Their office is divided into two sides. Ive never had a problem with the exam side of the office. The frames side is where the problems arise. For example... I went to Buckner Vision on 9/13/2013 to drop off my frames to be prescribed. I was charged $39. It didnt dawn on me that the amount seemed incorrect until I got home. I viewed my insurance benefits and my copay for lens and frames is $10 each. So, I called Buckner Vision 9/16/2013 to ask "how much would it be to have a pair of frames prescribed with and without insurance?". The first person I spoke with told me $39 without insurance and I would pay my insurance copay if I had insurance. So, I let her know I was overcharged. She transferred me to another representative to assist me. This representative told me I would pay my $10 copay plus $39 for materials. && I was like "huh? Even if Im using my own frames, getting single vision lenses, and no extras?" She replied "yes, because some vision plans cover materials and some dont." So, I ended the call because my lunch break was over. Later on that day I contacted my insurance company twice. Once through email and over the phone. Both times I was told I would only pay my insurance copay. On 9/17/2013, I went into the office. Once I began talking, the representative that told me my material copay was $39 cut me off and said "I think we spoke on the phone. Now, what is it that youre not understanding?" I said Im not understanding why my material copay would be $39 when my insurance company stated $10 whether Im eligible for frames or not. She then said "let me print out this sheet && show you because clearly youre not understanding." She shows me an outline of benefits and circled the $10 material copay. She explained "since youre not eligible for frames at this time you wouldnt pay $10, youll pay $39." I just stared at her and asked "so youre saying my insurance company dont know what theyre talking about?" I asked her this several times...and never got an answer. She frustrated me soo bad. I ended up asking for a refund. Before she proceeded to process my refund she stated "next time know how youre benefits work before getting this done. Because regardless of where you go itll be the same thing." I replied, "I know how my benefits work. You dont. Now process my refund." Im not sure if shes new, but the African American lady with short slicked down hair needs to choose her words wisely, watch her tone of voice, and quit saying little snarky comments under breathe while walking away from the counter. She also needs to admit when shes wrong...because clearly she was. She wouldnt even take the time to phone my insurance company and clarify what was being said. She was just THAT confident about the incorrect information she was giving me. When I got to my car, I decided to call my insurance ooonneee more time...and of course I was told the same thing I would only pay my insurance copay. 9/18/2013: I went to another network provider to have my frames prescribed and guess what? My mandatory co-pay was $10.

Worst experience Ive ever had from any doctors office, I would have given them 0 stars if I could have. I went in for an eye exam in hopes to order some new contacts, my trial pair comes in which is a cheap brand, Ive never even heard of. The prescription is completely wrong I cant even see. And the receptionists tell me I can come in and pay for a whole new exam to get my prescription corrected. (Pay out of pocket being as I used my 1 free exam provided by insurance on them giving me the wrong prescription). She even admitted it may have been a mistake on the doctors end, but I will have to pay for another exam to correct their mistake. The staff is completely unprofessional, awful mannerisms. Their prices are cheap but so is their service. Its funny how everyone that has left a bad review for you all you reply with "sorry we would love to help but we are unable to find anyone under your name in our records". And then immediately following is a good review. Coincidence? Hardly. And no thank you there is nothing you can do for me. Ive already taken my business else where, and I am much happier.

I have been going here for 3 going on 4 years. The front office ladies are very nice and helpful and making an appointment is really easy or you can just walk in. The eye doctors are very nice and take time to listen to your concerns.I like that they have modern equipment and DONT have to dialate your eyes. I also really like that you can also get your glasses or contacts made/ordered right there. Sometimes when you call the optical side , they are extremely busy and you may be put on hold for a while, but to me it is worth it.

time I called I got put on hold for long periods and I hung up called back and got yhe same results they had me on hold forever then I guess they finally got tired of me calling about my order and the merchandise I paid for that tgey asked for my number and said that they would call me shortly to let me know the status....5 days later and still waiting on a call!!!

I love the doctor and staff at Buckner Vision! Dr. Bill Thompson has been taking care of my eyes, and our entire family for many years now, and never disappoints. Im happy to say that my kids have always been comfortable with him, as has my elderly mom. My contacts are great, and my moms glaucoma is well controlled. I highly recommend him!
