I spent over a year looking at various dentists in the greater Austin area before trying this practice. I found it using google maps and yelp, reading reviews, and so Im adding mine to the mix. The first thing I noticed was hosting new patient forms online that you can type on. Automatic brownie points for saving time during this mundane task that every new patient is all too familiar with. Second thing I noticed was that their waiting room is smaller than my living room (although nicer!). They dont have lobby chairs, they have a single sofa and cushy lounge chairs. They have a couple of PCs and some video game systems set up for the kids. There isnt much room in the waiting room probably because they dont really have patients wait, as I found out. I was on time for my appointment and called back on time. On to the hygienists, they are top notch. Dentistry is a personal thing and the hygienists explain everything that they are doing. The room I was in had a TV on the wall and they gave me the remote to change the channel if I wished. When I was laid back in the chair, there was no bright light in my face but rather another TV mounted on the ceiling. The xrays and photographs are digital so they use the TV as a patient education tool and to show the condition of the teeth, more so than youd ever see in the mirror with a flashlight. They have a lot of high tech and non-invasive methods for looking for cavities and testing the density of the teeth. The cleaning went very well. No pain, high tech water blasters and metal scrapers quickly made my teeth feel great. They also put a warm bean bag thing under my neck which helps relaxation and taking the mind off the procedure. When talking to my new provider (Dr. Kerr) he took a few minutes to get to know me and ask questions based on the new patient survey. Most importantly, he asked what I wanted from him, so he could then assess a long term plan for my dental care. Dr. Kerr is a great person and he already won me over so I expect to have a long term relationship with Vista Ridge Family Dentistry. Unfortunately I do have to go back soon to get a couple of fillings but Im strangely looking forward to a visit. Im a fan. If they offered "I love Vista Ridge Family Dentistry" T-shirts, Id wear one.

I owe more than just my dental health to Dr. Kerr and his staff. After waiting almost a year post-botched dental work, I reluctantly sought out a new dentist. I came across Vista Ridge Family Dentistry through various internet reviews, and I am thankful I chose them. Previous dental experiences had turned me into a nervous patient and these folks have reversed a great deal of that. The initial appointment for x-rays and cleaning was handled with care by Sarah and Dr. Kerr. Things were explained the entire time, and no one started poking at my most sensitive teeth without letting me know first. They actually listened to and addressed my concerns about a painful molar without a cavity that prevented me from chewing on one side. I worked with Natalie (I think?) to schedule my upcoming fillings, and was blown away at how great this office is at working with their patients from scheduling to billing. Your treatment plan is laid out for you, and there is no pressure to hurry anything along. I received excellent care once more when I returned for my fillings. Dr. Kerr even fixed the sensitivity issue with my molar. Thanks to some light sedation, I didnt embarrass myself too much with my shaking and jumpiness. During one of the initial discussions with Dr. Kerr, I mentioned my inability to breathe out of my nose (for the better part of 6 years) and he encouraged me to see an ENT. I have seen many doctors over the years for the issue, and gave up on it after treatments failed to help. It was pinned on allergies, and never once did a doctor tell me it wasnt normal and send me to an ENT. Long story short, I took Dr. Kerrs advice, and was shocked to learn that I had a tumor/polyps that needed quite a bit of surgery. Just days after that surgery, my quality of life had already drastically improved. Pathology on everything they removed came back benign, and I havent been able breathe this well in at least 6 years. I am so thankful for the overall care and compassion and owe many aspects of my improving health to Vista Ridge Family Dentistry.

Im taking on responsibilities as an adult and scheduling visits to the doctor, chiropractor, and dentist. My most recent new office visit was to Vista Ridge Family Dentistry. A few of my co-workers and their family members have visited Vista Ridge Family Dentistry, and all of them had glowing reviews. My wife also recently visited and absolutely loved them. This last week was my turn. I dont have any fears of visiting the dentist. I never have. Even if I did, I think that my fears would be put away, because the staff, from reception to the assistant to the hygienist to the dentist, was great. They all were excited to talk with me and to explain what it was they were doing, and, of course, tell me the condition my mouth was in. Its been a little while since Ive visited the dentist, but they complimented my smile more often than not, and when there were some small issues (which were few), they explained in a caring and comforting way how I can best maintain and correct them. During the moments I was unable to talk, I was comfortable, and the assistant and hygienist would talk to me or just tell me something about their family life. I love to hear other peoples stories, so my visit was fun. Dr. Kerr was also energetic and positive. We had a great exchange, and I can tell hes loving what he does, and that he truly appreciates your time. I hope he and the entire team succeed, because they deserve to. The entire first visit was just under an hour and a half. My next visit is in six months (typical scheduled cleaning/follow-up). Im looking forward to it. If you havent found a dentist in the area yet, I recommend checking out Vista Ridge Family Dentistry. Youll be pleased with your visit. Thanks!

I came to Vista Ridge to get a second opinion on a crown that another sub-par dentist had done and screwed up. The experience has been simply amazing! Dr. Kerr was straight forward, personable, and professional. He explained everything thoroughly and in plain terms. He walked me through the imagery as well as the treatment options. Dr. Kerr greets you the moment you are called back to your appointment and talks through everything with you which I have previously never experienced at a dentist. At my appointment, I got accurate pricing for my crown was able to go home and consider the options without hassle or pressure to schedule the procedure. I decided to schedule the procedure and went in for the first part of the procedure two weeks after the initial consult. Again, Dr Kerr greeted me from step 1. He continually checked on my pain level and comfort throughout the procedure. The procedure went smoothly with very little discomfort. I left their office and went home. The next day I received a call from Dr. Kerr himself, not a robot or a receptionist, but Dr Kerr himself, inquiring about my comfort and if I had any questions. The bottom line is the service level was well above average and the patient experience is flawless. Dr Kerr is very thorough and professional while maintaining patient friendly communication. I will continue to go to Dr Kerr for my dentistry from now on. Thank you Dr. Kerr and staff for maintaining business practices that are very hard to find these days.
