If you want to see what is wrong with healthcare in america then visit this medical center, they will rip you off and be rude to you while they are doing it. We were scheduled for a pre-screening for surgery at 8:00 am and had to stop by the DRs office first to pick-up the paperwork which also opened at 8:00 am. so we stoppped by the office and went to the hospital at 8:05 am, once there we were second inline behind an older lady that was standing at the counter with no-one assisting her, so after standing there for about ten minutes the only lady in the office hung up her PERSONAL call and sat in her chair and yelled for who was next. once we finally got to the check-in the lady stated "you were supposed to be here at 8:00 and was rude from that point on. Then we were told that we had to have $1500.00 dollars right then and there, even though we checked with them ahead of time and was told that we would only need $130.00 and couldnt go no further untill she had the money in her greedy little hands. so after an hour and a half of screwing around we finally got through with the check-in proccess only to see her start it all over again with the next patient. I strongly urge you to take a little 30-min drive up the interstate to nashville.

Loving Care From Each Staff Person!!! My husband died peacefully of Chronic Liver Failure May 31st at 3:40 pm. He was my first and last love and I will miss him every day. As he struggled with all the complications that the disease entails, he could count on exceptional loving care by the staff at Horizon. He was treated in outpatient care almost weekly by, Stephanie, RN, Amber, RN, Katie, RN, and #2 Katie, RN, Lori, RN and Jackie US, and Martha, US, Kim, RN, and Brenda the lab tech showed such kindness as well as the physicians who also treated him with such kindness. Since his social activities were limited, he didnt get out much to visit. It became almost a treat for him to come in and talk to all the staff and learn about their lives outside of work. He would always recall the things they enjoyed and inquire about those activities and their families. It is with much gratitude that I sincerely thank each one for the love and kindness you gave him. I couldnt have asked for anything more. Each of you exceeded all my expectations. The flowers were so unexpected and very much appreciated. May God Bless each of you. Becky Decker, RN

This hospital has several affiliate community centers in Dickson and a Cancer facility. They diagnosed my colon cancer as a hemorrhoid in 2012. In 2013, they burned my body so badly with radiation that I needed a colectomy. I have been left disabled, barely able to walk, because they burned my spinal cord with radiation. I am still in treatment for this trauma. They have fused all my organs together with radiation. Now, after making dozens of payments to them for 2 1/2 years, they have turned my account over to a credit agency. The agency accepted a payment for the final sum amount due from me in 2015. They accepted payment but did not give proper credit. Now, they have turned me into credit agencies for not paying my bill, the bill I paid in full in 2015. If you can avoid Horizon, I suggest you do so at all cost. If you have cancer, you are better off dead than in the hands of these people. Save yourself, save your sanity, save your credit reputation and go somewhere else.

These people are amazing!! I took my son there last night (friday night) and we no more got sat down in the waiting room that they came out to get him. They were very caring, professional and extremely helpful in explaining everything to us. He is going back there to get his gallbladder taken out as soon as possible. We are used to dealing with Tennova Healthcare and were so impressed with the staff in Dickson. Its worth the extra drive. We were in and out in about 4 hours. At Tennova you wouldve been going through your first roll call to make sure youre still waiting for the mediocre care they provide. We have found a new hospital and will refuse to go anywhere else!! Thank you!!

I went in skin on fire red all over blood pressure at 180/128 and 182/24 when I left . told me they couldnt help me sorry have a great day gave me a steroid I told them it was not working . so they turn around and give me a doctors note out of work for a couple day "just in case I need some days off" her words . when I never even told them I had a job so I left with my BP at stroke level still solid red and skin on fire. With chills it took me 5 mins to walk 30ft to my vehicle because the chills got. So bad !! Horrible and plus every nurse + doctor I saw there why I sat in a room for an hour they were standing at that round desk laughing and gigglig about their partying

In June we had to go to the ER because my husband became ill. We didnt even get settled in a seat in the waiting room before the nurse came out to get us. Each of the nurses were attentive and caring. It wasnt long at all before the doctor came in. We explained what we thought was going on, but he wanted to make sure it wasnt something else. We were SO glad he did. Turned out my husband had pneumonia! He has emphysema and a bad case of pneumonia can end his life. We couldnt have gotten better care from the doctor, nurses, x-ray tech, and registration clerk. Thank you for great service!

The hospital building is not the issue for some of you who marked a low star. The issue is the people you are dealing with. If you find that a staff is rude or not to your liking, you can always request another person who can take care of you. Ask them to see their supervisor. If they say he/she is not available. Let them know you will call the hospital administration office. Step away from the counter and Google the number to the Administration office. Nine time out of ten they will change their attitude. Always remember you have a CHOICE no matter where you go.

Worst experience ever! My fiance is uninsured we were told if we paid a certain amount that day before we left then we wouldnt owe anymore to the hospital but we would still owe physician bills which we agreed. Then a month later received a hospital bill for triple the amount we paid when we left. Customer service stated they do not offer that and I would have to find that lady who said that to me and have her right it down on paper that she said we wouldnt owe anything else. They also had him sign consent to the procedure after they gave him morphine which is illegal!

I went in almost 3 weeks ago, for sharp lower abdominal cramps,(pregnancy related). The staff was super nice from the time i walked in the very second I stepped back outside. The nurses showed such concern, and was very patient in asking for my information. I felt so comfortable that I have just had my insurance plan changed to deliver my bundle of joy with this hospital. Counting down 8 weeks or less to go!!! :-)
