Please do not waste your time utilizing Merchant Eyecare. This was my experience, and it wasnt very fun. I decided to get my eyes checked at Walmart because my employer doesnt offer health insurance. This place is located in Walmart but not affiliated with Walmart. They charge a fortune for people without insurance, but they also try to sell you add ons (even when youre young and you dont need it.) I had absolutely no problem with Mona Merchant, OD. I thought she was a very pleasant woman, and she introduced me to some new lenses that fit well. Its the office and the staff that isnt trained well, and they dont treat their customers with dignity and respect. I was fitted for a pair of Biofinity Toric lenses and one of them tore after a week. Mind you, theyre supposed to last a month, and I was used to wearing acuvue oasis contacts. After the contact tore, I went into the office and let the receptionist know, and the doctor asked me if I wanted to try the acuvues again, just in case the biofinity contacts werent working with my eyes. I had to pay $10 for a trial pair of acuvue oasis lenses. I have NEVER heard of an office charging a person money for a trial pair of lenses. The whole point of wearing a trial pair is to see if they fit and if you want to stay in that particular pair of lenses. I was furious because the first pair they gave me tore (and my guess is I received an old pair of contacts.) I went back today and asked them for a trial pair of Biofinity lenses because I did not like the acuvues and they told me that even if I paid them $10, they only give out two pairs of trials. I explained that the first pair of trials tore, and it wasnt my fault that they tore. They said that they would by no means give me a pair of trials. They also wanted my prescription for the Acuvue Oasis contacts that the Doctor had written for me about a month ago. I told them that I didnt have it on me. After about a half an hour of going back and forth, I was finally able to get my biofinity contact prescription, and I immediately called 1-800-contacts because there was no way I was going to order from their office. The girls that work at the front desk are extremely rude. They will not go out of their way to help you. I asked to speak to the office manager who is conveniently never at the facility. This place seems to believe that the customer comes last, and I made a vow that I would never go back. Again, there was no issue with the O.D. but the office is terrible.

An excellent experience! No sitting in the waiting room forever. A very pleasant and interesting staff and an excellent Doctor who took plenty of time to talk about what I do for a living, her findings and how she can help my vision with the things I do with my eyes all day every day. I am extremely pleased! Plus, hey, she is easy on the eyes in more than one way too! ;)

Optometrist lacks knowledge and experience and charges extra for each part of optometric exam unlike others who charge one flat fee. I ended up paying a lot more than a regular Optometrist visit and going to an Opthalmologist to get the correct evaluation :(

I have utilized Mona Merchants office twice now. They are quick, especially to get back on phone messages, and the service is great. Always get my prescription absolutely dead on! Highly recommend!

I love the staff and Dr. four of my family members have been seen here for the last two years and we are very pleased. She takes a ton of time to explain and I feel she knows her stuff!

Dr.Merchant is by far the most patient knowledgeable eye doctor that Ive had in quite sometime!
