When my one year old pit bull broke out in hives all over his body, I administered benadryll and called local clinics to see who could take a walk-in. Arkansas Browning told me to come in right away. We arrived just before 11am. My dog had visited only one other clinic prior to this appointment. When we arrived, he greeted another dog owner, a dog, and a kind vet tech in the waiting room. As soon as we entered the exam room, two techs closed the door and cornered him. He curled up in the corner and growled. I would expect someone who works with dogs on a daily basis to greet a dog before trying to shove a thermometer up his butt! They immediately handed me a muzzle. He was sick, medicated, and in a strange place, but I understand their need for safety. As I put the muzzle on him, both techs laid into me about professional training and socialization. They told me I was irresponsible and adding to an aggressive pit bull stereotype. In the short time Ive had him (6 months) we have been working on socialization with friends and neighbors, people at coffee shops, and in downtown Dallas as well as visiting the dog park almost every week. He has never snapped at or bit anyone. On rare occasions he will back up and growl. His trainer said he is anxious but not aggressive and is working with us to establish confidence when meeting new people. These techs didnt seem to hear a word I said. They insisted I was irresponsible and shouldnt own a dog. I would expect someone who works with people on a daily basis to be respectful! These two techs were extremely rude, insensitive, and afraid to touch my muzzled dog. I would have left right then if it wasnt for the full-body hives. They made me lift him onto the exam table where he sat trembling -- sick and terrified. In order to get him to lay down, one tech took his leash from me, grasped it eight inches from his neck and squatted on the ground, pulling his neck down as hard as she could. He froze in fear. I was shocked at her methods and asked if I could help. She stated "We have other things to do today and we dont have time for you to get in our way. Im supposed to be at lunch right now." I took the leash from her, told my dog to lay down, and he did. This employees unacceptable behavior is why I will NEVER be back. Two stars for the vet. He was excellent. I dont remember his name. Hes an older man with white hair. He asked questions to figure out what was wrong and answered my questions in no hurry to get to lunch. He pet my dog, administered steroids, and talked with me about past allergy problems and future treatment. He referred us to a dog allergist but following his advice we havent had any major problems. This vet was kind and very helpful. I paid far more than I should have. We walked outside without the muzzle as the vet was leaving for lunch. He approached us unintimidated and talked with me while my dog sniffed and licked his hand. He encouraged me that my puppy will come around to vet visits and meeting new people. I cant believe such a great vet would have such rude, insensitive techs working for him. (For reference, this occurred in March 2015)

i actually started out with a vet in ftw. he transferred to arlington, and we followed him, as he was an outstanding vet. he retired, and we have stayed with this clinic. i have several dogs, as i do rescues. each one of my "children" always receive outstanding care. i wouldnt drive from westside of fort worth otherwise.!!! the staff is great. i know they probably cringe every time i come in, as i am a fussy parent. but the front staff (karen, julie, jordan) are worth the drive alone. they are always ready to help me with extra problems that i have, and extra attention that i need. they are always willing to take the time to do the "favors" that i require help with. all the vets here are willing to do the best for my kids. sometimes, if they seem a little short or rude (as commented in an earlier review), its because they are so busy running between rooms, taking care of the babies and having to deal with the parents to boot! my most recent rescue, a 9 pound chiweenie, had to have surgery as a larger dog tried to use her as a chew toy. this was my first dealing with the new surgeon. she is definitely a winner as a vet, a surgeon, and as a person. angel baby is doing extremely well, and i give the clinic and every employee all the credit. the back staff is also great. they know im very picky on how my babies are handled, and take the extra effort with them. i could probably go on for several more minutes (hours??) on the merits of this clinic and staff, but ill spare you!! just know this is one of the best clinics to take your furrbabies to, for the care, and for the pricing. thanks to everyone there joan

I noticed that Patrica Thomas spoke of everyones attitude but hers, maybe she got back what she gave out. Im sure her pet was treated with AAA service. That being said, I give these early risers and hard workers, who take a lot of crap off of neglectful pet owners, rude and non-paying pet owners 5 stars!!! I have been at this clinic dropping off my cats for surgery, dog for illness and have witnessed these hard workers being cursed by some that have used race as an excuse to try to get out of paying. I say if your not as happy with this clinic and with these fine upstanding hard working professionals, that have families just like you and I, then go somewhere else and dont get what you pay for. You will pay higher prices elsewhere and I dont think that this fine group of professionals get half the THANKS!!! that they deserve. For those who do bring your pets here I am sure that I have seen you in the clinic when I have brought up my cats, I just want to say Thank You for making the right choice. This clinic makes you feel like family. Have you hugged you pet or Vet today???

The Doctors are great. The back office staff for the most part are okay. They could act a little more interested in the clients dog or cat. These are more than pets they are our children. The front office clerks are a whole different story. They are at best a matter of fact. The people that work at the front desk are the nucleus of the whole office. When I walk in I feel as if they really do not want me to come in the clinic. When I try to tell little stories about my little babies I get cut off. I didnt have children so my furry friends are my children. Therefore just like humans mothers they love to talk about their kids and show pictures. I realize they have lots of responsibility however they need to take a minute to make you feel welcome and pay a little attention to their pet. I worked for a veterinary. I worked the front and back office, exam room, surgery and cleaned cages so I understand exactly what it is like in each department However a few minutes goes a long ways just show people you care.
