I went in for what I thought was a kidney infection. It was a kidney infection. I am in severe pain, anyone who has experienced a kidney infection would understand. I was treated well at first, but once they found out it was a kidney infection the doctor came in, spoke to me for 15 seconds. Wrote me a prescription for an antibiotic. Up until now all is okay, I ask the nurse may I ask the doctor for something for pain, I am extremely uncomfortable. She tells me to keep taking the Azos, and says the antibiotics will help in a few days. She then says well I will get him if you want, making me feel very uncomfortable as if I am begging for drugs. A few days is an eternity when you are in pain. I have a kidney infection!! My blood pressure is so high, she has me do breathing exercises before taking it. She says she wants a "pretty" blood pressure. I felt embarrassed for even asking, and here I sit at home, in pain, my primary care doctor cant see me for 4 days. That is the ONLY reason I went to the ER. So I can either suffer or actually go to an ER that cares for their patients. What a horrible place. Everyone seems so nice but what good is it, if you leave there in pain and feel just as bad as you did when you got there. Go to Fredricksburg if you can, I have heard they are a lot better. UPDATE: I saw my doctor on Monday. He was livid that they did not do a CT scan or even touch my back where my kidneys are, it is hot to the touch and swollen. I could have died over the weekend, literally. Yes it ruined my Easter but it could have ended my life. If you dont have really good insurance dont go there! I have insurance but it isnt good. I cant think of any other reason they would not have followed standard procedures. I have called 4 times to file a complaint. The hospital will not call back. I am now going to start calling and filing with the big guns. This is a retirement community, many people have Medicare here. I guess if you cant afford good insurance they would rather you just die off. EDIT: One last word. The antibiotic I was given at Petersons caused the skin to peel off my face! I STILL have a kidney infection, which I found out after be rushed to Fredricksburg last night. Thank goodness for that hospital! Fredrricksburg probably saved my life. No one one was sugary sweet as they were at Petersons but they were kind, professional and did there job! I am already feeling better, was given the medications I needed and sent on my way. When I first moved to Kerrville, my father, a long time resident, said "I wouldnt take my pet to Petersons, I understand why now. Unless you are going to bleed out before you get to the hospital go the extra 20 miles to Fredricksburg.

I came in the ER with severe adominal pain. I was diagnosed with gallstones that wont dissolve or pass in June and was told my gallbladder needed to be removed to avoid further complications or else.ASAP. We were in the process of moving plus I did not have any insurance due to my husband changing jobs, so I had to be carefull. It was only matter of time and sure enough I had an episode. I was scared and in extreme pain and worried that I waited to long not knowing what was going to happen an without any insurance I broke down and my husband drove me to the hospital. I CANT THANK THIS HOSPITAL ENOUGH FOR THE KINDNESS THE COMPASSION, AND PROFESSIONALISM THEY SHOWED AND GAVE ME FROM THE MINUTE I WALKED THROUGH THAT DOOR. I dont know all the names of all who helped me threw this Sat. Id like to thank them all starting with admissions. Elizabeth and the lady who checked me in to the one nurse who was carefull about about pricking me for the IV And Michelle who was their threw it all. The doctor who treated me I think his name was Dr. Mason. If Im wrong please forgive me. Not having a primary doctor they hooked me up with a surgeon that will be able to fix me so I will no longer have these episodes and Il be able to live a normal life without all this pain THANK YOU AGAIN. Hopefully Il never have to go back, you all were wonderful I was so scared you got me through it. I highly recommend this hospital. I had a good experience. To me they deserve to be acknowledged. Sincerely grateful, J. Scott

Went in with a pretty painful ear infection (couldnt sleep or eat for around 24 hours) I know thats not serious and didnt mind the wait while more serious patients were taken care of, but they got me back pretty quickly. The nurses were all fantastic but the Dr. Ortiz came in. He checked the non infected ear first the walked around the bed grabbed the top of the infected ear and yanked it. When I yelled in pain he informed me that was how they tested for infection. He then proceeded to sam the scope in my ear and wiggle it around like my ear canal was a cavern then shoved it so far the end touched the back of my ear. After the Sadist felt I had been hurt enough he informed me that they used to have drops that worked really well for the pain but they were pulled by the FDA, but he was smart enough to write a bunch of prescriptions for his kids so they would have them, I however was going to get antibiotic drops which might start working in a few days and then I could eat and sleep. He also said I could try ibuprofren for the pain but it probably wouldnt work. Needless to say I will never be back at Sid Petes again and I wouldnt recommend anyone else go there either. Its midnight the next night, I still havent slept or ate and now the antibiotic drops are stuck in my ear causing even more pain.

I lived in Kerrville for many years, so it goes without saying I had to go to this hospital. My worst experiences being in the emergency room. Dr. Eileen Toloza is one of the worst humans I have ever met. Not only did she tell me how pathetic and a waste of space I was but she did many times in many years. Anytime after the first time we met she would deny me care and tell the nurses to tell me to leave due to insurance. She judged me on the first time I came in. I was pregnant and I had overdosed. I was 17, homeless and I could say this nicely but had been raped by my father. I was just going through all the courts and cops and this woman came in and punished me. She left a huge Impact on my life. She refused me emergency care several times. If i could sue this woman I would. But all I can say is avoid her like a plague. Like i had to do anytime I needed care. Other things she did, in a room for three hours to tell me to leave, told me to leave when I was having 220 bpm heart palpitations. Had to be rushed to the hospital in fredericksburg to be diagnosed with Wolff Parkinsons white syndrome and told I had been in serious danger. This woman would of let me die. She hurt me in a big way, that I will never forget.
