Kevin is absolutely right! I read some really positive reviews a few years back so I took my dog there for about a year and half, at which time he had all sorts of things done including more than $600 out of pocket just for one-day surgery and check up. I must have spent thousands of dollar there, and I know his price was high but I didnt know exactly how much higher until recently I asked another vet about the same surgery that was done for $600 and I was quoted $90 ($60 for surgery and $30 for anesthesia). It was a jaw dropping shock to know that I wasted thousands of dollars at this vet clinic. I am so glad that weve left this place but I want to warn others who may be looking for a vet in the Universal City area. Another warning, you may be quoted one price when you go in but told a much higher price afterwards. Towards the end, I wanted quotes before anything was done and the quotes often miss stuff and I had to pay more anyway. Be aware!

I read positive reviews two years ago when we moved here and took my dogs here. It has not been a positive experience. It seems Dr. Weirs practice is more about charging clients for excessive tests. He does not hold the animals or their owners interest at heart. He wanted to run thousands of dollars worth of tests and an overnight stay (x-ray, ultrasound, heart echo, EKG....and on and on) for our 14 year old dog. We opted for pain meds; turns out she had K9-flu and recovered on her own at home. To top it off, when we asked for her medical files including an ex-ray film, they wanted to charge for that as well.

Very positive experience. Both Dr Weir and his staff were very patient and answered my many questions. The prescribed treatments worked as Dr Weir told me they would. To all the negative comments I say this. My dog always tries to bite the vets I take him to. I forwarned Dr Weir, he assured my it wouldnt happen, and it didnt, not even a growl out of my dog. The vet just petted and talked to my dog, and at the end, my pup made a friend. Dr Weir loves pets and its obvious.

Ive been taking my little dog to Dr. Weir for a number of years now. I believe he has saved her life on two different occasions. Hes not the cheapest vet around but if you love your animal the money is secondary. I would highly recommend this vet to anyone. I would never go anywhere else. Its surprising to me that anyone would have anything bad to say about him. I think hes the greatest!

I have used Dr. Weirs office for over 20 years and never had any real complaints. He is strict and takes caring for our babies seriously. He is a hard task master and demands perfection from his crew. I will stick with him, and if he does something I dont like I will tell him. He does love animals!
