I am writing this review because the events were so disturbing I felt that people need to know. We have a dog that has been in the family for over 16 years so when moving to the area it was very important to find the right facility to care for him and his aging needs. We met Dr. Mintzes at True Companion and she was fantastic! The problem was the owner, Dr. Webb. Our dog had an emergency, was secreting big pools of blood, and Dr. Webb was the doctor on call. She told me to bring our dog in right away! Of course we did, the family was worried as you can imagine and came as well. Our dog has extreme anxiety issues and when consulting with the front desk they said they understood all of his conditions. When Dr. Webb came into the treatment room she asked her assistant to pick-up our dog. I let her try but he began wriggling immediately, trying to jump down. I explained to Dr. Webb about the anxiety and told her that I can hold him while she listened to his heart and did her initial evaluation. She instantly got upset and shouted that this wasnt going to work for her! That if the dog bit her then it was going to be the assistants fault not mine! I tried to explain to her that he has never bit anyone but he was so old, sick and anxious that it would be easier if I held him and that we did this with the last visit with Dr. Mintzes and it went fine. Before I could finish the words, she slapped her paperwork on the table and left, my dog went barreling out the door into the lobby and hid underneath my husbands legs, my granddaughter was in the room but pinned up against the wall looking afraid. Dr. Webb told her staff that we needed to find another vet. Wait - this is an emergency! I have been in the medical profession for over 22 years and to have someone walk out on an emergency because they didnt want the patient to be held by their family is most disturbing. Not sure that you should be practicing medicine of any kind. Dr. Webb was unprofessional, rude and quite honestly I feel she just wanted the money for the visit. Not sure how any medical professional can have a bleeding patient and decide not to treat them???? I went to the lobby in shock, my husband had already taken our dog outside to calm him down. The front desk personnels first words were "there is nothing we can do" when you find another doctor we can send the records over." What? Not, " I am sorry", not "what happened?". It was obvious that this is not unusual behavior for Dr. Webb. It was then that I found out that she owned the place and that there was nothing they could do, they just worked there. We left, my husband speechless and in shock, my grand daughter crying and my dog still bleeding. The saddest part about all of this is we found a great doc in Dr. Mintzes, she was on her day off and we couldnt get care for our very sick, bleeding dog - an emergency visit.! Dr. Mintzes is a caring and compassionate veterinarian but the organization she works for is not. We need a professional organization that will help us care for our elder dog over these next years and if there is an emergency, know that he will be treated. This is NOT the place. You cannot count on True Companion to do there when you need them. From what I experienced, the other members that I met, this is just a job for them. For these reasons, I write this post. I hope this helps anyone looking for a veterinarian practice for their family pets.

If there were more stars I would choose them. I was looking for an animal hospital to take my baby to that would have a great vet and staff and that wouldnt rip me off. My little girl was sick and I knew I would have to put her down soon. Not a good time to be in the market for a vet. When I went there for the first time, Dr. Webb saw my baby and did a thorough exam. She very gently told me the bad news. She didnt give me false hope or try to get more money out of me. She was very kind and considerate to not only me but my dog too. The staff was amazing and very kind and understanding. Dr. Webb gave me some medicine to give to my dog and told me to check back after a few days. Well I, of course, forgot because I was so caught up with my dog and making excuses for the inevitable. So she called me to check in on my baby and myself. I have NEVER had a vet do that and I thought that was the best. So when I made my appointment to put my dog down the girls at the front explained everything to me. I told them that I wanted to be with my baby and hold her during the process. When I got there, they took myself, my baby girl, sister and my mother into the room. when we walked in, they already had a mat and blanket down on the ground for my dog and I. When all three of us and my dog were on the floor, the staff and Dr. Webb were completely understanding and worked around ALL of us. I am sure that wasnt easy. They gave me all the time I needed and not once rushed me and my last bit of time with my sweet girl. When it was done, I sat outside the room and one of the the staff came over to me and gave me the best big hug. The next day my door bell rang and I opened the door to a delivery guy. He was there with a rose and vase with a card from the animal hospital giving me their condolences. I could not have found a better place and a better group of people to help me through such a heartbreaking time. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone!! I will definitely be going to them with my next dog, without a doubt. Thank you soooooo much True Comanpion!! You will always have a special place in my heart.

While the facility is nice and the staff seems knowledgeable, I was very disappointed with True Companion. We had recently moved to the Spring area and had to leave a vet we absolutely loved. I read all the promising reviews and felt comfortable with my choice. We have two dogs and when we went in to get our puppy her second round of shots the vet and tech seemed nothing but annoyed with her. Yes she is hyper but she is a high-energy breed AND A PUPPY! The eye rolls and sarcasm was not what I wanted to see and hear from someone who is supposed to be taking care of our pets. Also they do not supply flea and tick and heart worm medications. YOU HAVE TO GO ONLINE TO 1-800-PETMEDS, if this was the case Id just drive to my vet once a year to get them checked up their to order online. And they never provide reminders for pet check ups. Im sorry but if doctors and dentists have to remind us to come in for check ups, vets should do the same. Finally the pricing is OUTRAGEOUS. The quote to have our puppy spayed and updated on shots was over $500. Where we ended up taking her was around $200 and she received some additional services that we did not have priced out through True Companion. I was trying so hard to stick with a Texas A&M grad for our vet and a huge reason why we chose True Companion. But again highly HIGHLY disappointed and still searching for a compassionate and reasonable vet in the Spring area.
