I brought my dog in post surgery. She had a small bowl obstruction removed from her intestine and just needed to be monitored for 24-48 hours. She was lethargic when we dropped her off, but the Cool Springs Emergency Vet (where the surgery took place) assured us that the surgery went perfect & she should be fine. She only needed her vitals and condition monitored. I called the Grassmere Animal Hospital throughout the day to check on my dog and they were not able to tell me anything about her condition. So around 3pm I stopped in to check on her. She was awake, alert & oriented. She looked like good as new & her incision was also in good condition. The vet again was not available to give me any updates on my dogs condition. At 6:30pm I received the first phone call from the vet. She said my only option was to euthanize my dog. After seeing my dog earlier in the day i found this unbelievable. I picked up my dog, took her to different vet & 6 months later she is still alive, active, & happy! Conclusion, this is a walk in clinic and dont trust them with anything but immunizations! I have been taking my pets here for years & was very disappointed with them after this experience & will no longer trust them with my pets health. So they only get one star from me because they were going to euthanize my healthy dog & charged me almost $500 for it. The vet was very unconcerned, uncaring & unprofessional about the situations. For example, she said getting a new puppy was my best option.

EDIT: There is not enough I can say about this hospital. In the past 7 months we have lost two of our dogs, both at unreasonably young ages. Their care and compassion while explaining their conditions, and helping us deal with their end of life decisions were absolutely amazing. It is unfortunate that they know us now by our first names, even when we call. This is the only vet that we will ever use while we live in the Nashville area. They are amazing from their front office staff all the way to all of their amazing doctors. We love Dr. Brumbelow and Dr. Piper, but all of the other docs have been amazing as well. We are lifetime clients. Please take your pet there, they are amazing people. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I have been taking my animals to Grassmere since we got our cat 5 years ago, and now I take all 3 of our animals to them (cat and 2 dogs). The staff is wonderful, the doctors always spend plenty of time to answer all of your questions, and their prices are always reasonable. I continue to go to them even though now we live in Smyrna. It is very much worth the drive. I wouldnt think about going anywhere else.

We have four cats and have been going to Grassmere Animal Hospital for veterinarian care for approximately 8 years. We purchase 3 very pricey specialty foods there monthly and thought we had a close relationship with The veterinarians. Things changed last night when we realized that one of our cats, Buttles was actively dying. Grassmere closes at 7:00 pm and we called Grassmere at 6:16 pm desperate to see if one of her doctors would see her. She was clearly suffering. I was told that the doctors (primarily Dr Brumbelow) were too busy to see Buttles and that we needed to take her to the emergency vet. This news was very disappointing and heartbreaking. My husband and I understand that they are very busy; however, we felt we had established a relationship with them and felt they loved our cats (kids). we took Buttles to a new vet last night and will be permanently moving our services to Brentwood Vet. Thanks for the compassion Dr Holladay Unfortunately Buttles, my precious 17 year old cat is going to be put to rest today. Teresa & Jeff

We have been going to Grassmere for over 20 years and completely trust them. Dr. Clark is wonderful with our dogs and always take his time explaining everything that is going on with them and never, ever makes us feel rushed. I like to ask alot of questions and he is so patient with me in giving me the information I requested. All of the staff is great. Our 17 year old had to be euthanized and it was at their closing time when the decision was made. They all patiently waited for my mother to drive there (over 20 minutes) to say goodbye to our pup. It was long after closing time before we were through and no one ever made us feel rushed. I cant say enough good things about Dr. Clark or his staff. I highly recommend Grassmere!

At 6pm we brought our brand new retired racer in with a cut paw. Not only did they treat her like a princess up front, the staff was amazing all around. We had two follow ups and each time we left thinking we had someone in our corner if anything should happen to our Pup. You would think with service like that we would have paid up the nose but thats not true, they have fair prices and amazing people. Any fellow greyhound owners know how hard it is to ensure the vet knows the odd nature of your hound, but with GrassmereI had no worries. I would recommend them to anyone for any type of pet. Pros: Price People Experienced Staff Open late Clean well kept office Cons: I think my dog likes them more than me :P

My husband and I were traveling through Nashville (from Georgia to Indiana) Thursday afternoon and found a little puppy on the side of the road. We tried animal control and a few other vets and got nothing but frustrated from the runaround. Until we called Grassmere. They are wonderful people and didnt hesitate for a moment when we asked if they would be able to help. They had us bring the puppy right into the office and asked for nothing in return. In fact, they seemed surprised when we offered a donation. I would absolutely take our pets to Grassmere if we lived in Nashville.

I have been going to this clinic for three years now and would not think of going to another vet for my animals care. Everyone is extremely helpful, courteous, knowledgeable, compassionate, and sincere. Dr. Brumbelow and Dr. Clark have always been very straight forward and honest with me. It is evident they care deeply abouth their work and I am lucky to be so close to where they are located. They have always accomodated me and my dog loves going there. I would reccomend them to anyone with an animal! Thank you so much for the peace of mind your clinic provides!!!!

Very happy with our experience! Referred here by Miss Kittys Bed & Bath after recently moving to Nashville from out of state. Even though we only came in for a vaccination update only, Dr. Clark took his time examining each of my dogs even though I didnt pay for an exam. His foremost concern was for my pets wellbeing even when I was looking to stay under budget - hes won my trust and my return visits! Small friendly clinic and appreciated their online website information as well.

OMG! I Just found Out that My New Girl cat STILL has EARMITES after being treated months ago. So, now we have to get medicine & PUT in ALL 5 of Our Cats Ears! Awesome! DO NOT BOARD. About 2 1/2 years ago, My cats came home with Fleas one time we did this. Oh, & they DID NOT TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for it. Really? Thanks a bunch
