Proper follow up is not the strong suit of this facility. My son is currently being treated at the facility with the expectation of him being transitioned to an RTC facility for the additional care that he needs. One of the major hold ups in that taking place is paperwork being faxed over to the facilities that I have provided proper contact information for the paperwork to be sent to. I was advised by the physician that is currently treating my son to contact Tiffany Young who is in charge of the therapist so that she can follow up on the information and to confirm that it is being sent as requested however I am unable to get an answer when I call her direct line as well as her voicemail is full so I am unable to leave a message. The care that my son has received while being treated has been an acceptable experience. For the most part, I do not have any complaint with the facility other than the lack of follow up. This lack of follow up has caused there to be a delay in his transition and my only suggestion to anyone that visits here or has to place a loved one in care here, stay on top of what needs to be done because they wont without persistent follow up from you on your behalf or the behalf of your loved one. **** UPDATE TO INITIAL REVIEW**** SPECIAL THANK YOU TO DARLENE, FARYN, TIFFANY, DR. ALLAWALLA, MR. NIGIS (SORRY IF YOUR NAME IS SPELLED INCORRECTLY) AND EVERYONE THAT ASSISTED IN THE PROCESS OF MY SONS CARE AND TRANSITION TO RTC AT LAUREL RIDGE. IT WAS A LENGTHY PROCESS AND THERE WERE MOMENTS OF IMPATIENCE ON MY PART AS A PARENT BUT IN THE END, I APPRECIATE THE ATTENTION AND CONSIDERATION THAT WAS GIVEN TO THE MATTER AS WELL AS TO ME AS A PARENT.

My experience with this facility was absolutely terrible. I needed to get medication stabilized and my regular Psychiatrist couldnt see me, so I needed emergency help. We wait in the lobby for 30-60 mins (which is normal) and get taken to the intake rooms. The wait to be assessed was absolutely ridiculous. After a COUPLE HOURS, my mom needed to use her phone (which they lock up) to let people know she was okay (since it had been so long). She had to wait about 10 minutes then they let her go outside to use it. After her breif call, they wouldnt let her back in to the intake room! It took half an hour for them to finally come get her to go back in (at which time Im alone in the intake room). We finally get assessed, and they decide I should do the outpatient program. We go to the hospital the next morning for my first day of outpatient treatment. The program is absolute chaos. There is no "therapy". The adolescents are in complete control of the room. Theyre yelling, screaming, hitting each other, etc. The "therapist" tries to do a session of group therapy but it goes no where. After like 20 minutes of this its "break time" and everyone is just yellijg and Im just sitting there doing nothing. That isnt therapy. I called my mother half way through the day and tell her whats going on and she immediately cones and takes me home (and discharges me). I was in a bad situation and this place did nothing to helop. Their adolescent outpatient program doesnt deserve to be called a program and it needs to have someone federal step in to control the chaos. Absolutely do not recommend.

This is the place that helped my 15yr old daughter and our family. People dont want to get help because of stigmas, but faith without works is dead. I had prayed for my troubled daughter and after she ran away and we found her the next day...Dallas Police Sargent referred us to this facility to get her evaluated. The staff from 2am to the staff during her stay was absolutely wonderful. Everybody cried when she left, even her. She learned a lot thru the group sessions, individual therapy, and her out care therepy. 3mnths later after all that she working at a job she love, been selected for membership in the National Society of High School Scholars, and her Bible studys are enjoyed but mainly our relationship is stronger and healthier. My prayers have been answered!!! Thank You The Behavioral Healthcare Hospital faculty for being professional, empathic and sympathetic, knowledgeable, and truly caring to my daughter and our family as a whole. My brother has been here 3 times. The first time he was there for a week and the second for only 2 days. & now his back and I had talked to one of the conselours there and explain everything that was going on with him that he had been in a lot of hospitals already and we wanted help for him , for his mental illness. He understood and said he was going to help me and my mom to find him a long term safe place for him . & my brother had called me yesterday saying he needed clothes . we went today and drop it off . next thing you know. They called us an hour later saying he was good to go. & we had just drop off the clothes. I dont reccomed this hospital, they gave my brother a medicine that was driving him more crazy and I had to tell them not to give it to him, nurse called me earlier saying if it was okay to give him that medication and I said no. It looks that they are not inform . dont go here ! They just want the money .

Dear Mr. Frayser, I just wanted to express my appreciation for the quality of care I received while at Sundance-Garland, especially while attending both the PHP and IOP. I’ve had to attend a lot of these types of outpatient programs, but this is really the first one where I felt both at ease in a difficult situation and confident that I would improve over time. The quality of group therapy and the personalized care far exceeded any previous care I’ve received at other institutions. While the in-patient hospitalization was necessary, any real help and improvement came via PHP and IOP. The therapist is obviously dedicated to insuring that each patient grows and is better equipped to handle what comes our way once we are discharged. I’m very grateful for my therapist and the others I’ve met while attending Sundance-Garland.

I only gave it 2 stars because the techs and the therapists were very friendly and tried to help. This is not a place I would go to for help ever again. The doctor was very uncaring & so was the RN named Veronica. I told them I couldnt eat certain foods & even though I saw it noted, I guess the kitchen staff didnt get the message because most of the time, there was nothing I could eat. For 2 meals, the only thing I could eat being served was a roll. I was there 5 1/2 days & only saw the doctor once & the nurse practitioner once. I have other neurological disorders that werent being taken into account & the doctor released me AMA even though I stayed days past the 24 hours that I was obligated too. A person cant get better when the only thing they have to do with their day is watch tv or sleep.

If I could I would have given them a -5 star, I was told my g-son would get an asssement review by a counceler and it would take about45 minutes, once we were taken back they locked us in behind 2 sets of locked doors and refused to let us leave, some of the ppl there had been waiting over 8 hours to be seen my g-son is only 7 and was having a mental reaction reaction to his ADD meds and was sent there my his PCP, I will be making a report to the medical board first think in the morning as this is considered flase imprisonment, locking down a person before they have DX them with anytype of illness JMO DONT GO THERE...
