If I could give negative stars I definitely would!! Please do not go to this hospital unless absolutely necessary!!! I am scheduled for shoulder surgery, thank God at a different Methodist location, so all I needed was to get some lab work and an EKG. On December 27 I went to the hospital in the afternoon so I could have my paperwork completed for the following day. The following morning on December 28 I showed up for my lab work. The nurse that took my blood had me wait 45 minutes with no other patients before me. Because I had to fast the night before I needed a little extra time to collect a urine sample. She said no problem just come back after you have collected your sample and knock on her door. She asked the gentelman at the front desk to escort me to go get my EKG which it is his job to escort people to the proper place that they need to be. He didnt know where they performed the EKGs so the nurse told me to wait so she could find out where I should go. She said she had worked there for years, you would think she would know, by the way it was on the second floor. I never saw her again. 45 minutes later a nurse came to the waiting room and asked if anybody was there to have an EKG done. I stood up and the lady at the front desk told me NO you arent here for and EKG but I gave my orders to the nurse and on we went for my test. She was so nice but couldnt understand what all the confusion was about being that I came in for something so simple. She didnt trust that the results would be faxed to my doctor so she faxed them herself. Thank God. So she escorts me downstairs for me to turn in my urine sample. I knock on the door...no answer...no answer...no answer...the kind lady at the front desk called around the hospital but could not locate her..while I waited and waited and waited!!! After about 30 minutes the nurse had not returned so the lady at the front desk took my sample and my lab work order. The order clearly stated that the results needed to be faxed to my doctor immediately as I myself stated to the nurse. So...I called my doctors office yesterday to make sure they had received my results. WELL what do you know!!! The EKG results had been faxed over but she had to call this hospital, which she said was not a nice experience, and finally got with someone that had my results and had to have them fax them over. This was 10 days later. What a shame!!! This was such a horrible experience just plain rediculous!!!

I live with my elderly father more than an hour away from San Antonio. The Methodist system is what his insurance covers. I had never heard of this particular branch when informed my father needed to be transferred for surgery from our small town ER. In the midst of the stress anf anxiety you hope and pray you are putting your trust in the right people. I have very mixed feelings about my fathers recent stay at Metropolitan. For the most part, he was treated kindly and decently. I was far from pleased at what seemed like disrespect for my opinion and observation of my fathers situation the evening after his surgery. He came through his operation pretty decently but when I voiced my concern for what sounded like rather extreme weeziness I was basically pooh-poohed , told his O2 levels and lungs sounded good and walked away from. I am not a difficult or combative person. I take pride in the polite manners I was raised to have, but regardless of any nurses experience or what the numbers revealed, I knew what I was hearing was very intense and it did cause me anxiety. My father has a history of sleep apnea; the surgeon even mentioned it in passing. I realize my father was not the only patient but if someone could have cared enough to take only 2 or 3 minutes to explain potential options or ease my mind at all it would have been greatly appreciated. I stayed awake listening to make sure he was ok and finally went to a different person for help later on. Also was confused at what seemed st least slightly haphazard and disorganized pksns for his discharge . I was still concerned with some issues he had that no one appeared bothered to discuss or check on . He did have several pleasant and professional nurses who did seem to genuinely care a do a good job; it was not all bad. But disappointed and to be honest, fighting a little anger.

My wife went in, she found out she was pregnant because the sonogram technician let it slip, since we had no idea she (the technician) decided it was best to say nothing more. They drew blood from her without orders and said a nurse would be by to explain what the blood was for. An hour went by before we had contact again. The nurse didnt explain anything. I ended up getting kicked out into the lobby, and I remembered my wife didnt have a way to communicate. So I asked the nurse at the emergency check in if she could take the tablet we had to my wife so she could communicate with me. I told her I just got kicked out and she said it was fine for me to take the tablet to my wife. The male nurse that kicked me out the first time kind of yelled at me and said I told you to get out and you came right back in. Then proceeded to ask the officer to kick me off the property. Side note, we walked 2 miles to the hospital, so I was stuck outside for an hour while they stuck her with an iv. We were in iw section, some chairs right behind the first door. Clearly not an emergency. While I wasnt with her the iv on her arm popped and she bled out pretty good. I told the staff my wife is afraid of being stuck, on top of that she isnt capable of handling the decisions that need to be made. I read the hospitals patients rights and clearly there were many violations. Acct#m262795427

I went there Around 7 Weeks pregnant, Because i was having Cramps & brown discharge. Well The labor Area was so nice treated me like they cared about me, BUT once they send me to the E.R . It was so different. The gay guy was cool & social At first then Other 3 nurses took care of me, & they seemed like they were already judging me in their head, I felt uncomfortable. They did not smile or talk or had said anything. They seem like the Hitler team & you were just ready to attack when ready. So once again im waiting for everything no one told me anything what was going on. I would ask questions they respond with one word. They told me to wait 30 minutes, They had me waiting two hours. Then I went to ask the gay guy at front, He started giving me the I HATE my job Attitude. So I told my self wow now i remember never to come to this hospital AGAIN. They are careless. Then they send me to the back 2 hours later, We have this satan guy, That was just being rude to me & was forcing me to get out after handing my papers. I even asked one nurse for an ultrasound she said yes I Dont see why not, then satan guy told me no we cant do that, then I have another lady in the background screaming THIS IS NOT A CHEEKUP. I HATE this hospital never again. & My care for people, I will tell my friends & family my story.!!!
