Warning to all! Here is Yogi Bears story. Yogi our year old blue Pittie was struck by a truck when my two year old opened the door and he took off after one of his buddies. My wife was standing there and saw the whole thing and was basically terrified. Luckily the man that hit him was a descent person and was able to assist with getting him rushed to this pet ER. Unfortunately the horrors continued once my wife arrived with Yogi. They did their normal visual inspection of him and told her that his injuries were too severe for survival and if he were to survive that the cost of surgery would exceed $7,000 and that we would be expected to pay to keep him alive. Keep in mind this was their visual inspection. They mentioned they needed $800 plus just to do X-Rays-for us to determine the extent of his injuries. (All of the above to be expected for the most part) Although, they told my wife she had two options and that would be to sign him over to a rescue to assist or authorize for eauthenizaton. She was told that was all she Could do. They rushed her into making the decisions so she chose to sign him over instead of killing him. After further examination and FREE X-rays they gave to the rescue they determined his injuries to not be that severe and that he wasnt near as bad as they thought. Why could we have not been offered this?? The name of the rescue is Operation Education and they totally capitalized on funds for his surgery but unfortunately since we signed him over under the influence that he was near death and severly injured we still could not get our pup back. My warning to anyone going to this facility is take time to think about the options. We paid to keep him out of pain and comfortable but were totally mislead on the best route to take. We were rushed into a decision and it was NOT the best one.

The waiting room is beautiful and their website states they have on site labs and diagnostics. I am from out of town so I should have asked around first. They charged me $105.00 for routine blood work and sent the samples to an off site lab instead of using their own lab. They could not explain why they have a lab onsite they do not use. It took 3 weeks to get the lab results. They wanted to sell me cat food instead of a prescription and gave me a referral to a vet. specialist. They could careless for my cat because by not giving me same-day lab results I would have had to pay the referral specialist for repeat lab tests. After waiting 3 weeks I went on internet purchased a non prescription ear ointment for $13.00. The morale is so poor at this vet after charging me $210.00 and providing no care for my cat, they told me I am lucky I do not have to return. (ps owner left several voicemails saying he was sorry-but when I appeared during working hours M-F no veterinarian was available)

We took our dog Suzy to this vet when I noticed a small tumor on her. Both Dr. Daniel, who did the initial examination and recommended surgery to remove it, and Dr. Taylor, who performed the actual surgery, were wonderful. Dr. Daniel spent several minutes answering my questions at the initial visit and yet more time answering some follow-up questions I had after doing more reading on the topic. Dr. Taylor called during and after surgery and provided great detail on what she observed and how she handled it. The entire staff was kind, helpful, and polite. This is clearly an office that cares about both their animal and human clients. I received a tour of the surgical area prior to the procedure and was pleased to see that ACVH uses modern monitoring and maintenance equipment to make surgery as safe as possible. While we have only had this one experience at ACVH, I am sufficiently impressed to wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone who needs a careful, caring, modern vet.

The front desk staff are friendly and the doctors are caring, knowledgeable and professional. Over the years, they have taken care of our dog, Rusty. Sadly, it became necessary to euthanize our beloved dog. I was comforted by the doctor and her staff, and their concern for our familys feelings and our Rusty was genuine and comforting. The options were explained to us in such a caring way. On the day we said goodby to Rusty, the doctor was empathetic and spoke in loving tones to our dog. To my surprise, it was less traumatic because of their kindness and the surroundings. I pictured a stainless steel table under bright lights but it was a tranquil setting in a dimly lit room. I spent time with Rusty and stayed with him throughout. It was very respectful. Today, a florist delivered flowers from Animal Care Vet Hospital and this kind gesture touched my heart. They truly care about their patients and the pet owners.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place! They saved my little 8 yr old dog who had been suffering needlessly & had been given up on by my local vet & 3 other vets I contacted. After almost 3 weeks of being told my little ChaCha was terminally ill & I should just "put her down" my cousin recommended I call ACVH & see what they thought. Not only did they say they thought they could help my little one, they saved her life! Dr Amy Shirley was so kind & caring, as was the entire staff at ACVH. Its worth the 6 hr round trip for me to be assured that my ChaCha is being seen by people who care about her, answer all my questions & listen to what you have to say. My girl is one week post surgery now & acts like shes a pup again! Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for giving me many more years with my little furbaby!

Been going there for over three years with multiple cats. For routine shots go to PetSmart or Petco, But if your pet is sick, or you are trying to figure out what is wrong, this is the place to go. It is more expensive. However, after surgeries on two different cats, and diagnostic care for two elderly cats I trust them completely. They do take CareCredit and go over all prices before the procedures are performed. Urgent issues are worked in and appointments are generally available within a few days for routine care. All the staff signed a Sympathy card when one of my cats died and all staff are polite, respectful, and compassionate. They understand money concerns and do not press the issue if you decide not to do some procedure they recommend. I absolutely recommend them.

Yes, this is the most expensive animal hospital in the area, but it is worth it. I have a special needs Devon Rex who has been seen by specialists and numerous other vets in the region and all the way to Knoxville. She was suffering from undiagnosed IBD and really sick. One trip, ONE trip to Dr. Daniel and he diagnosed her and has treated her for the last 5 years with outstanding results. Her needs require regular visits, but the front desk staff know us by name and that really makes a difference to me. Dr. Blaylock is also fantastic and I wouldnt trust either one of my Devons to ANYONE but these two doctors and this vet hospital. Thank you for your exceptional care.
