Well my experience here didnt go so well. I was recommended by a family member. The appointment was going ok but once I met the optometrist, I could barely understand her. She didnt speak English all that well. Told me I needed my eyes dilated so we did that. She put like 2 or 3 different drops in my eyes. I got nausea and ended up getting sick to my stomach. After about 20 mins of being dizzy and throwing up she told me she wanted to try me in hard contacts which Ive never tried, nor been recommended. They were uncomfortable and didnt like them so she recommended me to a Biotrue daily brand. She also kept saying that I was a suspected glaucoma patient which Ive never been told before and she kept asking me "nobodys ever told you that?" and i kept telling her no. She recommended some glaucoma test which I didnt accept. Once it came to checking out at the counter, I was given the impression that I was purchasing contacts and lenses for my glasses. They told me itd be about a week for my lenses for my glasses and then about 2 weeks for my contacts. When I went a week later to get my lenses put in my frames, the lady couldnt even get the lenses in the frames all the way because she said the man that was usually there doing them, wasnt there. So my lenses were both hanging out on one side and were pushed in all the way on another side. She also didnt speak English well. Then about a week later the guy that usually cuts the lenses for glasses was there, and put my lenses back into correct place for me. I then asked the girl at the counter if my contacts were in yet and she said no. About another week later, I tried calling to see if my contacts had come in yet again and I was finally told they never put in an order for contacts. She asked if i wanted to buy them and i said not if it was going to cost me anymore than the expensive price I had already paid for the lenses for my frames. Just a bad experience.I feel like these people didnt know what they were doing. And they were expensive too. Wont be going back again.

I went to Lakewood Eye Care because of new eye insurance. I was diagnosed with glaucoma and written a prescription for eye drops to put in both eyes twice a day. For how long? For the rest of my life. I had my doubts. First of all the woman working the equipment doing all the eye tests did not inspire confidence in her ability to use the machines properly. I had drops to dilate my eyes before doing the vision field test so it was becoming increasingly difficult to see during the test. The doctor doesnt speak English as her first language so she has a very strong accent and doesnt communicate or explain things well at all. Because of my doubts, I went back to the eye doctor I had been going to for the past 5 years for a second opinion. After running tests, she said I dont have glaucoma and theres no reason to even suspect it. My eye pressure is fine and my optic nerve is perfectly healthy. No need for drops! Please get a second opinion for any diagnosis you receive from this eye doctor.

I have been using Dr Chen for a number of years (5+). Initially I visited to get new glasses. I was a little hesitant at using a new doctor at first as previously it was difficult to actually get a prescription which worked well. I was amazed with the first prescription I got from Dr Chen. I knew it had changed, but I did not think my current glasses were far off. It was a night and day difference, suddenly I could see clearly and far further than before. I have been going back to Dr Chen regularly and each time I need new glasses, they are perfect. On one occasion (first set of progressive lenses), the lenses were not quite right and Dr Chen had them re-made. I am somewhat fussy when it comes to frames, I insist on titanium. Dr Chen has always been able to special order frames if they are not in stock. I have never had any trouble dealing with Dr Chen or her staff. I would highly recommend Dr Chen.

Wont ever go back here. First of all, none of my kids could understand the Dr because of her accent. She told me one of my other kids needed glasses, took her to a 2nd AND 3rd opinion, because I didnt want to put her in glasses if they were not needed, and both doctors said she did not. The staff tries to pressure and sell you the most expensive stuff, glasses and contacts. When you tell her you just want the kind youve always used and are happy with, she looks at you like youre crazy, or tells you they arent available. Doesnt give you your prescription paper, Im guessing so you wont get your contacts elsewhere. Tries to force glaucoma testing because your insurance covers it. I took my kids elsewhere, but went back and gave them another chance a year later for myself, and the same things happened. Never had such a bad experience at a business before.

Got referral from dr Nan Wang from Memorial Herman. What a colossal mistake ! Staff is rude and completely unhelpful. Had to fight with them just to adjust the fit on my glasses. Then my sunglasses didnt work - too dark because of cataracts. Too bad! Somehow its MY fault they ordered them too dark. Run, run fast and run far. Youre better off going blind than using this ride unhelpful quack. Stay away!

Stay away! All she cares is how much your insurance pays and sell you all of it. I got my prescription for eyes glasses and contacts she kept pushing to buy glasses even though I brought my own frames. I came back a few mths later for my contacts that I like she said I need a fitting and a contact test which I already did. I told her I would get them online she said she would not give me my prescription.

This office is amazing. They took excellent care of me and my 4 year old daughter. The two Optometrists were very thorough and the young ladies at the front were a huge help to me and helping to figure out our insurance coverages. Excellent

Rong Chen,
The center is well equipped and and Dr. Chen is very experienced. My daughter had her hard contact here. It was a great fit with the first pair that she does not need any changes or replacement for nearly two years now. Saved us a lot of time.

Doctor literally showed up to work (not just my appointment) 30 minutes late. Then, I couldnt understand her very well. Aside from this, she then told me I was a "bad patient" because she wasnt getting a good reading. Wont go there again.

Unprofessional...Dr Lucy Chen will tell you have glaucoma when you dont. Stay away from this place. There are much better optometrists out there who truly cares about their patients instead of this greedy troll.

STAY away. Dr. Chen has the worst temperament ever. The reviews are true. Shes only after money, perpetually late and just generally an unpleasant human being. Life is too short to put up with her.
