Incompetence is the word I would use to sum up my visit to this practice. I went for the first time yesterday and waited 2 hours in the waiting room, and another hour in the exam room. During the wait room time we had the privilege of listening to Elmo repeatedly for the two hours. As a chronic migraine sufferer I can only imagine what that experience would be like with a migraine, thank God I didnt have one. When I finally saw the doctor, she seemed unable to speak correctly, and confused about simple statements I made. I actually left wondering if she even had a medical degree because she just acts confused and unsure of what she is doing or saying. She stated she would fax my prescriptions to the pharmacy early the next morning after she received the results from my blood work. When I called the pharmacy early this morning they were not there. I have now called the doctor twice to request my prescriptions be faxed over and they are still not there. Needless to say, I will not be returning to her practice, and for anybody considering it be prepared for extremely long wait times, and a very low income looking office combined with an incompetent doctor. I would rate this zero stars if I could.

We have been seeing Dr. Cummings since January. I overlooked the first time I had an appointment and waited 2 hours before being called, then another hour before seeing the doctor. But after my husband, who always schedules his appointment at the first available time, had to wait also, we started to get frustrated. I have been once that I was in and out in under 2 hours. One other time I was sick and the clinic was closed to patients and Dr. Cummings agreed to see me anyway. However, these were 2 times out of the more than 10 now. With those 2 exceptions, we have never been in and out in less than 3 hours. Anything I needed a follow-up on or referral for Ive had to call and make sure the staff gets it done. I have been trying to get a prescription refilled now for a month. This week the clinic has been closed 3 days out of 5. They give no notice when they will not be open. The hours stated on the door are apparently not accurate. If you are accustomed to prompt, efficient doctor offices this is not for you.

Dr. Cummings is the best primary care physician that Ive ever had. In fact, I moved an hour away from Red Oak, and I still drive so that I can keep her as my GP. She is an excellent diagnostician, very patient, kind, polite, and works many hours to see as many patients as possible. Yes, there is always a long wait, and I usually can not be out of the office within 2.5 hours of my appointment. The scheduling staff could probably do a better job with that, but I also know that Dr. Cummings stays as late as necessary to see that each patient gets the time she/he deserves. I definitely would rather the appointment take a long time to get proper care than being rushed in and out of a McDoctors Urgent Care Clinic. My health is important enough for me to take up a few hours every so often to get the best physician and treatment.

Dr Cummings is a good doctor and is easy to talk to...if you can get through to her. I have called three times in a week to get a call back in regards to paperwork that she has promised to do for me for my work and Im still waiting for a call even though they promise to get back to you within 24 hours. This last message Ive left is more begging them to please call me back and assist me. The wait time is considerable no matter when you make the appointment although the medical assistants are friendly. The front desk staff seem disinterested and the phones ring off the hook. I dont blame the doctor, its the staff that are the issue in my opinion.

After filling out paperwork, the front desk staff, informed me that since I was there for a physical, if the doctor discussed anything with me (I.e. highblood pressure, pain or other health issue, I would receive a bill for 217.00. Since my physical would be billed to insurance and my office vist, would be billed to me since my deductible hasnt been met. Is money so important that you cant discuss your findings of my physical with charging an additional fee??? I cant believe you can bill insurance for performing a physical and then bill me for discussion of the findings... That has to be double billing.

There is usually a wait to get a appointment. A wait to get vitals done. But when she comes in to speak to you she doesnt let nurses or anybody interrupt her while with a patient. She is very attentive and makes sure you are satisfied before you leave.
