I found this office on Facebook through their "New Patient Special" that sounded really great! X-rays, cleaning, gum check, consultation, whitening kit--all for $99! WOW! I called to make an appointment (which I got in that afternoon--Ive never in my life gotten into a dentist the day I called for a cleaning, because they are usually so booked for cleanings) as was a little leery when they asked to have my credit card info to "hold my appointment specifically for the new patient special." I should have said, "nope, Ill pay after the service," hung up and gone to a different office right then...but I gave them the benefit of the doubt. I also shouldnt have been as trusting when filling out the paperwork. Im the person that breezes right through the intake forms, initials, whatever, so yes, I did not read their fine print. The fine print goes like this: If you are found to have anything besides 1mm-2mm gaps indicating early gum disease, they will not do a regular dental cleaning on you. When I was in the chair, the staff was friendly, great, the office had many nice features to it that I had not experienced at other offices. When I was in the chair, it was suggested that I get a laser whitening treatment ($500+), that I needed to get a $170 electric toothbrush, sealant on many of my molars (they didnt give me a price on that), and when the gum check was done, the dentist suggested I do a deep cleaning on all 4 quadrants of my mouth starting at a base level of $1200 and possibly going up to $2100. WHAT?! I had put off going to the dentist since I moved out here, so it had been 2 years since a regular cleaning, but my home care did not change. I have had great dental care when in Katy, TX and went to the same dentist for 20 years. I always left my cleanings with, "great teeth, keep up the good work, your teeth are beautiful," to..."You have onset periodontal disease." I wanted a second opinion, so Dr. Chavez said, "Dont go to another regular dentist, I suggest you go to a specialist. Why dont you go see my friend who is a periodontist in San Antonio?" And wrote me a referral. I did NOT take his advice and did go to a regular dentist (because I figured, his buddy would probably tell me the same, "doom and gloom" story) and my new dentist said there were a few areas of concern due to light teeth grinding. The other evidence of periodontal disease was not there, and he did not suggest a deep cleaning. What I did not leave Dr. Chavezs office with, was a cleaning...which is really the ONLY thing I wanted off the Facebook coupon. "Didnt you read the form?" the hygienist asked me. Obviously not well enough! I paid a $99 stupid tax, and I hope you dont have to. Sadly (as Ive been watching) this review will probably not be left on their site long enough to help people stay away from this dentists office. I was even asked, "did you read our reviews?" Why yes I did and was happy so many people seemed happy. But I think they spend a lot of time and effort showing you what you want to see, instead of what is actually there. I feel like a customer who went in to get an oil change, was convinced that I needed a transmission flush, tire rotation, break job and engine rebuild, and left with none of that, even the oil change I originally came in for. I felt like the Facebook coupon was a classic "Bait and Switch" technique, and I hope you go elsewhere for your dental care.

I first entered Dr. Jairo Chavezs office on a Friday morning, desperately searching for a dentist to look at a cracked tooth on my upper left. It cracked the night before when eating, and the jagged edge was irritating my cheek when I ate. The next day I was determined to get it fixed because it was very irritating. Well, to my surprise, every dentist office I went to was closed on Friday on the North Side of San Antonio. I had no idea this was a common practice. After one and a half hours driving around, I was about to give up when I found his office tucked away in the strip center on Highway 46. I walked in and told the receptionist my problem, and right away she had me sit down while she talked to the dentist. A few minutes later, he came out and introduced himself to me, and the next thing I know, I am in the dentist chair, with him making a quick fix to the jagged edge of my tooth at no charge. He knew I was in a desperate situation, and fixed it right away . . . he barely knew my name. He invited me to come back another day for a complete survey and evaluation of my teeth. From that point on, I had complete trust in him and I knew he had my best interests at heart. I knew I had a few issues and needed to get back to his office to get this done. His survey and evaluation confirmed problems that another dentist had warned me about one year ago, but I put it off because of the expense. I had a total of 4 cracked teeth that needed immediate attention. He explained the procedure that was needed and worked out an expense plan that I was able to work into my budget. The difference was . . . Dr. Chavez took the time to understand my personal situation and work with me . . . that I appreciate very much. His work on my teeth was excellent. The four crowns fit perfectly with very little adjustment needed. His staff handled themselves very professionally, and I am very impressed with his overall office operation. The staff was very personal and courteous, and I can tell they have a great boss and enjoy working in your office. I thank Dr. Chavez for a great experience . . . I can honestly say that I enjoyed going to the dentist to get work done on my teeth.

I would not recommend this dentist to anyone. I am extremely disappointed in the service that my husband and I both got at Spring Branch Dental in July of 2016. The only reason why I gave one star at all is because the ladies that were helping from the get-go were very nice and seemed honest. We went in to their office to try them out on a promotion they mailed: $79 for X-rays and a general cleaning. We paid that price each up-front and had to sign saying that our money would not be refunded if we did not qualify for the general cleaning (and it stated that a Deep Cleaning would be recommended if we showed periodontal disease which they described as having a gum measure of 5 with their tool when they check). They did the x-rays and took pictures and did another x-ray and did the pokey thing on our gums. Neither of us had any measures of 5 but still they recommended the deep cleaning. We did not want the deep cleaning as it cost $289.00 per quadrant and we take fairly good care of our teeth and felt we did not need that. They would not honor the regular cleaning we paid for either. We were there for nearly 2 hours and pressured several times about deep cleaning, “Care Credit,” and the newest SoniCare electric toothbrush, etc. when finally we said we needed to leave to get back to our babysitter with our kids. We left with treatment plans quoted at $1,643 (for just mine, my husband’s was similar) even though everyone that checked my teeth and did the x-rays had said how beautiful my teeth were and I have no cavities at all. My husband and I talked more after and just decided we would never go back. Then he started getting tooth pain where they had poked him harder and he said they performed about 6 x-rays on that part of his mouth alone because they kept having trouble (he had dental work done when in the Military on that spot). Also, they did not use any anti-septic or mouthwash on him after. He was in so much pain last night and this morning (Aug. 9) that he went to a different dentist to get it checked. He had not had any problem with it since his military dental work was done. Again, extremely dissatisfied.
