Im extremely dissatisfied with Scott and White and especially Dr. James Charner Allen. I am a student at Texas A&M and last spring I got sick with mono. Over the weekend my symptoms had gotten so bad that I did not feel I could wait until Monday for Beutel Health Services on campus to open, so I went to Scott and White to see why I was having such extreme fatigue and such a sore throat. After making me wait an unreasonable amount of time, Dr. Allen finally came in to the room and asked my symptoms, the first being a sore throat so bad that I could not even swallow my own salivation. Before having the chance to finish explaining my symptoms, he cut me off and told me it was probably just allergies, but if it would really make me feel better he would test for strep throat. He did not even look at my throat other than when he jammed the wooden stick to test for strep throat, which was upsetting, considering a sore throat was my primary complaint and visual deformities of the throat are a good indicator of what could be causing the symptoms. Later he called me to inform me that I in fact did not have strep throat and it was "just allergies". My symptoms progressed and by Monday I went to the on campus doctor. After examining my throat with a flash light, the doctor suspected that I had mono and sure enough after testing my blood she was correct. I was extremely disappointed and frustrated that Dr. Allen could not even give me the time of day to even look at my throat to assess the symptoms, and just simply rushed me out of the room with a misdiagnosis. Later to my dismay, I found that Scott and White never updated my address with the correct information I had given them, and my insurance, for some reason did not cover this charge. Months later, my statement that I was not even aware existed, was sent over to collections, and as student I was forced to pay over $150 for Dr. Allens lazy misdiagnosis, not to mention my credit score was negatively affected as well. I would never recommend Dr. Allen to anyone, but I am also upset with Scott and White for failing to update my file and causing this problem to persist for so long.

F@%*k this place!!!!!!!!! They send you home when youre sick and tell you youre well. If I can give a zero star rating I would. As of 10/23/16 Ive noticed I had a response from the "owner" whoever that might be. My wife went in for Pneumonia which was treated with antibiotics, breathing treatments and Steroids. After about three days with this treatment she began to feel strange, very anxious, confused, mind racing and crying for no reason. She was very scared and she told the doctor and he seemed to think nothing of it, the coughing she had would make her gasp for air and feel like she was drowning and she told the Doctor and he said " If I promise you you wont die will that be good enough for you". After being on antibiotics she requested to see a contagious diseases doctor because her white blood cell count was 2/12 times the normal which the Doctor threw his hands in her face and denied her which frightened her and it was made known to him so he walked to the other side of the room and said "Is this better". She was released a couple of hours later against her will and went home. That was on a Monday. I got her an appointment to see another Doctor at a clinic of B.S. and White but going there with the answer with what was wrong with her. It is call steroid induced psychosis. The Doctor she seen at the clinic was Dr. Odigboegwu M.D. she knew nothing about this condition and at one point go frustrated and walked out of the room. The supervising Doctor came in and it was explained to him what was going on and he knew nothing and as we where leaving my wife said " this makes me want to stick a knife in my throat" the supervising Doctor said "well just go ahead and do it then." My wife is now in a hospital where they KNOW about this and is getting the treatment she needs and is coming along quite well. I wish the Doctors at Baylor Scott and White would of took the time and believed her when she was telling them about this. I have all the Doctors names just not in front of me, if anyone want the rest, just say so.

Extremely unimpressed with the service I received here. I am an expecting mother and I felt that I had to jump through hoops to see a doctor. After your initial appointment Scott and White has you register your insurance and discuss payments etc, which is a separate appointment. I had recently gotten married and was waiting for my husbands insurance to start carrying me (which I told them). They still had me come in (45 minute drive) just to tell me I had to come back once I was covered with my husbands insurance. After leaving the office I discovered my insurance had started and immediately called the woman I spoke with and was told I would have to make another appointment and that she would call me back. I had to call her again the next day because she forgot to call me and then drive all the way back up there to sign a piece of paper. She then told me before I could see a doctor a nurse would have to call and run through my medical history with me which they could not do until November 7th, and then it would another couple weeks until I could see the doctor. I am currently 13 weeks and havent seen a doctor since i was 7 weeks along due to my wedding and new insurance (which I understand they cannot control). So i wouldve had to wait until I was almost halfway through my pregnancy to see a doctor? I explained to them that I was worried about waiting that long (I had a missed miscarriage earlier this year) and was hoping they would be more accommodating and try to work with me. Nope. They were unsympathetic and basically told me "sorry we cant do anything." It is absolutely ridiculous to me that it should take almost three weeks before someone can call me and ask about my medical history. I decided to take my business elsewhere and found a very accommodating doctor who had me fill out my paperwork at home and is getting me in for an appointment in four days. In my opinion that is how a patient should be treated. If you want to feel welcome and important I do not recommend coming here.

I am a nurse who needed their care. After seeing their performance as a patient with my nursing eyes, my opinion is that they have under par medical care and business manners. Doctors in clinics are hurried-up to see some 50 patients a day! As a consequence, their doctors usually spend less than 10 minutes seeing each one of their patients. I waited 4 hours to be seen in the Emergency Room with an open wound. Then, later, they failed to pull all my stitches out and my wound started to get infected. I asked for antibiotics and they declined. I had to go to an outside doctor to get the antibiotics that cleared the infected wound. They let you know that they are a "teaching hospital". This means that you are likely to be seen by an intern (a fresh graduate from a medical school who is practicing on you). These people have no or very little experience. They are a good financial deal for the hospital who underpays the provider but bills the insurance full price. Unfortunately, they are less of a good deal for the patient. Their notes and diagnostics are signed off from a distance by a medical doctor who would not be likely to ever see you. The intern who tried to saw my wound in the Scott and White ER tore my skin. Would you be comfortable with that? I also had billing problems with them since they make errors in billing insurance companies and then they bill the patient. Their billing dept is not helpful, they just send you back to your insurance company. You have to do their work for them. In my experience, at Scott and White you might be lucky to get good care but most likely you may not. If you have a choice, dont take your chances with Scott and White facilities. In my opinion, they have grown too big and insensitive to the patient. Look for a place where doctors spend more time on your needs, nurses are not overworked and they are not so much after your money.
