My experience was not great and that is putting it mildly. I went to the clinic because I felt as if I had something in my throat that was making it hard to swallow. After filling out the paperwork, I waited about 20 minutes before being escorted into triage. The medical assistant asked me some questions, but oddly enough didnt take my weight. I thought that was a little odd. She took my temp, pulse and BP. Then I had to wait 15 more minutes in the waiting room because there were no examination rooms free. I finally was a called back again. I sat in the room for additional 10 minutes before a nurse practitioner walked in and announced I needed to go have a barrium swallow test done. She never looked at me, never examined my throat... nothing. No x-rays... Nothing. She didnt know what time the radiology clinic held the test. A very long and expensive story later, if the nurse practitioner had simply examined me and asked me a few questions, I could have saved hundreds of dollars. Turned out nothing was stuck in my throat. I saw a REAL doctor after having an expensive swallow test done and learned I have a quirky form of acid reflux and that what was causing the pain in my throat. Im working with my insurance provider and my lawyer concerning the money they say I owe for the office visit and the needless radiology test. PLEASE do not go here! I only went because they have longer hours than the American Family Care I normally visit. It was the worse experience ever. It feels like a patient mill. The staff doesnt take the time to actually examine you. All they want to do is get you in, charge you a $125 and get you out the door. Your health and well-being isnt at all important to them. Stay away!!!

Not a pleasant experience at all today... When I got to the back with my son the nurse began triage. She asked if I wanted him swabbed for strep. The nurse said the test was "20% accurate". I told her I didnt want it if that were the case. She said the Dr. would still want it done. She said it would take 5 minutes to read. Over an hour later, no one else came to the room. I went to the desk (where at least 5 nurses were congregating) to ask what was going on especially after seeing others who arrived long after us leave. I was told it was probably because they had a lot of things to do for my son. I told her the only that had been done was a swab and that the Dr. had not even seen him yet. About 20 minutes or so later, the Dr. came in for about 3-5 minutes. The swab was reportedly negative. Although she was nice, the overall experience had been ruined at that point. I usually love this place. So, Im not sure what was going on today...

Went to Medcenter South due to the hours of operation. Front desk staff on both occasions are very unpleasant people to come in contact with. This medical facility lobby was nasty both times Ive been there. Ive come in contact with six different front desk personnel and all six equally disturbing to be The first point of contact. On a second note however doctorss and nurse practitioners very concerned respectful and caring. Its sad that you can have excellent doctors but the front desk staff kills the business, unfortunate for the Doctorss here HR or management has hired poor front desk employees. Its very unfortunate because I did like the doctor I saw however seeing a wonderful doctor is not worth the aggravation of her front desk staff. Hospitality and respect go along ways, people should take ownership of how they present themselves in place of business, public eye. Sincerely A customer who cares about how people are treated.

We are not from Tuscaloosa, so I took my son there with fever... Thought he had a bad cold or flu, but turns out he had Lyme disease. He had been in the woods earlier on our vacation. Doctor put him on antibiotics because of his symptoms, and also took plenty of time to talk with us and answer questions. Everyone was superb! The only reason I didnt give 5 stars was that the blood tests took much longer than we were told. Not directly Med Souths fault, but still caused us quite a bit of anxiety. Ive since read that waiting until blood work returns before beginning antibiotics often causes Lyme disease to be much worse. I do appreciate the doctors expertise! I would easily use this Med South again!!! THANKS EVERYONE THERE!

Excellent! This was the best medical facility I have been to in a long time, Id highly recommend them. The staff is friendly and organized, as well as helpful. They processed all patient information quickly and the paperwork was minuscule. My wait time was also very brief(a plus in my book). Doctors were professional and seemed actually concerned about my symptoms, unlike other places Ive been where Ive been brushed off. They are some of the best! Both the triage staff and the phlebotomist and doctors are definitely working together here and it shows. Ill definitely be back here again soon, if need be. Fantastic staff, clean facility, and they actually care for the patients and ask questions. Highly highly recommend!

Ive been coming here for years and so have my whole family. Up until today I have never experienced such rudeness from the intake staff. Not the whole staff, only Jordan. She told me I had a balance and I was fine with paying the balance. I just wanted to know why I wasnt never billed. I was there just three months ago and didnt know about the past due amount until today. She was very loud and rude. I made her aware that she was and was violating HIPPA policy. I made her aware I work within HIPPA guidelibes everyday and know it well. I asked for her supervisors contact information to send her an even longer email. Oh and by the way, Im in the back waiting to see the doctor while typing this review.

I just received my bill from my July 16, 207 visit, so I am now comfortable responding. Thank you! My unexpected visit to the clinic while visiting Tuscaloosa receives a 4.5 out of 5 rating from me. "Cody" and "Josh" were attentive and provided great service. My only note would be the reception desk staff might benefit from a lesson on friendliness. They were not rude, but none seemed happy to be working the day I arrived. Customer service starts there. Again, thank you for providing a reasonably priced medical intervention for an out of state visitor. The in-office care was most beneficial in making a flight home more tolerable.

My daughter fell and hit her head that left a small gash on her forehead. My neighbors recommended MedCenter South and Im so glad they did. The staff was absolutely superb. They took excellent care of my daughter, who is 2 and was scared. They gave her lots of stickers and crayons to color with, which helped her be more at ease. I loved that the doctor and the nurses told me what they were doing and why. I greatly appreciated that. I only waited for maybe 10 minutes in the waiting area which was fantastic. If I ever need to use an urgent care again I will definitely come here again and recommend them to everyone.
