This place is horrific. I brought my dog in there who was bleeding out everywhere. She cut herself on a piece of glass and I could not stop the bleeding from her face. I waited for the doctor for 20 minutes, despite the uncontrollable bleeding that was now all over his waiting room. I told him she had been there before, but the account was under my ex boyfriend name. Little did I know, my ex never paid his bill and his account was past due. I OFFERED TO PAY THE BILL IF THEY WOULD PLEASE JUST HELP MY DOG. The doctor still refused me any service, despite my dogs condition and MADE ME LEAVE. I have never been so disgusted in my life. These people dont care about the animals, all they care about is their money. Even in a critical situation. How could anyone be so heartless?! Makes me sick to my stomach. I pray to God this place gets shut down. I will do every and anything I can to let everyone know how horrible these people are working there. My dog could have died that day because of a past due bill that was not even mine! Luckily for her, she was rushed to plateau Animal hospital. As soon as they saw her condition, the entire staff immediately jumped up to the rescue and took care of my dog the proper way. They saved her life, something upper Cumberland veterinary clinic refused to do!!

I adopted a dog from the local animal shelter and in the adoption fee was a spay/neuter so my father and I scheduled the spay/neuter for January 2. My father took her for her spay (her name is Ila) and AFTER they had already performed the surgery they called him to inform him that she was not only pregnant but was almost full term! They KILLED a litter of puppies AND put my dogs life in danger instead of picking up the phone and calling us to let us make a decision. They claim it was their "protocol" and that the shelter wouldnt pay for diagnostic tests, but if they had called US the OWNERS of the dog we would NEVER have gone through with the spay. It could have waited a few months especially since there wasnt a chance she could get pregnant again at our home. On top of MURDERING our puppies they then proceeded to charge us for a rabies shot and worm medicine! But not any pain medicine for Ila. I will NEVER take any animal back there and I am going to spread the word about their IMMORAL and MURDEROUS protocol!

After trying out 3 other vet clinics in town, I can tell you Upper Cumberland is the BEST. They are very knowledgeable, they honestly care about your pets, and they treat you with respect. Ive never had to wait more than 10-15 min for my appointment, and they have already saved the lives of 2 of my pets. Although I have to drive 10 extra min to get there, I will never take my pets anywhere else again. UPDATE: It is 3 years since I wrote my last review, and I felt I just HAD to come in and post an update. I am beyond amazed at the care this vet clinic has for every patient. Even when they are booked solid, they always find a way to squeeze you in if you have an urgent situation. You may have to wait a little longer (up to an hour or so), but they treat you with the same courtesy - and spend the same amount of time with your pet - as if you had scheduled an appointment days in advance. The more I visit this vet clinic, the more thrilled I am that I found them!

Had Several dogs spayed and neutered at this location. The first time i picked up my dogs, and one had a huge gash above its eye, that had to be stapled shut! They said that my other dog bit him. I felt something was wrong, but gave the benefit of the doubt. When taking in my two females, one of them became extremely ill a few days after the surgery. Upon calling, these people said that it wasnt related to the surgery, and that I would have to pay them to check the dog out! How is it not related? The dog was healthy when I took her there, and now she isnt! Speaking with at least a dozen other vets, they said it sounds like there is an infection from the surgery! Now they want us to pay potentially hundreds or even thousands, to fix what they did wrong!

They never get my pets information correct even after several corrections. Every time I arrive with an appointment I still have to wait an hour. They missed a chronic ear infection my dog had which another vet clinic ended up finding. Also, to top it off, my mare recently had an emergency and was unable to get onto the trailer and they wouldnt come out to help her. I was busy with getting her unstuck from the trailer, as she had fallen when we tried to get her in to bring her there, and the vet had the gall to yell at me for making them wait when I finally had a moment to let them know we werent coming. Absolute terrible, terrible place and I will never be back there again with any of my pets.

We have taken all of our animals here for ages, and Mayben has taken wonderful care of each of our dogs and cats over the years. He is the only vet we go to. When my dachshund sustained a spinal injury, she was taken care of and Mayben said he would refer her to a Knoxville surgeon that specializes in this injury if things were worse, but thankfully after a round of steroids and crating for 6 weeks, she made a full recovery. I love how kind he and his assistants are, and how my dogs are treated like actual babies (which they are!), with the highest quality of care.

Awesome staff, awesome doctors, theyve taken awesome care of my labs! We thought we had lost one today, but got there and found out that she had a infection in her uterus. They care so much about the animals and Ill continue to drive 35 minutes, even in emergencies to take my animals to them. When my lab pup was diagnosed with no sockets, they sent her xrays to UT animal hospital and tried to get me the very best care I could for her. I work at a large medical office and 3/4ths of our staff drive the drive to take their animals to this clinic!!!

WARNING!!! This vet clinic is dirty and dangerous! My dog contracted a flesh eating bacteria while under treatment at this vet office. They gave her the wrong antibiotics and by the time I got her to the emergency vet in Knoxville she had lost all the skin off her tail and entire back end. We had to choose thousands of dollars in major surgery and IV therapy or put her down. When I contacted them about this- it was the "too bad for you" attitude! Never go there- drive and pay more somewhere else to save your pets life!

Upper Cumberland Veterinary Clinic was recommended to me by one of my close friends. My family and I visited the clinic and after many years, we continue to take our beloved pets there. They are a great team of vets, who after our dog, Prissy, had to quickly be attended to after she hurt her back, took the time to call and check on her the following day. The team at Upper Cumberland Veterinary Clinic truly care about the animals who come into their lives.
