I saw an available appointment on "Zocdoc" for Joshua James for Tuesday 3:30pm. So the next morning I called their office to schedule and appointment. I was told that since I have tricare insurance I would need a referral. I dont have a pcp so I asked what should I do instead. The receptionist said that a referral from my gyno would suffice or a referral from a minute clinic would work. I called my gyno right after and was told a nurse would contact me back. I got impatient after a few hours and decided to go to the minute clinic. I was seen there and they were working on faxing over the information so I called the Mickeney clinic again to insure the time was still open and she said yes and that she hadnt received the fax yet. I asked her if it was OK that I brought a copy to the office to hurry things along and she said that was fine. So I got the copy drove 40minutes to the clinic then called once I was in the parking lot to verify where their office was and she told me where to park. I got into the office and the receptionist tells me the doctor is double booked and that I could come back tomorrow. In the four times I called she never once said the appointment was taken. After all of the hoops I jumped through (scheduling child care, getting the referral, driving 40 minutes) to get an appointment that was the end result. On top of all of that ends up I never needed a referral....my gyno got back to me and since my insurance is ppo and not hmo I can go anywhere. The ladies at the front need to get their act together and learn more about how insurance works before dealing with clients. This is unacceptable.

Dr. James saw my husband very quickly (at an hours notice, actually) and was instrumental in the rapid diagnosis of his metastatic cancer. Dr. James is an expert surgeon--not only did my husband have very little pain during and after his surgery, but the incision was made so that if he needed more extensive surgery, they could use the same place (only one scar!), and he put the incision right where there was a little wrinkle. A month later, the scar was already invisible. Dr. James is a very caring physician who will explain every thing, answer any question, even show you on his TV screen what someones throat looks like while he examines it using the scope. Very caring, very competent, very up to date. You will not be disappointed in this man: he gives excellent care.

Had an ear problem, took three visits to the doctors office to correct the problem, I was charged for every visit. I am now having a throat issue, he misdiagnosed it the first time, went for another visit because he misdiagnosed the first time and was fully charged again . He now want to see me, and charge me for a third visit. I find it troubling that when a doctor misdiagnoses your problem, you should go charged repeatedly for his mistake.

Dr. James has always been amazing. 2 kids with tubes, done by him and they have done amazing. I also had immediate hearing loss in one ear and was really worried I would not get it back. Dr. James got me on the right meds and test and I have my hearing back! Highly suggest him!

Allergy nurses are terrible, they never call back. They are never around... Look elsewhere, better choices out there.
