UPDATE!!! Within 30 minutes of posting this I received a personal call from Dr. Fallin in regards to my experience. Dr. Fallin asked for a recap in my words of what occurred and (this is HUGE for me) LISTENED and did not interrupt while I gave a shortened version of my review. He then apologized and let me know that he wanted to make this right. After speaking with Dr. Fallin Ive updated my review to 5 Stars as I believe that He truly cares for his patients as individuals and not just dollar signs. And I plan to use them again for our future eye care needs. ORIGINAL REVIEW If this review were just concerning Dr. Fallin and the exam staff it would without a doubt be 5 stars. But the front desk and billing/cashier ruined what would have otherwise been a pleasant first experience with this office. When I originally scheduled our appointments for the 21st I was told that I could call on the 17th or 20th to verify what payment would be due at the time of service. I called on the 20th and was told that there was NO COST for the exam. After our exams, getting sample lenses, sample cleaner, and selecting and ordering glasses I was directed to Melissa to check out. She proceeded to tell me I owed $179+. I asked what that amount covered as I was informed that there was NO COST and figured I would be paying less that $10 since my glass selection was slightly over what insurance covered. She told me that there was a change for a contact lens exam and fitting fee. At no point during my previous calls or during my exam was I told that there would be a $100 fee for contact lenses. She then told me since I couldnt pay I had to be escorted to the exam area, monitored while I removed my new contacts and replaced them with my old. All of this was done loudly and in front of other customers waiting to pay. Once I had switched out contacts I had to get back in the checkout line with all the people who had just witnessed my walk of shame. Upon reaching the counter Melissa then took my bag of samples and placed them under the counter. When I asked what she was doing she snottily replied "you dont get that if you dont pay". I took issue with this for 2 reasons...1) I was told those were FREE SAMPLES...when they were apparently covered by the $100 fee I was expected to pay. And 2) My childs doctors note, candy and scripted allergy eye drops were in the bag also. I was then told that my bill would be $79. Which was still well over the $10 I thought I should owe. I was informed that there was a $60 charge for the scratch resistant coating on my glasses. I never asked for or selected that option when ordering my glasses. Once my account was corrected I was finally able to pay the $10 I owed and leave. The treatment I received from Melissa and the dishonest billing practices have ensured that I will locate a different provider for our next annual exams and purchases. I just wonder how many other people they have sprung these fees on who pay just to prevent being embarrassed by Melissa and her crew.

Ive been legally blind (without corrective vision) my entire life and began wearing glasses at age 5. My parents and I used the same Optometrist since I was in high school; great Dr, but it just wasnt working for me, especially after lasik eye surgery at age 21 and then a touch up a year later. I am 29 now and my vision has slowly continued to deteriorate faster than expected, especially my night vision. Even my contacts were giving my vision troubles. I decided I needed to try something different. A quick Google search illustrated that the Vision Center of W TX was the obvious choice with its sum 50+ 5 star reviews. I called and Dr Woodrich was able to get me in within a week. I told her my story and what I was hoping for and she began with her magic. She genuinely cares about her patients and spent a great deal of time with me during my first exam, making sure I walked out 100% satisfied, and I did. I instantly saw better with the contacts she prescribed me as soon as I exited the building, but the best part is my night vision is so much better. I still have the star burst/halo effect, but thats normal after lasik surgery, and it is so much better now than before. I couldnt be happier. Shes very friendly, intelligent, and loves her job. The other Drs hold high reputations as well. The overall standards set at this facility, from the time you speak with the courteous front desk clerks all the way through checkout, are obviously set very high. I highly recommend this facility, especially Dr. Woodrich!

I never have to wait for very long. Dr. Riley really took extra time to get my contact prescription perfect. He listened to everything I said and thought of ways to work around issues I was having. I have been legally blind from birth now at 37 years old, with his persistence; together we got my vision to 20/100 with contacts. I am so excited and thankful. I have seen many eye doctors in my life. He is the first to leave the lights on while doing the vision exam. This sounds so simple but when I left other clinics, my prescription never worked like it did in that dark exam room. Kaleb, the Optician right there in the same office put extra time and concern into making sure my driving glasses, biopics worked prefect for me. Thank you Dr. Riley, Kaleb, and every single staff member from the front desk to the amazing ladies that had the painful job of helping me put my contacts in and teaching me how to get them in and out.. The Vision Center of West Texas has been a true blessing in my life and to my family. My kids noticed a huge difference after my first visit. Normally the eye doc visit meant me coming home with a horrible headache and a prescription that just never helped at all. That is not the case now that I have a Doctor that listens to me and encourages me to make notes of things that cause problems so that we can find ways to work around them.

Dr. Kelly - I really appreciate you calling me regarding my bill. As a responsible citizen I would have paid of my bill. But you were humble and kind enough to understand what occurred and waived my bill off. I really appreciate it. I never would have thought that you would read my review, but I am impressed by your dedication to improvise. On the second note, in my anger and frustration I failed to inform the readers that the Doctor who evaluated my daughter was remarkable, she went in detail not just with me but also my 8 year old. Continue the good work Dr. Kelly in building relations with patients having the right approach of building faith in you. Thank you and much appreciated. Minnie

I havent been to an optometrist in many years. I was blown away at the level of service here! After a few diagnostic tests, Dr. Fallin corrected my vision in a very time efficient manner. I didnt know how much better I would be able to see. There was a very wide selection of glasses and options to fit most price points. Cody assisted me in picking out some frames that best suited my tastes and budget. He was very patient and explained to me all that was offered. I got my glasses the very next day! I would highly recommend this place. Very friendly staff! Thanks!
