I went in for eye exam more than 45 days ago for an eye exam and possible new glasses. After exam it was determined I needed a new prescription that adjusted my distance and reading strengths. I picked out new frames and waited for new glasses. I was called when they came in and went in to pick them up. After wearing them for less than 2 hours I knew they were not working.....but their office was already closed (early hours on Sat). I called them on Monday and ask for an appointment with the DR to check the prescription strenght as I could see fine with distance but reading was way wrong. They did not want to schedule a meeting with the doctor but I insisted so I got an appointmet for the following Sat. I went in and they tried adjusting them thinking the bifocal line was wrong...it took 30 minutes before they finally let me see the doctor. He did NOT re-check my eyes only told me it looked like they made them wrong. They sent them back for a redo. I waited and waited (3 weeks) and finally called them. The glasses were in but they claimed they had not been able to reach me at the phone number I had provided (same number they called the first time). I was told I could pick up the new glasses. When I went in to get them fitted it was easy to tell I still could not read out of them (problem was worse). The lady helping me expained she was not sure but the DR had increased my reading power and they thought that would solve the problem. I was really upset because the DR was not in. I decided to leave the glasses with them and asked that they decide how to resolve this. I got a call 2 weeks later and they wanted me to travel to Ft Worth so the doctor at their other office could see what the problem was. I did not want to make a trip to Ft Worth to get this resolved and told them that. Today more than 45 days after my first trip to their office, I still do not have new glasses (but they do have my money). Still trying to figure out how to get this resolved.

DO NOT GO HERE. Everything that Cookie (Nov 12, 2010) said below is completely true. I would think that anybody that posts a positive review of this place probably works for this establishment. Any time you call and ask for Dr. Bartlett, he isnt there and "will be here later in the week." As Cookie pointed out below, he doesnt even work there anymore. The staff is very curt and rude on the phone. I thought maybe it was because they were busy. Turns out theyre pretty curt and rude in person also. They claim that they have a $99+tax contact lens deal (exam and disposable contacts for 99; Bartlett used to give this deal too). What they dont tell you is that they wont give you your contacts until you come in for a "follow up" visit and that they will charge you $40 for that. On top of that, you have to pay for everything, including the follow-up charge, up front. This place has questionable business ethics and doesnt really deserve your business. The Metroplex is so large. Please go find another optical clinic.

I went in the office to order more contacts and asked for some trials till mine arrived. She brought me up 10 day supply of contacts. Then she said that would be $13! I had to buy them because I was running really low on contacts. I could not believe they charged me, seeing how the boxes said " FREE TRIAL LENSES NOT FOR SALE." That definitely put a sour taste in my mouth. How tacky can they be to their customers?

Ive been to Dr. Carter 3 or 4 times in the last 3 years for eye exams. He has always been great, friendly and informative. Front desk lady has always been very friendly also. I have never had any issues here. I have also never purchased glasses from Grapevine Optical, as I am very picky about frames, so I shop around to find what is perfect for me. Overall, I would recommend.
