONS SCRIPT) PRIOR TO SOME ELECTIVE COSMETIC SURGERY. I LITERALLY CALLED HER OFFICE 13 TIMES BEFORE I ACTUALLY GOT TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE. ONCE I GOT IN TO SEE HER, I EXPRESSED MY FRUSTRATION WITH HER OFFICE MANAGEMENT. SHE SOUNDED CONCERNED AND TOLD ME THAT SHE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH HER OFFICE STAFF AND THAT SOMEONE WOULD BE CONTACTING ME TO DISCUSS MY CONCERNS. THAT NEVER HAPPENED. WHEN I LEFT HER OFFICE, I HAD SCRIPTS FOR ROUTINE BLOOD WORK, AND ANOTHER ROUTINE PROCEDURE. I ALSO HAD AN APPOINTMENT SCHEDULED FOR SIX MONTHS LATER. A FEW DAYS AGO, I RECEIVED A CALL ABOUT SCHEDULING MY COLONOSCOPY. I WAS SURPRISED BY THIS PHONE CALL AS IT WAS NEVER DISCUSSED WHEN I SAW HER IN HER OFFICE, AND MY LAST PROCEDURE WAS PERFORMED LESS THAN 5 YEARS AGO WITH NO PROBLEMS INDICATED. IT TOOK ME FOUR CALLS TO HER OFFICE BEFORE I COULD SPEAK WITH SOMEONE TO INQUIRE AS TO WHY I WAS BEING SCHEDULED FOR THE COLONOSCOPY. THE WOMAN I SPOKE WITH ASKED ME WHO HAD CALLED AND THAT SHE DIDNT SEE ANYTHING IN MY RECORD TO INDICATE THAT I WAS TO HAVE THIS PROCEDURE. I WAS ACTUALLY HOLDING A LETTER IN MY HAND FROM A COLONOSCOPY CENTER THAT REQUESTED THAT I RETURN THEIR CALL SINCE THEY HAD NOT BEEN ABLE TO REACH ME AND THAT MY PCP, DR ERICKSON, SCHEDULED ME FOR A COLONOSCOPY. IT WAS AT THIS POINT THAT I EXPRESSED MY FRUSTRATION AND DISAPPOINTMENT WITH DR ERICKSON. I CANCELED MY FUTURE APPOINTMENT AND DECIDED TO HUNT FOR A NEW PCP. TWO DAYS LATER, I RECEIVED A CALL FROM AN IMGING CENTER ABOUT SCHEDULING AN ULTRASOUND ON MY THYROID (AS PER DR. ES REQUEST) WHICH I DO ON AN ANNUAL BASIS. I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THIS SINCE IT IS PART OF MY HEALTH MANAGEMENT ROUTINE. WHEN I RETURNED THE CALL TO THE IMAGING CENTER THAT HAD CONTACTED ME, I REALIZED THAT THIS WAS NOT THE CENTER THAT I HAVE USED FOR THE PAST 15 YEARS (THE CENTER THAT HAS MY RECORDS ON FILE!) IT WAS A CENTER THAT DR. E HAD CHOSEN TO USE. ONCE AGAIN, MY REASONS FOR DROPPING DR. E AS MY PCP WERE SUBSTANTIATED. BTW, I HAVE NO PREEXISTING HEALTH CONDITIONS. I AM FORTUNATE TO BE EXPERIENCING WELLNESS. I COULDNT HELP BUT WONDER WHAT IT WOULD BE LIKE IF I WAS TRULY SICK AND NEEDED TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE IN MY PHYSICIANS OFFICE (OR ACTUALLY SEE DR. ERICKSON.) I GUESS THE COICE WOULD HAVE TO BE A TRIP TO THE ER.

Dr. Erickson is very thorough and always spends the time to ensure that all my needs are covered. I never feel like Im being rushed or that she is straining to leave and see the next patient. Another individual on a google review detailed difficulties that she had with the office staff. However, this is not an issue with Dr. Erickson, as she does not own the practice. Physicians Health Alliance manages the practice.

CORRECT ADDRESS: 1032 N. Washington Ave. Google is NOT correct with the old Wyoming Ave. address. Dr. Janet Erickson is very thorough, with good "bedside manner". The wait time at her office is always reasonable. I do, however, find the system of making an appointment to be ineffective. You have to leave a message for them to call you back, and hope to be at your phone and calendar when you get the call.
