I have been a patient with Dr. Mahatma for more than 5 years. Based on my visits I could say he does a very good analysis, straight forward in his opinions and make right judgments. But the real problem is his staff. May be his office doesnt use a system to track who calls them or required follow ups. So you are on your own, until you get a response for what you have called. I had a visit to his office in June this year and the lab reports he requested had been completed. Every time I call his office, they would take the message and say they will return the call before that evening or the next morning, but would never follow up. Last couple of times, I asked for the same person (Vanessa?) who I spoke to and for that reason she put me to doctors assistant (Clara?). I have also spoken to her in the past for this issue and she was stating the same response as the records need to be reviewed by Dr. Mahatma. I am not sure, why it takes 2 months to review the lab work that he requested. I couldnt wait any longer so I said send me the reports to my address and I am done, then immediately the nurse gets Dr. Mahatmas opinion that there seems to be a symptom identified in the reports, that requires to schedule another visit within 4 weeks. Really? It took more than 2 months to tell me that I need to follow up within 4 weeks? Waiting time in his office is another story. Every time you would have to spend at least 2 hours if not more to get seen by him as he is always past his appointment time. I have also told his staff that when he is late by 2 hours, why dont you call and tell the patients that there is a delay so we can come accordingly. We take permissions to visit his office, and letting us know on time would help. Even the last visit the wait was well over 2 hours. Even though the doctor is good on my opinion, because he doesnt have a good office staff / system to follow up, I have decided to see a different doctor.

Horrible. ...he and his staff are inconsiderate of your time. After not eating the day before and drinking the prep for the colonoscopy he couldnt show up on time for work...I sat there for over two hours l, it wasnt until I made an inquiry was I told it would be another TWO hours...

I do not recommend this doctor at all after I was told to go to the emergency room that he would like me to be admitted to the hospital for a savior stomach pain. Go to find out he didnt say anything and sent me home with nothing for the pain. Theres is more but that is all I can say.

Excellent Dr. My mother probably would not have lived these last years except for him and the higher power! I even took my 17 year old daughter to him. Im going to change to him in 2015.

I have been going to Dr. Mahatma for many years. I find him to be personable and knowledgeable. My wife also goes to him and we have always been very pleased with him and his staff.
