Dr Beck is a wonderful vet. Over the years before I found this practice I had gone to several vets who supposedly worked with rabbits. I found Dr Becks name on the House Rabbit Society website and was so impressed with the difference. She is extremely knowledgeable and loving towards my bunnies. She works with me since I live an hour away and will call in prescriptions or teach me how to do different medical tasks at home when needed. I recently had to have my 8 year old rabbit put to sleep. As crazy as it sounds, I could not have asked for a better visit during a difficult time. She was so loving and compassionate, shedding tears along with me. She explained everything, answered my questions, helped me to feel comfortable with my decision, and make my rabbit comfortable. Dr Beck hugged me as I left, which was more than I got from the family member who came along with me. I appreciated that I did not have to pay my bill on the day I put my beloved pet to sleep but was told it would be mailed to me. I would highly recommend Dr Beck to any pet owners, especially those with rabbits. Shes the best!

First off, anyone going into veterinary medicine should have a love of animals and compassion for their owners. Penn Animal Hospital seems to be somewhat lacking on both fronts. From rude staff...that have become jaded about both animals and people...to doctors that are simply much more interested in the bottom line than patient care, this practice is less than ideal. I recognize that a vet practice is a business...much the same as a family practice. But, they are not selling "widgets" and inasmuch, they should recognize that this type of business is not simply based on how much profit they can squeeze out of their clients. There are many other veterinarians in the area that do a far better job with patient care as well as taking care of the people that walk through their door.

I recently returned to Penn Animal as a client after several years of going to another vet whose high-tech facility and hours had attracted me, but whose consistently mounting costs finally drove me away. I wish Id never left Penn Animal. Both Doctors Beck and Bendokas are experienced, knowledgeable, down-to-earth and compassionate. They, and their staff, have been flexible and accommodating of my difficult schedule, recently going out of their way to schedule a visit with my 11 year-old cat, Bugsy, who was suffering from a persistent upper respiratory infection. I have complete confidence in their ability to deliver excellent care, and am grateful to have them so close at hand.

I dont know the circumstances for those 2 outdated negative reviews but Ive been a regular patient at Penn for 16 years + and I have NEVER found any of the receptionists to be rude or curt! While their personalities differ, the 2 primary ones are/were great, organized and knowledgable. As for the staff, they have been nothing short of friendly, kind and loving to ALL my pets who have ever been patients. Debbie Beck Ross, primary vet and owner, has consistently been thorough, thoughtful and on top of things. She knows when to refer and has always been fair. They have a pharmacy right next door and have always been quite accommodating.

Penn Animal Hospital was always great with my cats. They be on the higher side of price but they do a wonderful job.I never had negative thing about them until one day my cat was not walking correctly so I called about it and they said that thre vet is leaving to pick her kid up at the bus and be up here fast if you want to be here. They never gave me a emergency number to call so with my cat being that bad I told them off and went elsewhere because of that.sadly the cat had to be put to sleep.I would give them a 5 star if it wasnt for that manner that day.My cat went elsewhere right after that.

I have been going to Penn Animal Hospital for a good number of years with my different animals and I have to say whether it was to put 1 down or for treatment, the staff has been wonderful. Dr. Beck is so kind and gentle with my animals-after all, they are just like family. I always am able to get an appointment when I needed one and there is always a follow up call the next day to see how my "babies" are doing.

The best vet ever!! Me and my lil one have been to about 3 other vets in our 13 years together. Penn is the only place that I would ever recommend! The Dr is super knowledgeable, talks with you/listens and takes excellent care of your lil one. They are super good with animals too that can be a lil aggressive, like mine is. They just hold her and talk to her, keeping her calm. Awesome!!! :)

Inconsistent treatment between vets, receptionists are horrible mean and very opinionated. Not compassionate when it comes time to put an animal to sleep. (We waited 45 minutes in an exam room for the vet to finally show up to put our dog to sleep - it was heart wrenching. Then they suggested we just leaver her on the floor, they would get her later.) Just Horrible!

We have a rescue pet with some issues. Hes a sweet boy and he just shakes when he has to go to the vet. EVERYONE in that office from the receptionist to the techs, to the vets have been fantastic with him. The offices are clean, appts. run on time, and getting your prescriptions couldnt be easier. We would recommend this office to anyone!!!

We have been taking our rabbits to Dr. Beck since our rescue recommended her, and she is just wonderful. She thoroughly checks our buns and truly understands the nuances that many vets would easily overlook. It is obvious that she truly cares about the welfare of our sweet little family members!

I was not pleased with this vet. The office staff was friendly, but swamped. The vet, although knowledgable, was not very friendly and I felt gave inappropriate responses to the problems I was having with my pet. Very awkward visit. Would not go back.

Dr Beck listens to me and does not write my concerns off as owner anxiety.
