Several days ago I received notifications from the Texas Department of Health that one of my cultures tested positive for a parasite... after being notified the previous week by the Sunnyvale Medical Group that my test results were all completely normal. After calling to confirm these results with the Sunnyvale Medical Group I was warned that the call from the Texas Department of Health might have actually been a scam. Naturally I called the Texas Health Department to determine its legitimacy and discovered that Sunnyvale Medical Group simply forgot to request my parasite test results leaving me without treatment for a week. Meanwhile this parasite has been burrowing into my organs, causing blood in my stool, abdominal pain, fever, and a dry cough. When I called the Sunnyvale Medical Group back and tried to explain the situation they said they would look into it, but I discovered the following day that they had made no attempt to contact the Health Department about my results. After going up in person twice to their office, numerous phone calls back and forth between the two health companies, and several "failed faxes" Ive been apologized to and assured that Sunnyvale Medical Group will get my results and write me a prescription for antibiotics to kill the parasite. It has been 1 week of "forgotten results" and 3 days with this medical office trying and failing to get my lab results (even though I went up in person and signed a release for them)... and still nothing. I should have been treated 10 days ago for this. This has been the most ridiculous situation and if the Sunnyvale Medical Group would just call the Texas Department of Health (with the number and name I left for them)... instead of faxing the release one time and saying its in the Health Departments Court maybe this would have been done by now. Oh and the Health Department has already called the Sunnyvale Medical Group three times and been unable to get through- something I understand since Ive gone to voice mail every time Ive called. I think its a little ridiculous that I can easily get through to the Department of Health Specialist who works on my case, but not to my doctor or any of their assistants at a small medical practice. Im lucky the Health Department called me in the first place or I would have already scheduled an expensive colonoscopy procedure per the recommendation of Dr. Goethals. Thanks Sunnyvale Medical Group for taking 10 days and counting to get my results. How about l just tell you the parasite name and the recommended medication so you can go ahead and write the prescription? Wait you have legal procedures to follow... would you like me to go pick up the results and hand deliver them to you? Didnt know that was a patients responsibility especially since you are the ones who sent the samples off the lab, but hey my health matters to me so Ill gladly do it.

Horrible!! They practice the "bait and switch". I was lured in with one price and when I arrived as scheduled, and was filling out the paperwork, they said it would be another price, significantly more! They take advantage of sick people. They say "oh, a mistake was made. It should have been this price. We have policies and procedures and we cannot break that!" That is rubbish! The doctors may or may not be good, but they hide behind a bunch of administrators out to maximize revenue at the expense of patients health. Preying on them while they are at their weakest. Stay Away! There are other doctors in the area. At least most of them are upfront with their costs. It is practices like this that shows everything that it wrong with medicine. They are out to gouge the patient and the insurance company, without any regard for the care given. The big problem with medicine is transparency. This medical group is not only not transparent, they draw you in with one rate and then change it when you arrive and are hopefully to ill to not pay. ****AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!

I LOVE Dr. Boone and his NP. What I DONT love is that I cant seem to find an insurance carrier who Dr. Boone is a participating provider of. I am one of these people who makes entirely too much money to qualify for an Obamacare plan, yet I do not work for an employer who offers a group policy. Therefore, I MUST choose a lame-o government health insurance plan. However, (and this is the fun part), about 99% of my doctors dont accept the government plans. Going into 2016, this is the third year that I have gone around and around with Dr. Boones office to try and help me understand why Sunnyvale Medical doesnt accept any Obamacare plans, for those of us who are not "blessed" to be in a group plan through our workplace. I have money to spend and I am very health-conscious, AND I pay any outstanding medical bills on time, but Sunnyvale Medical doesnt want me as a patient unless I pay cash. Ive even contacted Sunnyvale Meds parent company, Texas Health. And have gotten the same runaround. Soooo frustrating.

well..they are actually located in the Medical Bldg next door to the new Sunnyvale Hospital. If you live or work in the Mesquite, Sunnyvale, Forney, etc area, this is the place to go. Plenty of Drs to see you..waiting time is minimal and they are really good people. They have everything there..xrays, blood work, so you dont have to go someplace else to get things done. Even the Nurse Practitioners are great, Erica is my favorite. Young or old, emergency or not, you really should try these people out...and the hospital is great too..I go there for all my mammograms every year and bone density instead of one of those imaging places..they take way too long

My Doctor ( Dr. Boone) is a great doctor, however there is one receptionist that is very rude and lazy and never knows what she is doing. She is trashy and a slob, I have seen her sitting at her station eating Ice Cream and gossiping instead of helping the patients that come in. When i have asked her a question or why its taking so long she likes to get attitude and just say " I dont know" get off your ass and do some work. The wait is very long to see my Doctor ( usually 2 hours on average but has been up to 3 hours). I wish that Dr Boone had his one practice so that I could avoid all of the bad points of going to Sunnyvale Medical Group.

I have been going to Dr. Boone for a few years now and it is always an enjoyable experience. He is genuine and actually cares about what you need,and how he can help. His nurse practitioners have also both been great whenever I had an emergency and couldnt see him,they always took care of me and made sure I was getting the help I needed. Thanks for everything Dr. Boone and Co.!!

Excellent service, Nurse Practitioner Lindsay Goethals goes above and beyond. Is nice to actually have a relationship with my healthcare provider. I feel she always does whats in my best interest. Would highly recommend.
