Dr. Lea has prescribed a cholesterol medication for me. After taking it for about a short time I began to notice an increase in muscle pain, which is a side effect. I called Dr. Leas office to ask if he an put me on my previous medication. The office staff told me they would talk to Dr. Lea and call me back. When they called me back, they told me they spoke to his nurse who said I had to come in. When I arrived for the appointment on September 12, 2013, I checked in at the front desk and was immediately charged $183.07 for the visit. I was then shown to the examining room and Dr. Lea came in a moment later. When he asked why I was there, I told him about the muscle pain and to please change my prescription. He told me I could have just called and I told him that I tried but his nurse said I have to come in and that I was charged $183.07 which surprised him. He suggested cutting the dose in half and offered to listen to my heart so I would "get my moneys worth" and also offered to have his nurse weigh me (which didnt happen). I saw Dr. Lea for less than 5 minutes. When I left, I stopped by the front desk to complain and they gave me the phone number for UT Southwesterns Account Services. I called Account Services immediately uopn returning to my office. I left a voicemail and heard back from them a couple of days later. They took the information and said they would get back to me in a few days. They never did and I called again and repeated the process. This happened several times over the course of several weeks. On November 5 I finally had enough and left a voicemail that I would be deducting the $183.07 from whatever balance I owed for other medical visits. This afternoon, November 7, I finally received a return phone call. Account Services told me that Dr. Lea stated that I had to come in for a change of prescription and that the charges were justified, contradicting what he had told me. When I pointed out that he had told me the opposite, the woman told me I was required to pay all the balances and was very rude about it. I am disgusted Dr. Lea and UT Southwesterns greed and disregard for a patients welfare!

I had Dr.Lea and Patel and this a convient place since its not far from where I work. My boyfriend had problems coming here and he rarely sees the doctor so when he decided to go his doctor was Lea. I was told that Lea would be very rude to him and unhelpfilly in providing high blood pressure medicine to control his hbp. With both Lea and Patel I am usually seen for 5 minutes or less and spend more time waiting in the most of the time an empty clinic. I feel Like the doctors in San Antonio took better care of me. When I complain of pain here, I get tested and sometimes Im not given an answer. In San Antonio I told my doctor Judith my problems and I would gets tested and answers (except for the sleep apnea one) I found out my back hurt due to my hip being higher than the other and was given physically therapy as well I also had an l5 par defect. I got insoles made for my feet due to being slight deformed so I have trouble balancing and walking but I feel like over here, they dont pay attention to you and walk out before you can tell them everything. I went to this office because of the convince of me working across the street. I ask if I can see a doctor for multiple reasons and they said for insurance purposes I have to split up the appointments when I remember Lea wouldnt even do that. Who knows, maybe Patel is doing it the right way and Lea wasnt. It just seems kinda pointless to me when the clinic is so eempty.

What a well kept secret is the UT Southwestern Sports Medicine clinic in Richardson. From the doctors to the office staff to the physical therapists, there only are exceptional things to say. I could not have asked for a more professional, personable orthopedist as Dr. Dimeff. His diagnosis was right on and the treatments a relief. I couldnt have improved however without the outstanding, knowledgeable physical therapists. Cheers to Emily Middleton for her patience, intelligence, and compassionate skills that have brought me over the hurdle I faced. The equipment is state of the art and they have things for just about every joint, muscle in our bodies.The kind office staff are a bonus. If you have a need, then I highly recommend your doctor refer you to the UT Southwestern Sports Medicine clinic in Richardson, but shhh its a secret.

I couldnt get in to see them, but the operator, Andrea, was AMAZING. She told me they may not be able to help but I could come in for a workup, she gave me the number for the neuro center at the main UTSouthwestern instead of just the switchboard (who Ive already tried and told was nope, no appointment for you; the office is "transitioning" and you need a doctor referral. Besides, theyre not taking new patients.) She tried and tried to help me find someone. I would recommend this office to anyone based on the competence of their office staff. Andrea was amazing and definitely made my day better after spending all morning trying to find one damn specialist I could go to. Becuase of her, I may just be able to find one.

Had an 8 am appointment with Dr. Patel to look at my high blood pressure, there was no wait, so I was able to get right in to see the doctor. My BP was high, so they gave me an EKG, all the while making me feel comfortable, as I am always nervous around doctors and nurses. Glad the results were good and I am looking forward to my follow up visit later this week to see how my new BP medicine is working out.

Patient and Family oriented. Great customer and professional service! I came for an appointment and they did everything for me (CT scan, all of my labs, and I discussed the results with my doctor in timely manner). They have coordinated my treatment the same day! Great service, I will come back again!
