I went to this hospital( looking for help I was pregnant of 22 weeks) because University just sent me back home with pain on a Wednesday, so we decided to go to Baptist next day on a Thursday , I was in waiting area for hours in pain finally they took me in to check on my baby , they told me that baby was ok so they send me home. But I was in pain so we went down stairs to emergency and they took me in, after hours they decided to send me back upstairs because I was pregnant. It was a horrible experience, ( not enough nurses. One of the nurses told me she was sleepy because she was working for 3 day non stop there, other nurse told me that she was the only nurse for 30 patients) on Saturday the doctor came to my room he ask me some questions and check on me. He turn to the nurse and told her : " I want her on labor and delivery," ok?" . The nurse answer : ok! That was in the morning, well by almost midnight( I was on the same place ,room and bed) star bleeding my husband and my brother went to look for a nurse, wowwww finally they show off they stard running to do what the doctor told them to do hours before . They took me to labor and delivery and told the doctor that I was in labore. He was so upset he even said the " F " word . " why until now if I ask for her in the morning " he said. So they decided to start with medicine to stop the labore and keep my baby girl safe for a few days more or longer. Wow after 3 days in the hospital. Well to late my baby born on July 31 at 2:07 am . But that wasnt enough..... they were not ready to receive my premature baby .... doctor ask for umbilical cord clamps, and guess what????? They went to find theme I dont know were..... so my baby was just there ....after all the bad things we went through....more. end of my story my baby die the same day she born. If your pregnant dont go to these hospital . Horrible experience. I lost my baby girl. All what I went through was negligence.

My sister, Meagan Cherizola, whom is pregnant, went into the Baptist E.R. at approximately 8:30 p.m. and was verbally abused and humiliated by two female nurses who were working at the E.R. at the time. This is not the first time that this has happened. These two particular nurses decided it was okay to state rude remarks towards my sibling regarding her pregnancy. One nurse stated: "Why does she keep getting pregnant if she knows she is going to get sick like this?" The other nurse stated:"Doesnt she know about condoms? This is her third." My sibling is not an idiot and is already having a difficult pregnancy, as were her two previous pregnancies. Not that it was any of the nurses business what is in her past medical records for that is the Dr.s area of expertise. Not only were they very condescending, disrespectful, and just plain ignorant, they also neglected her requests for a blanket and a sandwich (which was allowed per Dr.s request), whom also only went in to check her heart beat and then dismiss her, although she has been unable to hold anything down for almost an entire week. The only "hero" in this story is a male nurse who did manage to finally at long last give her a blanket and a sandwich, although she was extremely hesitant to accept them from this male nurse due to the fact that the two previous times that she has gone to this specific E.R. he has tried to watch her undress. Which is a form of sexual harassment. We were also told that she "was going to stay for over night evaluation, but theyre taking too long to clean the other rooms upstairs so were just going to send you home." I cannot believe this E.R. and this medical center in general.

In 1980 while working at KAFB, I got violently ill. My family bought me to BMC, where I was treated with dignity and respect. Dr Reyes, neurosurgeon, found out I had a brain tumor that he removed. Great treatment, service and empathy from the whole hospital staff. Fast forward 25 years, I no longer work at KAFB, I go to University using Care-link where I went due to an impending heart attack. Since the clinic is not staffed to treat heart attacks, I was sent to BMC by EMS. I had University orders stating I needed to have a heart cath, a stress test and a 2-D echo. The 4 days I was kept there, the testing machines were all broken! I was given a sleeping pill at 10 pm and awakened at 11 pm to get my vitals taken, I was unable to go back to sleep. I was discharged to go home after 4 days. 4 days after getting home I was admitted to University Hospital where I had all my testing done and it was determined that I had indeed suffered from a heart attack. I was treated with dignity and respect. In 2014 my husband once again took me to BMC due to heart problems. The ER doctor evidently thought I was pretending so he gave me an anti- psychotic pill. I was allergic and became very hallucinogenic trying to climb off the gurney and yelling at people in the hallway (I know because my husband informed me) when the doctor was called he said be sure to tell others of her allergic reaction and promptly sent me home. The service, care and evidently BMC mission statement have all walked out leaving uncaring, selfish individuals in their place.

I delivered both of my children at a Baptist hospital with nothing but wonderful things to say however this is my first experience with the downtown SA location and it has been far from wondeful. EVERY time I have called to get info regarding my mother, every single person has been so rude and unwilling to listen. They just cut you off mid sentence to tell you they cant/ wont help you. I understand HIPPA and what not but give the family some assurance that the patient is ok, Im not asking for medical records. I was also told, very rudely by the desk in the ER while waiting 3 hours to hear something about my mother that there were PRIORITY patients being dealt with first. I know the ER is full of people with more or less urgency than the next but you dont tell someone that their family member is not priority. While trying to visit with my mother I made a wrong turn and approached a nurses station to ask help. There were 6 nurses in a conversation, I waited patiently for over 5 minutes. I made eye contact with at least 3 of them without even as much as a "we will be right with you". Visiting hours for behavioral health are as follows :7:30pm to 9pm. So you only have an hour and a half time frame at night time to visit your loved ones which is ridiculous. Im beyond upset with this hospital and will do everything I can to make sure none of my family is treated here again.

My daughter just presented herself at the ED for severe abdominal pain. Shes only 26 and has already been down this road with Stage-4 cervical cancer, and is scared to death. She was in tears and needed help. The two "nurses" at the ED check in desk COMPLETELY ignored her while they discussed various topics (cosmetics and such) completely unrelated to their jobs. This went on for several minutes while my daughter stood there in tears, being completely and deliberately ignored. My daughter has tattoos. Is that the problem? When they finally did find an opportunity in their critical cosmetic discussion to give her attention, they merely said, "Do you need to see a doctor?" and handed her a form to fill out. Wow. Caring? Professional? Humane? No, no, and no. And to think I recommended yall having worked there as a contractor for quite a while. Your new culture is obviously flawed, or hopefully unaware of what some of your employees are doing while "providing patient care" when they can fit it in to their personal time. This occurred today, the 24th of February at approximately 1330 hrs. My daughter was too upset to bother with names, but she says one of the "nurses" was "an unremarkable, middle age, chunky, Hispanic lady.
