PAY ATTENTION TO THESE REVIEWS! Dont ignore them like me and waste your time here. I made that mistake thinking the reviews were probably exaggerating... They arent! I pulled into the parking lot at 9:10 for my 9:15 appointment, with paperwork prepared before hand to speed up the waiting time since I read that was an issue for this practice. There was a dirty diaper in the parking lot which I ignored since that couldnt be the fault of the staff. On the steps leading up to the office there were spilled french fries and ketchup... Since nowhere serves fries that early in the morning, they were obviously from yesterday and I assumed it was last night after the office closed. I figured someone would clean that up as the staff HAD to have seen it on the steps in the morning when they arrived. I meant to mention it to the staff when I entered but was taken aback by a room full of people waiting (almost no empty seats). No one from the office greeted me... In fact, I did not see anyone to greet me. I stood there for a few minutes then saw someone in scrubs walking around and went that way. I signed in and sat down in the waiting room. The floor looked like it hadnt been vacuumed in a while and there was a layer of dust on the table in the center of the room. There was a very strong smell (not unpleasant but strong), but it might have been the combo of the patients perfumes which gave me a headache. After 20 minutes I was called to another waiting room where I waited a bit for insurance verification and co-payment, then sent back to the waiting room. Where I waited until a room opened up. At 9:50 I was put in a patient room and waited. And waited. And waited. At 10:50 I thought I heard the doctor call my name in another patients room. I went out to check, but the receptionist told me I was mistaken and that I was next. I left my exam room door open because my patient folder not in the holder and I was starting to wonder whether or not she knew I was in the waiting room. So I waited. And waited. By this time I took a look around the room. The patient room needed to be vacuumed. Heres the BIG no-no: The biomedical trashcan lid had a very thick layer of grime on it, as did the foot petal to open the bin! And then the doctor walked past with her interior decorator. She scheduled a remodeling appointment in the middle of her morning appointments! At 11:10 I started putting my stuff together to get out of there, but she walked in right as I was putting up my book. She looked at the lump I was concerned about for a few seconds, identified it as a spider vein, touched me with UNGLOVED hands (which HOPEFULLY shed just washed but how would I know? She did not wash them in front of me!), and pulled out an incredibly dusty mirror from under the sink to show me. She then took a look at the lump in my ear and said she would have to biopsy it but my insurance needed to approve it. That was it. AFTER ALL THAT WAITING SHE SAW ME FOR LESS THAN THREE MINUTES. I used the bathroom after I checked out. The bathroom wasnt filthy, but the sink was bone dry. I hope the employees use a different bathroom because clearly no one had washed up in that sink all day. I went back to my car and the fries were still on the steps, the diaper still under my car. I called my insurance at 11:21 to tell them about this horrible experience. I have been on Medicaid for 10 years and have NEVER EVER EVER had this kind of horrible experience. It know she is one of the only dermatologists to take Medicaid in the area, but it IS possible to run a busy Medicaid practice and not have these issues of dirt and poorly managed scheduling. Im honestly shocked at what I experienced today.

Let me start off saying I was a patient of Dr. McClerklin for more than 10 years. I am rating her the highest rating for one simple reason. She has been the most knowledgeable Dermatologist, that has taken time to follow my dermatology conditions, and treat me without hesitation. Family Practice physicians are afraid of the medicines i require to treat my diseases. She is friendly, and retains knowledge of your health by following your condition. I absolutely love her!! With all the good being said, I cannot write a review without noting the devastating defects of her poorly run practice. First of all, there is a HUGE shortage of Dermatologists and because of this, her office is SWAMPED!! They are overwhelmed with the amount of volume. However, they do not turn you down for an appointment. Many practices are not even accepting new patients because they are trying to keep better management of their practices. If you schedule an appointment, please know that you will wait. You will WAIT A LONG TIME sometimes. Be prepared for that. If you have small children, try to make first appointment of the day. I would not recommend taking a small child to her in the middle of the day. It would be very difficult for a child to wait for the appointment. I have conditioned myself to their operation, and I must stay with strategic planning I have managed to sacrifice the time for the care. Dr. McClerklin can seem very distracted, and with an overwhelmed practice I can understand why she is so distracted. However, once she became comfortable with me, it made the appointments simple and quick. When she did come into the room, she knew exactly what i needed, took care of me and I didnt have to give long explanations or beg for the medicines I desperately required. Use your own judgement when scheduling with this office, but know that I HIGHLY recommend her!!

I should have read the reviews. Please, please don’t go to this doctor. She is only concerned about getting more money out of you. I went there for a specific reason (bobby pin injury) and she tried to convince me I “may” have alopecia from which I don’t and asked me a few times about the last time I had blood work done. Instead of taking a biopsy at that moment (which isn’t uncommon) she wanted to schedule me to come in for another visit and then for another visit after that. If you are the slightest bit naïve this lady will definitely try to take advantage of you. No, I’m not a doctor but I’m also not stupid and can tell when a person is trying to take advantage of people. In addition to that, the prescription she wrote me required prior authorization, two pharmacies informed me that is the responsibility of the doctor’s office to call in and get that information. I called Dr. McClerklin’s office several times informing them of what the pharmacy said and they refused to call my insurance company and get the information. I had to call my own insurance company myself and have them fax it to this LAZY doctor office. DO NOT GO TO Dr. McClerklin’s office. You will regret it. So much for trying to support our business (only referring to this doctor’s office).
