I cant say enough good things about Dr. Kussmaul and his staff. Last spring our dog began scratching and chewing her paws to the point that she could barely walk. Her fur was falling out, and she had no appetite and no energy. At that time, we were taking our pets to another local clinic. After two months under their care, our dogs condition had gotten much worse. In fact, it had gotten to the point where we were wondering if we would lose her. A friend referred us to Harwood Road Animal Hospital, and we were immediately impressed by Dr. Kussmauls thorough, caring approach, and his reasonable rates. He diagnosed the underlying issues, and prescribed a very conservative but effective treatment regimen, and we began seeing improvements almost immediately. Dr. Kussmaul is very good at listening to our questions and concerns, and always takes time to explain things in great detail, and his staff is very friendly and helpful. Our dog is now back to her happy, healthy self again - and we have a new vet that we trust. I highly recommend Harwood Road Animal Hospital.

I dont normally write reviews, but I feel the actions of this clinic necessitated a poor review. We just adopted an 8 week old pup, and had an appointment one week later. After a few days at home, the pup vomited twice and had loose stools. My wife decided to call this clinic and ask the vet if this was normal or if we needed to bring him in prior to his scheduled appointment. The receptionist answered and said she would ask the vet. She returned and told my wife that we "needed to take him to the emergency room." Despite multiple questions from my wife, she did not tell us why we needed to do so, and refused to let us speak to the vet. We elected to call another vet (Bedford VCA) who promptly saw us that afternoon and returned a stool sample within 24 hours.

Have been taking three dogs here for the past few years. I have a small chiweenie with dental issues and have always gotten good advise from Dr. Kussmaul regarding proper care and needed procedures. Dr. Kussmaul also has a relationship with an intensive care overnight veterinarian who cared for my dog when she got into a bottle of ibuprofen (shes doing great). On a side note, Dr. Kussmaul has recommended products to me in the past, but has never come off as trying to sell me something, which I appreciate. I havent met the other providers, if there are any, so I cant speak to their services. Overall, I would recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a good vet.

There are not enough kind words I can say about Dr. Kussmaul and his staff. I have been a client for 8 years and was very saddened when I moved away. I still sometimes make the now 45 minute drive for non emergency visits just to get Dr. Ks opinion because I trust him like no other. He was amazing with my senior pets whom we lost in 2013. Dr. K was always so compassionate, showing genuinely true care and concern. I would trust him completely with any animal. His prices are very reasonable as well. Dr. K always returns calls promptly, sometimes in off hours own weekends if needed. Its hard to find a vet that truly cares, and Dr. Kussmaul certainly does.

The wait is sometimes a little excessive, even with an appointment (on Saturdays anyway) they tend to get backed up, but I guess that might be expected since not many places are open on Saturdays. However, as soon as we are in the room with the Dr. he pays great attention and gives really helpful advice. My puppy seems to actually not hate going to the vet! (yet anyway!) The rates here are really fair compared to other vets in the area Ive quoted. Ive definitely never felt like I was getting overcharged at this Vet, and everyone is super friendly. I would definitely recommend this clinic to other pet owners.

I am past due writing a review for Dr. Kussmal. I love this place! They take their time with the pets and listen to your concerns. Yes, there are times when the wait can be longer than I would like, but my appointments are usually on Saturdays and they are just doing their best to accommodate everyone who really only has that day to get things done. They are open 5 other days as well. Recently I realized that in 1989, this was where we took my pets at the time, so theyve been here a very long time!

I came here from the ripoff Petsmart Banfield vetplan. I wasted so much money at that place. Harwood Road Animal Hospital has been amazing. Never once have they tried to get me to do this or that or buy this or that, unless my dog actually needed it. Its a good honest place that I have enjoyed. Employees are all very nice and they treat my dog like one of their own. If youre looking for a good vet to take care of your dog, you cant go wrong here.

Absolutely hands down the best vet in the metroplex. Prices are VERY reasonable. This is our family vet. Ive taken my cat in for emergency care. A 3 day stay, meds, sedation, blood work etc was $588. Another vet tried to say between 1600-2500. Dr.Kussmaul has the best bedside manner. Hes called me at 10pm to update me on my cats condition.

A really top-notch, friendly staff that really loves their patients. I was told to visit Dr. Kussmaul and I was not disappointed. He was so completely gentle and confident with my nutty chihuahua. Id recommend him to anyone. Prices totally fair and their notifications for vaccinations and annual visits are great. Love this place.

his is such a wonderful vet! Everytime we go here the Dr is so nice and really takes care of my pup. The whole staff is friendly and they really care. Anytime I have an emergency or need an opinion or have questions they are always there for me. This is a great small vet with a caring staff, nothing better than that!

We switched from a Vet down the road with a fancier building but have found the best care and the best prices here! Everyone in the office is friendly, the doctor always pets my dog and makes her feel comfortable, and the prices are about 50% less than we previously paid. Highly recommend!

Awesome vet! Dr. Darryl Kussmaul is great, very attentive and genuine. It was my first visit, I called as an emergency case. I thought my dog had a stroke. Dr. Kussmaul treated me and my dog with the utmost respect and care. I will be bringing both my dogs here from now on.

The vet was a great caring guy but when I arrived 10 minutes early for my appointment I had to wait in the waiting room for 45 minutes and watch 2 other families that got there after me go on back with in 5 minuets of arriving.

Dr. Howard is such a gentleman. He was very gentle with my baby Blossom who is 8 years old. He explained things thoroughly and was very respectful to my decision. I will come here forever! The staff was just lovely as well!
